Franklin Eugene Atkinson
July 14, 1930 — July 7, 2012
Former Tuolumne resident Franklin Eugene Atkinson died Saturday at Sunrise Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev. He was 81.
Mr. Atkinson was born in Maryland. He lived in Tuolumne from 1968 through 1976, where he raised his family.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and bartender at Bowman’s Lounge in Yuba City for 16 years, until 1968.
He raised quarter horses and enjoyed showing them at Butler Amusements carnivals and racing them at Golden Gate Fields.
Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Mae (Domingo) Atkinson, in 2010; his son, Damon Andrew Fleming, in 1988; and his granddaughter, Jestiny Marie Tinkle, in 1988.
He is survived by his companion of 35 years, Joyce Wilson, of Needles; his daughter, Frankie (Atkinson) Tinkle, of Tuolumne; his grandchildren, Darryl Jonathon Tinkle, Darryn Taiyloré Tinkle and Destiny Reneé (Montgomery) and her husband, Brandon Archer, all of Tuolumne; numerous nieces and nephews; and one great-grandson.
A service will be held at a later date.
Desert Lawn Funeral Home in Mohave Valley, Ariz., is handling arrangements.
Kenneth T. ‘Harv’ Hargreaves
Oct. 3, 1921 — June 23, 2012
Sierra Village resident Kenneth T. “Harv” Hargreaves died June 23 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 90.
Mr. Hargreaves was born in Santa Rosa to Gladys and Thurlow Hargreaves.
His family moved to Alameda in 1927. He worked as a teacher in the Alameda Unified School District for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Islands during World War II.
He joined the Boy Scouts of America in 1933 and was a member for over 65 years. He received several medals commemorating his commitment and service, including the Dr. Barclay Stephens Lifetime Achievement Award, the Silver Beaver Award for Distinguished Service to Boyhood and the Vigil Honor by the Order of the Arrow.
He was a member of the Alameda Elks Lodge, Twain Harte Sons in Retirement, Twain Harte Chamber of Commerce and Tuolumne County Wine Association. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, fishing and community service.
Mr. Hargreaves was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Rodgers.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara (McKee) Hargreaves, of Sierra Village; his children and their spouses, Robert and Debra McKee, of Vallejo, Marshall McKee, of Novato, Thomas and Mireille McKee, of San Mateo, Michael and Mary McKee, of Alameda, Daniel and Diane McKee, of Lafayette; foster son, Ralph Butler and his wife Marie, of Macomb, Okla.; his brother, Richard Hargreaves and his wife, Katie, of Willits; his grandchildren and their spouses, Alexandra and Ken Schoonover, Nicole and Josh Ballew, Justin McKee, Kristin McKee, Christina McKee, Holly McKee, Sean McKee and Natalie McKee, four great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.

Dianna (Liedtke) Luzader
Sept. 29, 1943 — July 8, 2012
Sonora resident Dianna (Liedtke) Luzader died Sunday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 68.
Mrs. Luzader was born in Goodrich, N.D. She resided in Tuolumne County for 21 years.
She worked as a day care provider for over 30 years. She enjoyed providing food and clothing to children and families in need. She was a member of the Rivers of Life Christian Fellowship.
Mrs. Luzader is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Rebecca Luzader, of Sonora, Patricia and Linden Doyle, of Sonora, Monica and Justin Bermea, of Sonora, and Heather and Steve Victor, of Lathrop; her son, Ryan Luzader Jr. and his wife, Angel, of San Diego; her brother, Rodger Liedtke, of Sonora; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. July 21 at Rivers of Life Christian Fellowship Church. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
Patricia Lorraine Martinez
March 18, 1967 — June 23, 2012
Sonora resident Patricia Lorraine Martinez died June 23 at her home. She was 45.
Ms. Martinez was born in Sonora, where she lived most of her life.
She attended Columbia College. She was an artist and enjoyed sculpture, beadwork, drawing and painting.
Ms. Martinez was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Martinez, and her sister, Venus Brummell.
She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Daniels, of Valdosta, Ga.; her mother, Sylvia Martinez, of Jamestown, and many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held July 7 at the Red Church in Sonora. Heuton Memorial Chapel and National Alliance on Mental Illness are handling the arrangements.
