Thomas Eugene Nolan
Feb. 27, 1932 — July 24, 2011
Mountain Ranch resident Thomas Eugene Nolan died July 24 at his home. He was 79.
Born in Ohio to Lena Pauline and Harley Nolan, he was the oldest of six children and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He worked as a security guard for many years at banks in Stockton and San Francisco, as well as a historical house in Stockton.
He moved to Mountain Ranch in 1988.
He enjoyed fixing and creating things.
Mr. Nolan is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Nolan, of Mountain Ranch; children and their spouses, Melissa and Roy Devaney, of Mountain Ranch, and Kimberly and Jay Moe and Ellen Rogers, all of Stockton; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Amanda Devaney, both of Mountain Ranch, and Katherin Rogers, of Stockton; and sister, Nora Nolan-Porterfield, of Valley Springs.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Altaville Protestant Cemetery in Angels Camp to be followed by a potluck remembrance from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Mountain Ranch Community Park.

Ronald C. Bird
Aug. 26, 1932 — July 22, 2011
Sonora resident Ronald C. Bird died July 22 at his home. He was 78.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, he served in the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver for 30 years.
He was a member of the Teamsters union and enjoyed playing golf.
He lived in Sonora for 15 years.
Mr. Bird is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Janet Bird, of Oakdale; nine nieces and nephews; and two great nieces and nephews.
A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Heuton Memorial Chapel.

Sharon Kay Duncan
April 15, 1943 — July 20, 2011
Jamestown resident Sharon Kay Duncan died July 20 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 68.
Born in Quapaw, Okla., she taught English for the Literacy Volunteers of America in Willits for about four years.
She was a member of the Book Lovers Club in Willits and enjoyed oil painting and watercolors.
She lived in Jamestown for two years.
She is survived by her siblings, Anna Mae Guimarin, of Jamestown, and Robert C. Duncan, of North Highlands.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
A private service is scheduled.
She will be buried in Willits.
Donations can be made to a favorite charity.
