Deberah Pearl Schneider

Oct. 25, 1960 — July 26, 2014

With deep sorrow for the magnitude of our loss, yet with great gratitude for the amazing love she gave to all of us, we confirm the passing of Deberah Pearl Schneider at the age of 53 on July 26, 2014. 

Deberah was born on Oct. 25,1960, in Long Beach, Calif., to Dawn Springstead and Freddy Lee. 

Deberah was preceded in death by her father, Freddy, her grandma Pearl Christiansen, and her brother, Randy Lee. Deberah is survived by her mother, Dawn Springstead and the love of her life, Mike Stevens; her children, Wendy Abreu (Carlos Abreu), Toni Schneider, Thomas Schneider (Kathy Moraga), Allison Stevens and Josh Stevens; and 13 grandchildren, Brandon, Edyn, Dillyan, Aileena, Ayla, Abigail, Carlos Jr., Maddie, Jordan, Breanna, Alyssa, Bronx and Kayla. 

Deberah was an amazing mother with a heart full of love for all of us and for her animals. Her smile and laughter were contagious and will forever be greatly missed.

A celebration of Deberah’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Tuolumne Baptist Church, 18426 Fir Ave. in Tuolumne. All who knew and loved Deberah are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate live plants in her memory and honor.

Bettye Moran Braccia

April 19, 1923 — Aug. 21, 2014

Bettye Moran Braccia died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at her home in Twain Harte. She was 91 years old.

She was born in Easton, Pa., and lived in Twain Harte for the past 20 years. She graduated from Keuka College in New York and was a high school history teacher. She was a 47-year member of the Twain Harte Lake Association.

Bettye was a loving mother to Angela (Richard) Vandegrift, of Twain Harte, Sondra Russi, of Walnut Creek, Calif., Craig (Adrienne) Braccia, of Orinda, Calif., Mark (Michele) Braccia, of Richland, Wash., and Matthew (Dana) Braccia, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and was a devoted sister to Joan Mellor, of Bellevue, Neb.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Anthony Braccia and three of her children, Jeffery Braccia, Mitchell Braccia and Derby Ann Bradley.

At her request, no services were held.

Delores Ellnora Schulte VanBrocklin

June 10, 1925 — Aug. 20, 2014

Delores Ellnora Schulte VanBrocklin, of Groveland, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 89. She was a devoted charter member to Mountain Lutheran Church in Groveland.

Mrs. VanBrocklin was preceded in death by her husband, Richard VanBrocklin; her father, Carl, and mother, Anna Schulte; her brothers, Wallace, Delmer, Gordan, Kenneth and Ervin Schulte, and sister Doreen Henke.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Morris, of Groveland, Dana VanBrocklin, of Lenoir, N.C., and Dwight VanBrocklin, of Big Oak Flat; grandchildren, Kimberly Morris, of Fullerton in Orange County, Kurt Morris, of Fremont, Amber VanBrocklin, of Lenoir, N.C., and Dwight “D.J.” VanBrocklin, of Groveland; sister, Ellen Lange, of Center, N.D., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was known for her devotion and love for The Lord, church, family, wisdom and her sweet heart. All memories of Delores as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend will forever be in our hearts.

Charles Pierce

June 11, 1986 — Aug. 25, 2014

Charles Thomas Pierce was brought in to this world in San Francisco on June 11, 1986, and passed away on Aug. 25 in Twain Harte, Calif., at the age of 28.

“The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.”

Charley had a passion and flare for life that is unsurpassed. Regardless if he was snowboarding, ballin’, hiking, fishing or using his hands on a daily basis as a carpenter.

Everyone has their own special Charley and he made sure everyone felt loved. We are all blessed to have shared in his smile, laughter and enthusiasm for living life to the fullest. 

The world seems dim without his brightness here, but his memory will forever be ingrained in all of us.

Charles is survived by his parents, Terrence and Kimberly Pierce; his sisters, Kyber Bree Keefe and Kellie E. Pierce; his brothers, Terrence F. Pierce and Thomas C. Pierce; his nephew, Richard T. Pierce; his numerous aunts and uncles, Charles Pierce, Jim and Mary Ellen Crowley, Thomas and Mary Beth Pierce, Daniel Pierce, Susan and Daniel Gillespie, Julie and Patrick Joyce, Kevin Pierce, John and Joy Zimmer and John and Carlesia Azinheira; his great-aunt and uncles, Karl and Karin Martz and Daniel Murray and many cousins from all over the country.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at All Saints Catholic Church in Twain Harte. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
