Wilma Jean Knowles
March 6, 1933 — July 21, 2013
Jamestown resident Wilma Knowles died July 21 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 80.
Mrs. Knowles was born in Muleshoe, Texas, to Claude and Nova Knowles.
She moved with family to California during the Dust Bowl to be with relatives.
Mrs. Knowles graduated from Sonora High School.
She spent her life as a homemaker, living in Tuolumne County for more than 70 years.
She lived in Jamestown for about the past 10 years.
Mrs. Knowles was a member of Sonora Baptist Church.
She volunteered for the Tuolumne County Museum and History Research Center.
Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by her sister, Minnie Opal Knowles, in 1933.
She is survived by her brothers, Marvin Knowles, of Farmington, Charles “Chuck” Knowles, of Columbia, Clifford Knowles, of Yosemite; and sisters, Lucille Waltz, of Sebring, Fla., Billie Louise Schimmel, of Sonora, and Johnnie Snyder, of Bastrop, La.
No services are planned at her request.
Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

NICKLEY — James H. Nickley Jr., 76, of Groveland, died Monday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
