Louis Dalby
Dec. 19, 1940 — Feb. 1, 2012

    Jamestown resident Louis Dalby died Feb. 1 at his home. He was 71.
    Mr. Dalby worked as a cook for 15 years and lived in Jamestown for 22 years.
    Mr. Dalby is survived by his wife, Lois Dalby, of Sonora; sons Thomas Day, of Waterford, John Dalby, of Salida and Tim Dalby, of Sonora; daughters Kimberly Dalby, of Sonora, Christine Dalby, of Sonora and Tarri Wells, of Le Grande, Merced County; sisters Carolyn Carmichael and Wanda Beck, both of Illinois; and 10 grandchildren.
    No services are scheduled.
    Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Rebecca
‘Beki’ Hood
Nov. 20, 1933 — Jan. 29, 2012

    Sonora resident Rebecca “Beki” Hood died Jan. 29 at her home. She was 78.
    Mrs. Hood was born in Pueblo, Colo., and moved to Oakland in the 1950s. She lived in Sonora for many years. 
    Her family said she was a devout Catholic and enjoyed praying for others.
    She was preceded in death by sisters Julia Rosales, Dora Acosta, Soccoro Rodriguez, Marylou Bueno, and brothers Manuel Rosales, John Rosales and Michael Rosales.
    Mrs. Hood is survived by her son, Cris Hood-Rosales, of San Francisco; brothers Jesus “Chuy” and his wife, Jane Rosales, and Dan Jesus and his wife, Dolores Rosales, both of Pueblo, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
    Services will be held in California and internment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oakland.
    Neptune Society of Central California handled arrangements.

Vera Marie Rodrigues
Feb. 27, 1929 — Jan. 26, 2012

    Longtime Tuolumne County resident Vera Marie Rodrigues died Jan. 26 at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Long Term Care Unit. She was 82.
    Mrs. Rodrigues was born in Pikeville, Tenn., and in her youth worked in a bomber plant in Kansas in 1944. She also later worked at Thelma Tilley’s Cafe, Faye’s Cafe, the Rancho, the Europa, the Lasso and Little John’s restaurants.
    She also worked as a clerk at Mother Lode Christian School, a cook at Summerville High School and as a clerk at Mundorf’s Mercantile in Sonora until she retired.
    Mrs. Rodrigues was preceded in death by sons Thomas Rodney Rodrigues, in 1946, and Keith Wesley Rodrigues, in 1970; her husband of 46 years, Thomas S. Rodrigues, in 1994; and parents Charles Rector and Lola Keylon.
    Mrs. Rodrigues is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne Thomas and Shirley Rodrigues, of Tuolumne; siblings Thomas E. Keylon and Harold L. Keylon, both of Kansas; grandchildren Tammy L. Rodrigues, of Tuolumne and Michael D. and his wife Sammi Rodrigues, of Queen Creek, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren.
    Graveside services were held Feb. 2 at Carters Cemetery in Tuolumne.
    Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Allen Wallace
March 23, 1919 — Feb. 3, 2012

    Columbia resident John Allen Wallace died Feb. 3 at his home. He was 92.
    Mr. Wallace was born in St. Louis County, Mo.
    He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wallace, of Columbia.
    At Mr. Wallace’s request no services will be held and cremation is planned.
    Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Daniel Cabral
Nov. 7, 1947 — Feb. 2, 2012

    Longtime Hathaway Pines resident Daniel Cabral died Feb. 2 at his home. He was 64.
    Mr. Cabral was born in Oakland and lived in Calaveras County for 45 years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 40 years.
    He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Cabral, of Hathaway Pines; his son, Benjamin Cabral, of Puyallup, Wa.; his daughter, Tisha Cabral, of Arnold; his mother, Adeline Cabral, of Denair; his sister, Dorothy Lemos, of Modesto; and three grandchildren.
    No services will be held.
    Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

    RISARD — Alice Risard, 85, of Jamestown, died Friday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
