Marcia (Rehm) Cronin

Sept. 3, 1935 — Feb. 1, 2014

Cedar Ridge and San Leandro resident Marcia (Rehm) Cronin died Feb. 1 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 78. 

Mrs. Cronin was born in Oakland, the daughter of Claire and Oswald Rehm.      

She married Cornelius “Corky” Cronin  on June 17, 1956, in San Leandro. 

They owned a cabin in Cedar Ridge and spent the last 53 years between their San Leandro and Cedar Ridge homes. 

Mrs. Cronin worked as a teacher’s assistant for the San Leandro School District for 23 years. She held membership in the Colombo Club, Dunsmuir House and Cedar Ridge Homeowners Association. 

Mrs. Cronin is survived by her husband of 58 years, Corkey Cronin, of San Leandro; her sister, Janet Cannizzaro, of Napa;  her children and their spouses, Michael and Michelle Cronin, of Danville, Patrick and Dawn Cronin, of Twain Harte, Julie (Cronin) and Jim Moher, of San Leandro; and grandchildren, Renee, Austin and Siobhan. 

Services have been held. 

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Donald Howard  Temple

May 28, 1937 — Feb. 8, 2014

Arnold resident Donald Howard Temple died Feb. 8 at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital in San Andreas. He was 77.

He was born in Altoona, Pa., the son of Paul and Gloria Temple.

He married Joyce Schade in Altoona on June 13, 1959.

He worked at United Airlines as an aircraft mechanic for 36 years.

Mr. Temple retired in 1992 and he and his wife moved to Arnold.

He was a member of the Ophir Bear Mountain Masonic Lodge 33 as well as the Order of Eastern Star in Murphys and the Masons for more than 52 years.

Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Temple, of Arnold; his children and their spouses, Russell and Kathy Temple, of Warren, Ohio, Troy and Holly Temple, of Spring, Texas, and Terri and Walter Clark, of Evansville, Ind.; and six grandchildren. 

No services are planned.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Lynne Rae Lowery

Dec.4, 1946 — Feb. 10, 2014

Murphys resident Lynne Rae Lowery died Feb. 10 at her home. She was 67. 

Mrs. Lowery was born in Alameda, the daughter of Virginia Miles and Raymond Hamburg.

She was a resident of Calaveras County for the past 40 years.

Mrs. Lowery worked many different jobs including waitressing at the Murphys Hotel and electronic assembling at Tranex Electronics Company in Vallecito. She retired as a cook from Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in San Andreas.

Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her children, Jason Lowery, of Salinas, Kelley Ziehlke, of Napa, and Kim Lock, of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

 

Robert Ben ‘Bob’ Romine

Aug. 12, 1943 — Feb.12, 2014 

Sonora resident Robert Ben “Bob” Romine died Feb.12 at his home. He was 70.

Mr. Romine was born in Fresno, the son of Bessie and Clyde Romine.

He moved to the Mojave Desert with his parents. 

He enjoyed racing motorcycles, scuba diving and planes. 

He married Donna Rudden on Feb. 14, 1977, in Capitola. They were married for six years. 

Mr. Romine worked as a heavy equipment foreman at an aluminum plant for 27 years. 

He then owned and operated Mojave Dirt Works for the next 20 years. 

Mr. Romine and his wife, Donna, reconciled and re-married after 28 years apart on Feb. 2, 2007.   

Mr. Romine was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Bobby Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Romine, of Sonora; children, Rhonda Clark, of Mojave, Christopher Romine of, Sonora; and his grandchildren, Adrianna Harris, Nanda Jeffers, Kristen Clark and Zac Clark; and seven great-grandchildren. 

No services will be held.

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

ROBERTS — Rick Roberts, 49, of Sonora, died Sunday at his business in Sonora. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
