 Joseph Guy Puccio

March 17, 1960 — July 28, 2013

Sonora resident Joseph Guy Puccio died Sunday at his home due to complications of a heart condition. He was 53. 

Mr. Puccio was born in Fremont to Katherine and S. Guy Puccio. 

The family moved to Calaveras County in the early 1970s and graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1978. 

He operated Calaveras Ambulance for a number of years. He also owned a special events company and worked as disc jockey for 30 years. He operated a few restaurants and freelanced in computer technology and repairs and sound installation. 

He moved to Sonora from Calaveras County 20 years ago. 

He was a member of Divine Ministry Community Church in Sonora and Friends of the Animal Community.

Mr. Puccio was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Harvey, in 1994. 

He is survived by his father, S. Guy Puccio, of Arnold; his son, Joshua Guy Puccio, and his wife, Jolleen, of Sonora; his siblings, Michael David Puccio, of Mattaponi, Va., Annina Rae Puccio, of Lafayette, and Maria Puccio, of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Colby James Hathcoat, Alyssa-Hope Puccio and Haisley Puccio, all of Sonora; and former wife, Charlene Blank, of Angels Camp.

Donations in his memory, donations can be made to Friends of the Animal Community, P.O. Box 4627 Sonora, CA 95370.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Heuton Memorial Chapel, 400 S. Stewart St., Sonora. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys.

Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Michael David Thein

July 10, 1987 — July 24, 2013

San Andreas resident Michael Davis Thein died July 24 after a motorcycle accident on Pool Station Road in San Andreas. He was 26.

Mr. Thein was born in San Jose to Lisa Ann Self and Michael Robert Thein.

He graduated from Mountain Oaks Charter School in 2005.

He worked as carpenter, mason and mechanic in Calaveras County.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and glass etching and was a member of San Andreas Community Covenant Church.

Mr. Thein was preceded in death by his father, Michael Robert Thein, in 2010; and mother, Lisa Ann Self, 2003.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Heather Moore, of Alabama, Jenna Rose Kent, of Brentwood, and Matthew and Jamie Thein, of La Quinta; grandmother, Lucy Thein, of San Andreas; grandfather, Michael G. Thein and his wife, Tamara, of Mokelumne Hill; and numerous other family members. 

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 10 in Turner Park in San Andreas. A private family burial will be held at Peoples Cemetery in San Andreas.

ANDAHL — Wes Andahl, 89, of San Andreas, died Sunday at Mark Twain Convalescent Home. A memorial service will be held at at 11:30 a.m. at San Andreas Community Covenant Church, 261 Treat Ave. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. 

CAVAGNARO — Patty May Cavagnaro, 94, of Jamestown, died June 1 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Terzich and Wilson

COLLINS — Virginia Collins, 87, of Jamestown, died Wednesday at her daughter’s home in Rio Vista. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. 

PACIER — Eileen Pacier, 66, of Groveland, died Tuesday, at her home. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements. 

RUBY — Sharon Ruby, 76, of Sonora, died Tuesday at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s long term care unit. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
