Alice Mae (Henderson) Guidi

Dec. 22, 1926 — Feb. 3, 2014

Angels Camp resident Alice Mae (Henderson) Guidi died Feb. 3 at Avalon Care Center in Sonora. She was 87.

Mrs. Guidi was born in Sacramento, the daughter of William and Ella Henderson. 

She married Darwin Guidi July 30, 1935. They lived in Sacramento before moving to Angels Camp 15 years ago.

She was a lifelong resident of California and worked as a secretary for the state for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Guidi was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin, who died in 2009.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeannette and George Bennett, of Angels Camp, Michael and Raquel Guidi, of Hathaway Pines, Jim Guidi, of Sacramento, and Richard and Barbara Guidi, of Denver.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 820 S. Main St., Angels Camp.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. 

Josephine Nola (Gales) Hall

March 3 1922 — Jan. 28 2014

Sonora resident Josephine Nola (Gales) Hall died Jan. 28. at Avalon Care Center. She was 91.

Mrs. Hall was born in White Lake, S.D., to Joseph and Nola Gales.

She moved to Santa Cruz with her family as a child. 

She married George B. Hall on July 10, 1948, in Santa Cruz.

She moved to Sonora in 1972.

Mrs. Hall retired from Columbia College, where she worked in food service.

She enjoyed camping and traveling. 

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; and brother, Robert Gales. 

She is survived by her brother, Syl Gales, of Santa Cruz; her children, Robert Lynn Hall, Leila L. Purcell, of Washington, Linda Mae Blair, of Sonora, and Nola Kay Thompson, of Sonora; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Hall, Andrew Hall, Robert Hall, Eric Hall, Adam Hall, Teresa Gomez and Sean Thompson.

Donations in her memory can be made to may the Sonora Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 4363, Sonora, CA 95370; or the Tuolumne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 830, Jamestown, CA 95327.

No services are planned.

Patricia Lee (McCarthy) Rucker

July 20, 1938 — Jan. 25, 2014

Sonora resident Patricia Lee (McCarthy) Rucker died Jan. 25 in a Modesto hospital. She was 75.

Ms. Rucker was born in Oakland. She moved to Tuolumne at age 5 to live with her aunt.

She married Jack Rucker of Sonora in 1967. They raised two sons in Sonora.

Ms. Rucker worked as a nurse at Tuolumne General Hospital. She traveled with her young sons to Ireland, Sacramento and Colorado to pursue her education. 

She served as president of the Central California Committee of Republican Women and was a board member of Tuolumne General Hospital and the Mother Lode Fair. 

Ms. Rucker enjoyed traveling, music and gardening. 

Ms. Rucker was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years; and her parents.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel Rucker and his wife, Erika, of Fairfield, and Brian Rucker, of Santa Cruz; and grandchildren, Gavin Rucker and Phaedra Rucker.

No services are planned.

HUGHES — Lee Hughes, 83, of Sonora, died Thursday at Avalon Care Center in Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

NOLTE — Richard Nolte, 64, of Tuolumne, died Thursday at a Modesto hospital. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
