Robert “Bob” Allured lived in Sonora for the past 27 years surrounded by much of his family. He passed away in the early morning on Aug. 9, 2014, after a long battle with diabetes. He celebrated his 88th birthday with his family on May 2.
Bob was born in Los Angeles on May 2, 1926, to Sara-Margaret and William Allured. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Amador County. After joining the U.S. Navy in 1943, he joined his high school class in the graduation ceremonies at Jackson High School in 1944. He served in the Pacific during World War II at Okinawa, Formosa, Aparri, Visayas and the Philippines operations. Bob married Betty (Greve) Allured on Jan. 5, 1949.
Bob spent his entire professional career with Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and retired from the system dispatchers office in San Francisco in 1983. He was a member of the American Power Dispatcher Association, the Pacific Coast Electrical Association, Mayflower Society, and the American Legion. Bob also volunteered with Hospice and served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Contra Costa County. Bob loved his family and was a friend to all whom he met.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty; daughter and her husband, Yvonne and Bill Morse, of Sonora; his two sons and their wives, Jim and Cari Allured ,of Temecula, Calif., and Chuck and Denise Allured, of Grass Valley, Calif.; his nine grandchildren, Julie and her husband, Garrett Dean and Sara and her husband, Matt Burgess, of Sonora, Rochelle Allured, of Wildemar, Jesse Allured, of Napa, Katie and Laura Barnard, of Temecula, Brad and his wife, Becca Allured, of Reno, Marc and his wife, Jen Stetler, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Jason Stetler of Westminster, Colo.; his 14 great-grandchildren; his niece, Penny and her husband Jim Hartman; his former daughter-in-law, Vicki Austin; siblings, Richard Allured and his wife, Jean, of Placerville and Walter “Ted” Allured, of San Andreas; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Bob’s honor at 2 p.m. Aug. 30, 2014, at the Sonora Hills Clubhouse, 19601 Greenley Road, Sonora, CA 95370.

Bonnie May Vincent
June 13, 1940 — Aug. 12, 2014
Bonnie May Vincent passed away peacefully at Avalon Care Center in Sonora on Aug. 12, 2014.
Bonnie was born in Modesto, California, on June 13, 1940, to Arthur and Ava Pankey. She met her future husband, Glenn Vincent, at Downey High School in Modesto and they were married on Sept. 7, 1956. They were together for the next three years in Limestone, Maine at a U.S. Nike Missile base. They settled in Salida, California, where she raised her family and worked part-time as a nurse. Bonnie and Glen were active in 4H and served as community leaders for the Salida Beavers.
In 1976, Bonnie and Glen moved to Pinecrest where they became the managers of Camp Sylvester Youth Camp for the next 24 years. Bonnie also was manager of the Pinecrest Marina in the 1980’s. After retiring in 1999, Bonnie and Glen moved to the Mono Vista area where they continued to be active in Sierra Bible Church. She and Glen traveled and went camping all their married life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dennis Pankey and Larry Pankey; and sister, Sandra Azavedo.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glen Vincent; her three sons and their wives, Jim and Liz Vincent, Gary and Edith Vincent and Tracy and Jane Vincent; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Eric, Russell, Elizabeth, Julia, Ashley, Megan, Andrea and Michaela; ten great-grandchildren; three godchildren, Jenny Cole-Crockett, Ronny Cole and Michael Cole; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Sierra Bible Church, 15171 Tuolumne Road, Sonora, CA 95370.

Haubrich, 76, of Sonora, who died Tuesday at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s long-term care unit, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Church in Twain Harte. A reception will follow. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
McDONALD — Barbara Jean McDonald, 82, of Sonora, died Wednesday at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s long-term care unit. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
