Helen Bolton
Oct. 7, 1927 — Jan. 29, 2012

    Sonora resident Helen Bolton died Sunday at her home. She was 84.
    Born in Dardanelle, Ark., to DeLois Cates and John E. Swilley, she was a homemaker for 60 years. She lived in Sonora for one year.
    She enjoyed gardening, painting and reading.
    Mrs. Bolton is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Janie Bolton, of Visalia, and Larry and Cathy Bolton, of Pioneer; grandchildren, Matthew Bolton, of Monterey, and Jennifer Bolton, of Modesto; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Bolton Jr.
    A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Bolton’s name to a favorite charity.   
    Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Debra Elder
May 14, 1957 — Jan. 21, 2012

    Sonora resident Debra Elder died Jan. 21 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 54.
    Born in McMinnville, Ore., to Joyce Burgess and William Garber, she worked as a nurse for 20 years. She lived in Sonora for about eight months.
    She enjoyed riding motorcycles and going to the beach.
    Mrs. Elder is survived by her children, Michael Lacy, of San Carlos, Jack Elder, of Half Moon Bay, Harmony Lacy, of Lodi, James Elder, of Sacramento, and Jodee Elder, of Sonora; sisters, Anita Nichols, of Jacksonville, Fla., Bonnie Denton, of Oklahoma, Judie Richter, of Oregon, Cindy Parreira, of Elk Grove, and Karen Mullens, of Sonora; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elder; and sister, Maddy Miller.
    A service has already been held.
    Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.


    CLEM — Mary Clem, 57, of Sonora, died Monday at her home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
