Willard ‘Bud’ L. Center

Copperopolis resident Willard “Bud” L. Center died Jan. 1 at his home. He was 86.
He and his twin brother, William Hoyt Center, were born in Cottonwood, Shasta County, the son of Clinton and Mary Jane Center.
He grew up in Puyallup, Wash.
Mr. Center joined the Merchant Marines at 16 and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954.
He worked as a dredgerman and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union for more than 50 years. He traveled the world because of his work and dredged in locations including Tahiti and Vietnam.
Mr. Center retired in 1989.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed square dancing. He and his wife traveled from Alaska to Arizona with their square-dancing club.
Mr. Center lived in Copperopolis for 33 years.
He was a born-again Christian.
Mr. Center was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Center; his mother, Mary Jane Tennis; and eight siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie M. Center, of Copperopolis; his children, Sandra Krugman, Jacqueline Seavey, Katherine Morgan and Jeffrey Center, all of California; sister, Darlene Christensen, of Rochester, Wash., nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Services have been held.
Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
COOK — Arleen Joyce Cook, 70, of Arnold, died Saturday at her home. A graveside service will be held held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
MARK — Donald Leslie Mark, 88, of Sonora, died Jan. 15 at his home. A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Sonora Elks Lodge, 100 Elk Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to a charity of choice. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
WYNNE — Brian R. Wynne, 45, of Sonora, died Monday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
