Former Calaveras County resident Thelma McMillin died Sunday at a retirement community in Saratoga. She was 93.
Born in Pueblo, Colo., to Lillian and Edward Larsh, she grew up in Leadville, where she met and married Gene McMillin.
After World War II, the couple moved to the Bay Area, where they had two children, including their son Jeri, who played football at Stanford University, served in the U.S. Marines and worked as a stockbroker.
Mrs. McMillin lived in Calaveras County, including Hathaway Pines, Dorrington and Angels Camp, for about 20 years.
She enjoyed golf, bridge, traveling and entertaining.
Mrs. McMillin is survived by her brothers and their wives, Donald and Idabelle Larsh, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jack and Jane Larsh, of San Jose; daughter-in-law, Carolyn McMillin, of Murphys; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one aunt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gene McMillin; children, Donna and Jeri McMillin; and her brother, Edward Beurman Larsh.
A private family service is scheduled. The Trident Society in San Jose is handling arrangements.
BROOKS — Leonard Brooks, 86, of Jamestown, died Friday at Sonora Regional Medical Center transitional care. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
