Debbie Coccaro Aug. 29, 1968 — Jan. 26, 2012 Lifelong Tuolumne County resident Debbie Coccaro died Jan. 26 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 43. Ms. Coccaro worked at the Senior/Youth Partnership’s PM Club after school program for 14 years, starting in 1998. Throughout her career she provided care for over 200 students and she was the lead teacher in the Columbia PM Club. She studied child development and enjoyed sharing her love of arts and gardening with students. Mrs. Coccaro was diagnosed with stage four cancer on Dec. 27, 2011. She is survived by her husband, John Coccaro, and daughter, Sarah Coccaro, both of Sonora. Donations can be made in her name to the Senior/Youth Partnership. No services will be held. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. Janet Marie ‘Jan’ (Falla) Newby Aug. 22, 1932 — Feb. 1, 2012 Sonora resident Janet Marie “Jan” (Falla) Newby died Feb. 1 at her home. She was 79. Mrs. Newby was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and was a barber for 40 years. She lived in Sonora for 10 years and loved the outdoors, horseback riding and painting watercolors. Mrs. Newby moved to Sonora from Oakhurst in 2002 and worked as the barber in Columbia State Historic Park for five years. Mrs. Newby was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her children, Robin Sumerlin, of Columbia, Autumn Lindamood, of Columbia, and Nick Allan, of Copperopolis; grandchildren Matt Lounsbury, Jeff Lounsbury, Brittney Allan, Brandon Allan and Nicole Al-lan; and four great-grandchildren. Private services will be held. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Notices CRITCHFIELD — Orange “Cal” Critchfield, 91, of Sonora, died Feb. 3 at Meadowview Manor.
