D. LeMoyne ‘Lee’ Clymer

Sonora resident D. LeMoyne “Lee” Clymer died Jan. 25 at his home in Sonora. He was 81.
Mr. Clymer was born in Medford, Ore., the son of Earl and Wanda Clymer.
He met his future wife, Marybelle, in South Dakota. They were married in 1953 after moving to Oregon.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1954, and finished his term Colorado in 1956.
He moved to Walla Walla, Wash., and then various communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Clymer worked as a truck driver, a driver’s training instructor and a salesman for Thunderbird Industries. He also had a small business restoring and selling furniture.
He eventually retired as an insurance agent in Redding.
Mr. Clymer and his wife moved to Sonora in 2013. He mentored young people and assisted with church missions to the Philippines and Micronesian Islands.
Mr. Clymer was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, LaVella Pinkney.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marybelle Clymer; his daughter, Jordan St. Kelley, of Fremont; and his three siblings, Crystal Wood, of Boise, Idaho, Renita Clymer, of College Place, Wash., and Marlita Clymer-Engelhart, of Sacramento.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Sonora.

Timothy Thomas Jackson
Dec. 13, 1946 — Jan. 6, 2014
Former Columbia resident Timothy Thomas Jackson, of Lewiston, Trinity County, died Jan. 6 at a Redding hospital. He was 67.
Mr. Jackson was born in San Jose to George Covert Jackson Sr. and Mary Theresa Jackson.
He attended Columbia Elementary and Sonora High schools, as well as Columbia College.
Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he worked for more than 30 years with the Department of Fish and Game at the Moccasin and Lewiston fish hatcheries.
He finished his career in Lewiston and retired in 2007.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening and drawing.
Mr. Jackson was member of the Lewiston Moose Lodge for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Kim Jackson, of Beaverton, Ore.; grandson, Tyler Jackson, of Beaverton, Ore.; stepdaughter, Wendy Avila, of Texas; siblings and their spouses, Greg Jackson, Bernadette and Jim Hockett, Jeff Jackson, Jan Jackson, Michael Jackson, all of Columbia, and Russ Jackson, George and Carol Jackson, of Sonora; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service and burial were held at Mountain View Cemetery.
Allen and Dahl Funeral Home of Redding handled arrangements.
HESS — David Hess, 77, of Sonora died Monday at his home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
