Jason Wayne Canner

Jason Wayne Canner of Sonora died Aug. 6 at a Sonora hospital after a short illness. He was 34.
He was born in La Mesa. His parents moved to Sonora when he was a young teenager. He attended Curtis Creek Elementary School and graduated from Sonora High School. He was involved in track at that time and received many medals.
He began his 10-year career in the restaurant business in Sonora and then moved to Washington state, where he raised a family. He returned to Sonora in 2003.
Mr. Canner is survived by his wife, Deanna Canner of Bremerton, Wash.; two daughters, Katherine and Serena Canner, both of Bremerton; a son, Rodney Canner of Bremerton; his mother, Teddy Moretti of Sonora; a sister, Amy Moretti of Sonora; a niece, Sonja Daniels of Sonora; grandmother, Elizabeth Starks of Jamestown; two uncles, Les Starks of Sonora, and Gary Starks of Spokane, Wash.; an aunt, Terry Parker of Gainesville, Ga.; seven cousins, and nine second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Starks Jr.
Private graveside services will be held at Mountain Shadow Cemetery. At the family's request, remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Ave., Suite 8, Modesto, CA 95350 for Tuolumne County. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
William Arthur Rich

William Arthur Rich, formerly of Standard, died Monday at a Riverside hospital. He was 75.
He was born near Standard on the Mc Auley homestead. He attended Curtis Creek Grammar School before moving to Stockton in 1940. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
Mr. Rich is survived by his sister, Lillian Barles of Riverside; two nieces, April Wilson and Debbie Zohlman; two nephews, Robert and Fortune Barles; two great nieces; four great nephews; two great-great nephews; several cousins, including Gary and Kevin Robles, and Art and Robert Valponi, all of Sonora; and an aunt, Dolores Warne of Oakdale.
A rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside is handling arrangements.
GARRETT Hazel E. Garrett, 78, of Sonora died Tuesday at a Salinas medical center. A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Salinas. Healey Mortuary in Salinas is handling arrangements.
ELMORE Gladys V. Elmore, 88, of Sonora died yesterday at her home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
