Hazel V. Serva
March 27, 1919 — Feb. 3, 2013
Angels Camp resident Hazel Serva died Feb. 3 at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital. She was 93.
Mrs. Serva was born in San Francisco.
She moved to Angels Camp in the 1950s and went to school in San Andreas to become a licensed vocational nurse.
She worked at Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Mrs. Serva enjoyed playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by husband, Anthony Serva, in 1967; and son, Dennis Serva, in the 2000s.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Palmer, of Angels Camp; three sons, Anthony and James Serva, of Angels Camp, and Ronnie Serva, of Sheep Ranch; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, 228 Monte Verda St., Altaville.
Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
Tiffany Diane (Long) Gage
Feb. 11, 1970 — July 19, 2012
Sonora resident Tiffany Diane Gage died July 19 at her home. She was 42.
Mrs. Gage was born in Alexandria, Va., to Jim and Barbara Long. Her family settled in Jamestown in 1980, after moving to Northern California.
She attended Jamestown Elementary School and graduated from Sonora High School in 1987.
Mrs. Gage attended college and held several jobs in the Bay Area. She was a weekend group leader at a group home for autistic adults, where she met Jeff Gage, whom she married in 1996. They lived in Fresno and took in three foster daughters, before moving between Colorado and California for a number of years. Part of that time, she worked for WATCH in Sonora.
She moved back to Sonora with her son in 2012.
She was preceded in death by father-in-law Ted Gage in 2011.
She is survived by her son, Logan Gage, who now lives in Colorado Springs, Colo.; husband, Jeff Gage, of Colorado Springs; daughters, Melissa Krauss and Megan Brummett, of Fresno, and Christina Kavadas, of Oakland; parents and step-parents, Barbara and Jerry Morrow, of Sierra Village, and Jim and Marilyn Long, of Salem, Ore; mother-in-law, Mary Louise Gage, of San Jose; step-sisters, Denise Chambers, of Roseville, and Terry Morrow, of Twain Harte; grandchildren, Andrew, Breonna, and Cynthia Villegas, all of Fresno; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Sierra, 20100 Cedar Road N., Sonora.
