Sonora resident Wynafred Sinklier died Feb. 11 at Avalon Care Center. He was 87.
Mr. Sinklier was born in Kansas and worked as a lab technician at Union Oil Co. in Coalinga, for 33 years.
Mr. Sinklier was preceded in death by sons Fred and James Sinklier.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Sinklier, of Jamestown; his son, Gary Sinklier, of Sonora; and his daughter, Judy Kauaihilo, of Hawaii.
No services will be held.

Sonora resident Daniel Craig Cathey died Feb. 12 at his home. He was 76.
Mr. Cathey was born in Camden, Ark., and lived most of his life in Manteca. He lived in Sonora for 26 years.
Mr. Cathey worked for Tiechert Construction in Stockton for 25 years and was a member of Labors Union Local No. 73. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and he especially loved fishing and NASCAR.
Mr. Cathey was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Jimmy Cathey; and his great-grandson, Cash Jackson Durao.
Mr. Cathey is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vida Cathey, of Sonora; daughters Michell Durao and Danell McCleary and her husband Stacy McCleary; his sister, Kate Isbell; grandchildren Janell, Nicole, Craig, Brian, and Joell; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services have been held in Manteca.

Mi-Wuk Village resident Donald Nelson died Feb. 16 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 48.
Mr. Nelson was born in Fontana and served in the U.S. Army. For the past 10 years he lived in Mi-Wuk Village and for five years he worked as a food and beverage server.
Mr. Nelson was a member of Sierra Bible Church.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Bonnie Nelson, of Mi-Wuk Village; sons James Nelson, of Mi-Wuk Village, Anthony Castillo, of Hesperia and Richard Castillo, of Kingman, Ariz.; his daughter, Kandas Wright, of Sonora; his brother, David Nelson, of Hesperia; his sister, Dianne Nelson DuVall, of Hesperia; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sierra Bible Church’s Promise Land building.

Richard J. Walden
May 15, 1944 — Feb. 10, 2012
Tracy resident Richard J. Walden died Feb. 10 in at his vacation home in Sheep Ranch. He was 67.
Mr. Walden was born in Oakland and lived in Tracy for the last 11 years. He worked for over 45 years in the auto industry before retiring in 2009.
He was president of Nesters Hunting Club in Sheep Ranch, a member of the San Joaquin River Club in Tracy, former U.S. Air Force reserve, and a long time member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Walden enjoyed being a craftsman, fisherman and hunter.
Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Walden; and his parents, Willard and Madaline Walden.
Mr. Walden is survived by his wife, Carole L. Walden, of Tracy; children Bradley Walden, of Lathrop, Clifford Walden and his wife Leanne, of Livermore; his daughter-in-law, Meagan Walden, of Livermore; stepchildren Kimberlee King and her husband Denis King, of Dublin, and Jay Woodruff, of San Leandro; eight grandchildren; and his sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Charlie Bacon, of Castro Valley.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 25 at the San Joaquin River Club, 30000 Kasson Road, Tracy.
