Claire Fischer

Oct. 7, 1922 – Aug. 12, 2004

Lifelong Calaveras County resident June Claire Fischer died Thursday at a San Andreas hospital. She was 81.

She was born in Angels Camp. She had lived in Murphys for the past 25 years and previously lived in Arnold for 15 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Meadowmont Women's Golf Club in Arnold.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Fischer of Murphys; a son, Walt Huse of Murphys; grandchildren, Brian Huse of Angels Camp and Kim Winton of Sonora; and great-grandchildren, Katie and Austin Kan, both of Sonora, and Brent, Briana and Bailey Huse, all of Angels Camp.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Soracco, and a sister, Carolyn Stone, both in 2001.

Service information has been changed. A private family service is scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Northern California Chapter, 150 Grand Ave., Oakland, CA 94612.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Feb. 14 , 1947 – Aug. 10, 2004

Janis Marlene Keith of Jamestown died unexpectedly Tuesday at her home. She was 57.

She was born and raised in San Jose and lived in Tuolumne County for 15 years, mainly in Twain Harte. She most recently lived in Jamestown for more than a year.

She went to work for her sister, Cheryl, at the former Cheryl's Sportswear in downtown Twain Harte and later worked at the former Penny Saver Market in Twain Harte.

Her family said she was creative and designed applique shirts and made many homemade gifts for friends and family. Her fondest memories while in Twain Harte were of visiting with friends at the Sierra Belle Bakery, where the China House of Twain Harte is now located, her family added.

She was a homemaker for 37 years.

She is survived by a son, Gary Keith of San Francisco; a daughter, Kimberly Keith of Campbell, Santa Clara County; her mother, Eileen Stuckey of San Jose; a brother, Brian Stuckey of San Jose; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicki Betzner of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Shelley and John Colianna of San Jose, Cheryl and Steve Sargent of Twain Harte and Marcelle Stuckey of Santa Clara.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis "Rusty" Stuckey.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose.

Donations can be made to Twain Harte Community Service District's Park Fund, P.O. Box 649, Twain Harte, CA 95383.

LONG — Uthana Lahoma Long, 84, mother of Lahoma Gill of Mountain Ranch, died Thursday at a Lodi hospital. Visitation is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. today at San Andreas Memorial Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow at the chapel. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

OLIVER — Betty Lou Oliver, 75, of Columbia died Friday at a Sonora hospital. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

PRUTCH — Charles Prutch, 88, of Jamestown died Friday at his home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

WILSON — James "Willie" S. Wilson Jr., 70, of Sonora died Saturday at a Sonora hospital. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

YEAGER — Helen Yeager, 83, of Coulterville died Saturday at a Sonora hospital. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
