Beverley Fahrner

July 29, 1916 – July 29, 2004

Longtime Camp Connell resident Marguerite Beverley Fahrner died July 29 at her home. She was 88.

She was born in San Diego and had lived in Camp Connell for 31 years. She worked as a receptionist in the admissions office at San Francisco State University for 19 years.

She is survived by her son, Richard Fahrner of Mill Valley, Marin County; a daughter, Rita Fahrner of San Francisco; a sister, Mary Koenig of San Diego; and four grandchildren.

At her request, no services are scheduled.

Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.


C. Mullins

Sept. 28, 1924 – Aug. 4, 2004

Everett "Speed" C. Mullins of Jamestown died Aug. 4 at his home. He was 79.

He was born in California and lived in Jamestown for 10 years. He worked as a truck driver for 20 years.

He was a member of the Stockton chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II.

Mr. Mullins is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Brian Kelly of Jamestown and Erin Mullins-Rivera and Raul Rivera of Seattle; and grandchildren, Alyssa and Ryan Kelly, both of Jamestown.

Burial is scheduled at Stockton Rural Cemetery in Stockton.

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.


Ann Vanover

May 16, 1945 – Aug. 8, 2004

Longtime Tuolumne County resident Rosalie Ann Vanover died Sunday at her son's home in Sonora of natural causes. She was 59.

She was born in Hayward and lived in Tuolumne County for 25 years, most recently in Jamestown.

Her family said she loved her job and the friends she made over the 22 years with Tuolumne County schools as an administrative assistant.

She was a member of the Columbia Presbyterian Church of the 49ers.

Her family said her favorite times were backpacking in the Emigrant Wilderness with her friends and family, the outdoors, gardening and being with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of three years, Jerome "Jerry" H. Vanover of Jamestown; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Susan Pittman of Sonora and Ken and Erica Pittman of Santa Cruz; grandchildren, Scott and Ashley Pittman of Sonora and Kyle and Jeff Pittman of Santa Cruz; her mother, Marion Enger of Sonora; a brother and sister-in-law, Art and Bonnie Conrad of Fremont; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Glen Fitzpatrick of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Donna Conrad of San Jose; nieces, Sara Rose Conrad of New York, N.Y., Erica Conrad of Fremont and Kelly Fitzpatrick of Warner Robbins; and her mother-in-law, Irma Vanover of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles F. Conrad; and her brother, David Conrad.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday at Columbia Presbyterian Church of the 49ers.

Remembrances can be made to the Building Fund of the Columbia Presbyterian Church of the 49ers, 11155 Jackson St., Columbia, CA 95310 or the Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice of the Sierra, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora, CA 95370.

DAVIS — Steve Davis, 50, of Jamestown died yesterday at a Sonora hospital. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

HANSEN — Ferris Hansen, 97, of Sonora died yesterday at a San Leandro care center. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

KEITH — Janis Keith, 57, of Jamestown died yesterday at her home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

MELONE — A celebration of life is pending for Terri Rochele Melone, 47, who died July 25 at her Copperopolis home. For more information, call Cathy Acosta at 785-0649. Machado's Hillside Chapel in Hayward is handling arrangements.
