Margaret Lola Babb

Margaret Lola Babb of Hathaway Pines died Wednesday at a Sonora assisted living home. She was 96.
She was born in Big Cabin, Okla., which was at that time called "Indian Territory." She was one of the first women welders to work at the Richmond shipyards during World War II.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Harold Holmes of Hathaway Pines; grandchildren Sharon Davis of Sacramento, Steve Holmes of York, Neb., and Mark Holmes of Denver; great-grandchildren Jim Davis of Concord, Kyle Davis of Sacramento, and Paul and John Holmes of York, Neb.; great-great grandchild Kaylee Davis of Concord; and two nieces and a nephew, Lea Gettings of Lompoc and Marguerite Edwards, and Jim Wynn of Apache Junction, Ariz.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Ray Babb.
Services were held. Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose is handling arrangements.
