Vincent Nicolas Marques
Dec. 11, 1969 — May 12, 2014
Vincent, a long time resident of Sonora, Calif., went peacefully on his journey at his home at the age of 44.
He was the only son of the late Ronald Vincent Marques and Elizabeth E. “Vikki” Marques Morehead, of Sonora.
Vincent attended Curtis Creek Elementary School in his early years and graduated in 1988 from Sonora High School, where he played football. He attended college in San Diego and studied psychology. He officiated baseball and football most of his life.
Vincent went on to successfully operate his own business, Always Available Hauling, from 2004 until his illness.
His all-time favorite occupation was loving and raising his son. He and Nicolas spent much of their time jet skiing, camping, boating, fishing and they loved quad riding. Vincent loved being a coach on Nicolas’s team. He was a die hard San Francisco 49er football and Giants baseball fan.
Vincent loved to barbecue and play cribbage with Nicolas and his father-in-law and good friend, Noel Mansbach. He loved going to Disneyland with Nicolas and his friends.
In conversation with Nicolas, I asked him what he missed most about his Daddy and he simply replied with sad eyes, “Everything.”
On behalf of Vincent, I would like to thank every individual who made Vincent’s “Celebration of Life” a success. I am especially grateful to: Roger Hughes, the Brewster family, the Serpa family, the Foster family, the Marques family, Jeff Scott, Darin Neal, Lu Carpenter, Amber Garduno, Black Oak Casino, Perko’s, Jeb’s, Peppery, Bears Team, Grocery Outlet and the Mansbach family.
I should not be writing this. You were too young to die. I cry and miss you everyday. I get up every morning, breathe and think of you. You are in my heart forever. Love, Mom.
