Valley Springs resident Mildred Anne (Pinkus) Zyski died Feb. 17 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton. She was 79.
Mrs. Zyski was born in London, England, to Jack and Belle Pinkus.
She met Donald Zyski in Coronado, and they were married on May 20, 1956.
She moved to Valley Springs in 1978.
Mrs. Zyski was an emergency medical technician instructor. She also was a pathology technician for Kaiser Permanente, as well as Stanford University. She was an EMT and paramedic for San Andreas and Valley Springs Ambulance. She was also a CPR and first aid instructor.
She was a Mother Lode Skills Evaluator, a Registered Advisory Committee member, as well as a Critical Incident Stress Management and Mother Lode Interagency Training Association member.
She enjoyed traveling, and having lunch with friends.
Mrs. Zyski was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Zyski; and grandson Christopher Zyski.
She is survived by son, David Zyski Sr. and his wife, Donna, of Manteca; three grandchildren, Jamie and Tim Swisher, of Sutter Creek, Jennifer Zyski, of Manteca, and David Zyski Jr., of Stockton; and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 2, at the San Andreas Fire House, 37 Church Hill Road.
San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling the arrangements.
