Sam Guidry passed away on Aug. 7, 2014, at his home in Mi-Wuk Village, Calif. He was 23 years old.
Sam was born on May 20, 1991, in Redding, Calif.. He enjoyed skiing and music.
He is survived by his mother, Carla Guidry, of Mi-Wuk Village; siblings, Scooter Guidry, of Mi-Wuk Village, Kevin Guidry, of California, Danielle Childers, of San Diego, Calif., and Kim Ricci, of Modesto, Calif.

Manny Gene Gonzales

Sonora resident Manny Gene Gonzales died Monday, Aug. 4, at his home. He was 65.
Manny was born in San Francisco, Calif., to Doris (Rothmeier) and Manuel Gonzales. He grew up in the Bay Area, where he graduated from Polytechnic High School in San Francisco in 1967.
He married Laurel Edwards in 1971, and they lived together in San Anselmo before relocating to Merritt Island, Fla., in 1980. They moved to Sonora in 1990. He was an independent dental technician in Sonora for 23 years until he retired in 2013.
Manny was a patient teacher, a self-taught gourmet chef and a gear-head. He enjoyed sailing, both on water and land, visiting the desert in search of hot springs and listening to reggae. A loyal friend and loving husband and father, he also enjoyed spending time with his two young grandsons.
Manny was preceded in death by his wife, Laurel Edwards Gonzales; and his parents, Doris and Manuel Gonzales.
Manny is survived by his children, Roth Gonzales, of Seattle, Wash., and Lane Gonzales, of Santa Cruz; his daughter-in-law, Jenifer Gonzales, of Seattle; his two grandsons, Rowan and Milo Gonzales, of Seattle; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Edwards, of Napa, Calif.; and his brother, Greg Gonzales, of Sonoma, Calif.
Celebration of life events will be held at later dates. Heuton Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
