Eileen A. McKay

Mi-Wuk Village resident Eileen A. McKay died Dec. 3 at her home. She was 82.
Mrs. McKay was born in Bassano, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Sam and Tillie Ellingson.
She immigrated to the United States in 1939 and spent most of her younger years in Albany, Ore.
She married and had two daughters, Marsha and Sharon McKay.
Mrs. McKay worked as an accountant for the school of oceanography at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore., for most of her career and retired in 1993.
She was a member of the Business Professional Women’s Club for many years. She was also a member of many book clubs.
Mrs. McKay often traveled to visit her grandchildren in Washington and California and enjoyed hosting them in Corvallis during summer vacations.
She settled in Mi-Wuk Village in 2001 to be closer to family.
Mrs. McKay was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Steven Ellingson; and her sister, Millie Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughters, Marsha McKay, of Mi-Wuk Village, and Sharon McKay Kelley and her husband, W. Patrick Kelley Sr., of Mi-Wuk Village; and grandchildren, Ellen Luce-McKay, Jeffrey Luce-McKay, Elizabeth Kathryn Kelley, William Patrick Kelley Jr., and Michael Kibbee Kelley, all of Mi-Wuk Village.
No services are planned.
