Aaron Jacob Plowman

January 9, 1990 — March 14, 2014

Former Soulsbyville resident Aaron Plowman passed away on March 14 in London, England. He was 24 years old. 

Aaron was born on Jan. 9, 1990 in Fontana, Calif., to Barbi Plowman and Kevin Plowman. He grew up in Twain Harte and then Soulsbyville. He was a senior at Montana State University, majoring in English. 

He is survived by his parents, Barbi Plowman, of Soulsbyville, and Kevin Plowman, of Alaska; and siblings, Damon Plowman and Erica Plowman. 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Sonora Opera Hall, 250 S. Washington St., Sonora. 

Henry “Hank” Wilkins

March 24, 1953 — March 28, 2014

Former Tuolumne County resident Henry “Hank” Wilkins passed away peacefully March 28 at his sister’s home in Shady Cove, Ore. 

He was born March 24, 1953, in Birmingham, Ala., and grew up in the Bay Area. He lived in Tuolumne County for more than 30 years, working primarily in the timber industry as a logger and timber faller. He loved the woods, and spent many weekends with his son Brian cutting firewood, fishing, and picnicking on various rivers and lakes, especially Pinecrest.

Hank was also a talented musician, playing primarily the bass guitar, but could, and did play many other stringed instruments, and even drums. He played with many bands at various times at different clubs throughout the county.

He was preceded in death by his father; and is survived by his mother, Moira; three sisters, Wendy, Leslie, and Pam; two sons, Erin and Brian; and several grandchildren.

A memorial get-together is being planned for a later date in Shady Cove.

Hank will be missed by the friends he has left behind, and joyously greeted by those who passed before. May he rest in peace and joy.

 

Lynda Marie Flanagan

Feb. 19, 1961 — March 26, 2014

Mi-Wuk Village resident Lynda Marie Flanagan passed away after a fairly short battle with cancer at Stanford Hospital on March 26. 

Lynda touched many lives with her kind and loving outlook on life. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and loved caring for her family and home. She enjoyed shopping, her dog Ginger and going out to lunches at Andy’s Mountain Deli with friends.

Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Flanagan; her two beautiful daughters, Becky Flanagan, of Chico, and Amy Flanagan, of Mi-Wuk Village; her parents, Don and Judy Pura, of Los Gatos; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Odette Pura, of Fontana, Calif.; best friend, Tammy Turner; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pat and Jack Flanagan, of West Linn, Ore.; and sister-in-law and her husband, Kerri and David Tefft, of West Linn, Ore.

Services were held in Los Gatos.

LAIOS — Konstantinos “Gus” Laios, 71, of Sonora, died Saturday at his home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

MORRIS — Marlene Morris, 76, of Gravity, died Friday at her home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

POHLE — Russel Frank Pohle, 88, of Angels Camp, died April 2 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. April 15 at Angels Memorial Chapel, 1071 S. Main St. A private family graveside service will follow at Altaville Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Sierra, 20100 Cedar Road North, Sonora, CA 95370. Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

SAPP — Jerome Sapp, 74, of Columbia, died Saturday at Avalon Care Center of Sonora. Heuton Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

TIREY — Former Sonora resident William A. Tirey, 88, of Stockton, died April 1, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Park View Cemetery in French Camp. Park View Cemetery and Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

STEVENS — Melba Stevens, 76, of Tuolumne, died Wednesday at her home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
