Fay Earleen (Cady) Burford

Arnold resident Fay Earleen (Cady) Burford died July 5 at her home. She was 75.
Mrs. Burford was born in Arcadia to Ruth and Kenneth Cady.
She was a homemaker and also worked at Bear Valley Cross Country and Adventure Co., Big Trees Market and taught science and special education with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
She was a member of the Women in Boots hiking group in Arnold and also Alcoholics Anonymous for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed nature, teaching and her work sponsoring in Alcoholics Anonymous.
She helped raise her grandsons, Cody Layton and Jesse Slater, of Arnold.
Mrs. Burford was preceded in death by her daughter, Heidi McCoy, in 2009.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Chris and Jenny Burford, of Lafayette, Matthew and Kelly Burford, of West Virginia, Zoe Schonert, of Reno, Nev., and Genai Burford, of Arnold; her grandchildren, Cody Layton and Jesse Slater, of Arnold, Elysia Ulrich, of Reno, Jack Burford and Stella Burford, both of Lafayette, and Steve Burford and William Burford, both of West Virginia; and former husband, Christopher William Burford III, of Reno.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 10 at the meadow in Dorrington.
BAYER — Heidi Bayer, 40, of Sonora, died Wednesday at her home. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Christian Heights Assembly of God, 13711 Joshua Way, Sonora. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
SCHLENKE — A memorial service for Jeanne Schlenke, 89, formerly of Sonora and Jamestown, who died Tuesday at her home in Auburn, will be held at 2 p.m. July 26 at Sierra Pines United Methodist Church, 22559 West Hacienda Drive, Grass Valley. Chapel of the Angels in Grass Valley is handling arrangements.
