Jorgen Oest Jacobsen

Sonora resident Jorgen Oest Jacobsen died Dec. 6 at Skyline Place in Sonora. He was 87.
Mr. Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark.
He served in the Danish Royal Guard for two years, from 1944 to 1946.
He immigrated to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1955. There, he met and married Shirley Rowe.
They became U.S. citizens in 1962 in Chicago, Ill.
He was a businessman and worked in electronic packing in Menlo Park for a number of years.
He and his wife lived in Foster City for 26 years before settling in Sonora 20 years ago.
Mr. Jacobsen was preceded in death by his son, Paul Jacobsen.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jacobsen, of Sonora; and his children and their spouses, Lisa and Mitch Gonzales, of Orange County, John Jacobsen, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Eric and Maureen Jacobsen, of Pleasanton; and grandchildren, Taylor and Luke Jacobsen, of Pleasanton.
A private family service will be held. Interment will be at Dambacher Memorial Cemetery.

LEWALLEN — Former Sonora resident Ricky Steven Lewallen, 60, of Modesto, died Jan. 8. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 25 at the House Church, 1601 Coffee Road, Modesto. Cunningham’s Burial and Cremation Center in Modesto is handling arrangements.
SULLIVAN — Dennis L. Sullivan Jr., 62, of Jamestown, died Thursday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
WILSON — Mary Wilson, 85, of Cedar Ridge, died Friday at her home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
