TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

12:21 a.m., Jamestown — There was a person seen “creeping” around the parking lot and looking inside vehicles at apartments on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

9:44 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road said someone made unauthorized transactions on her deceased husband’s debit card.

11:31 a.m., Crystal Falls — Someone saw a man jumping on the hood of a woman’s car and yelling on the 21600 block of Crystal Falls Drive.

11:41 a.m., Jamestown — Someone called to report people drinking at Rocca Park and “making a ruckus.” The people were contacted by deputies who did not find any alcohol and determined they were just eating lunch.

12:51 p.m., Groveland — A vehicle was broken into and vandalized on the 10100 block of Yosemite Springs Drive.

3:52 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane applied for a “secret shopper” job online and was sent a check to cash along with other tasks to complete. She cashed the check and completed the requested tasks, but then the check was canceled and her account was overdrawn. A report was taken for fraudulent activities.

5:12 p.m., Soulsbyville — A process server allegedly damaged a woman’s screen door while serving court papers at her residence on the 20600 block of Caylor Drive.

5:53 p.m., Lake Tulloch — Three men on blue and white wave runners stole a 5 mph buoy at the South Shore Lake Tulloch Marina.

11:51 p.m., La Grange — A woman on the 5200 block of Arbolada Drive called to report her neighbor was setting off aerial fireworks in the area. A deputy responded and couldn’t locate any fireworks but advised the man he would go to jail if the fireworks continued.

WEDNESDAY

9:58 a.m., Columbia — Someone said an intoxicated man was sleeping on a porch at a residence on the 22400 block of South Airport Road. Deputies advised the man to stay inside his residence until he was sober.

10:19 a.m., Sonora area — Someone found an ID, credit cards, pills and drug paraphernalia while cleaning up for a previous tenant on the 15000 block of Lakeside Drive.

11:56 a.m., Tuolumne — Two men were fighting on the 19300 block of Cherokee Road. One had a bloody face and the other left in a Jeep. Deputies took a report for battery.

3:27 p.m., Sonora area — Someone on the 17100 block of Alderman Road called to report that a man was shooting off fireworks in the area. He then went toward the Moose Lodge and shot more fireworks. Deputies spoke with a man fitting the description of the suspect, but he denied setting off any fireworks.

6:49 p.m., Twain Harte — Several items were stolen from under and around a cabin on the 22800 block of Sierra Drive.

7:32 p.m., Sonora area — Someone saw “massive” fireworks going off near Woodhams Carne and Buckhorn Mountain roads. Deputies were unable to locate anyone setting off any fireworks in the area.

8:23 p.m., Willow Springs — Several people called to report six people who were setting off loud fireworks at Willow Springs Lake. They were allegedly being belligerent to the neighbors who were asking them to stop. Deputies checked the area and did not see any fireworks.

8:54 p.m., Sonora area — People were setting off fireworks on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road.

9:04 p.m., Sonora area — Someone on the 15700 block of Bev Barron Road said neighbors were setting off fireworks.

9:26 p.m., Sonora area — Someone called to report fireworks being set off in a nearby mobile home park on the 20100 block of Jamestown Road. A man was issued a citation for possession and use of fireworks.

9:34 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 20800 block of Longeway Road saw a male suspect wearing a ski mask break into the gas tank on his vehicle and attempt to siphon gas. The suspect ran off before deputies arrived.

10:26 p.m., Sonora area — Several people were setting off fireworks at the entrance of a mobile home park on the 18300 block of Wards Ferry Road. They were advised the activity was illegal but continued anyway. Deputies arrived and found evidence of fireworks being lit in the area but did not find any suspects.

10:47 p.m., Jamestown — Someone called to report fireworks being set off near Ninth Avenue and Seventh Street. Deputies responded but were unable to locate anything unusual.

11:11 p.m., Sonora — Someone was setting off fireworks a quarter-mile from stables near Crystal Falls and Russian River drives. Deputies checked the area but  were unable to locate any suspects.

11:58 p.m., Sonora area — Someone could hear fireworks somewhere near the 10500 block of Sunshine Hill Road. Deputies checked the area but could not find any fireworks or people outside.

9:46 a.m., Jamestown — Emmanuel Josiah Caballero, 28, of Berryessa Street, Stockton, was booked on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment, after an arrest on the 10100 block of Peppermint Circle.

4:05 p.m., Jamestown — John Cameron Gilbert, 18, of the 10200 block of Preston Lane, was booked on suspicion of possessing stolen property, after an arrest at his home.

4:50 p.m., Sonora — Kari Nichole Abreu, 20, of the 100 block of Greenley Road, and Dakota Louise Little, 19, of the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne, were booked on suspicion of burglary and criminal conspiracy, after an arrest at a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

TUESDAY

4:15 p.m., Sonora — Cynthia Elizabeth Dewitt, 54, of the 18700 block of Hatler Drive, Standard, was arrested at a parking lot on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

8 p.m., Lake Don Pedro — Carl Ray Howell, 44, of the 5200 block of McHenry Boulevard, Modesto, was arrested on suspicion of using a watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs at Buzzard Cove.

9:05 p.m., Jamestown — Eric Kenneth Owens, 47, of the 18100 block of Sixth Avenue, was arrested at Highway 49 and Victoria Way.

9:56 p.m., Lake Don Pedro — Jeffrey Allen Sylvester, 33, of the 1300 block of Old Canyon Road, Fremont, was arrested on suspicion of using a watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the lake.

10:16 p.m., Lake Don Pedro — Ronald Jay Baughman Jr., 24, of the 4700 block of Norma Avenue, Keyes, was arrested on suspicion of using a watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs at Fleming Marina.

WEDNESDAY

1:14 a.m., East Sonora — Dwayne Adam Taylor, 35, of the 13600 block of Kinkade Flat Road, was arrested on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

4:05 p.m., Tuolumne — David James Ingram, 52, of the 20300 block of West View Way, was arrested at Carter Street and Buchanan Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY

10:15 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone called to report a rectangular cardboard box had been left unattended between the courthouse and Tuolumne County offices on South Green Street. The box was gone when officers arrived.

5:58 p.m., theft — A woman said her purse was stolen from her shopping cart at a business on Sanguinetti Road.

WEDNESDAY

12:16 p.m., property damage — Someone called to report extensive damage to a room at a hotel on South Washington Street.

4:55 p.m., controlled substances — Someone said there were six people smoking marijuana on a bench near the playground at Rotary Park on Woods Creek Drive. Officers responded and did not find any marijuana.

TUESDAY

1:29 p.m., Standard area — Fireworks ignited a small spot of grass on the 11000 block of Highway 108. Fire crews from Standard and Green Springs responded and extinguished the grass fire in about an hour. No injuries were reported.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY

1:22 p.m., Valley Springs — Mailboxes were vandalized on Cane Lane.

8:22 p.m., Arnold — Someone called to report fraud at a business on Highway 4.

8:45 p.m., San Andreas — A residence was burglarized on Wimbeldon Drive.

10:01 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Aerial fireworks were being shot off near West Center Street.

10:53 p.m., San Andreas — Unclothed men were hitting each other with pool furniture at a business on West Saint Charles Street.

11:15 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Aerial fireworks were being shot off near Campo Seco Turnpike.

11:23 p.m., San Andreas — An intoxicated man was in the roadway throwing rocks on Sunset Street.

WEDNESDAY

8:32 a.m., Copperopolis — Items were stolen from a residence on Nabo Court.

12:30 p.m., Campo Seco — A report was taken for a disturbance on Buckboard Lane.

9:42 p.m., San Andreas — Someone called to report that juveniles were chasing and pointing fireworks at each other at a gathering on Marshall Avenue.

9:52 p.m., Arnold — Someone on Baywood View called to report fireworks being shot off in the area. A minute later, a caller on Seminole Way reported the same.

10:09 p.m., Douglas Flat — There was an altercation over one person throwing fireworks into another’s yard on Ironwood Court.

4:32 p.m., Valley Springs — Richard Lee Pierce, 59, of the 700 block of Quail Oaks Road, was booked on suspicion of threatening a peace officer and battery against a peace officer, after an arrest at his home.

TUESDAY

11:28 a.m., West Point — Tommie Lee Thomas, 71, of the 100 block of Iris Way, was arrest on Main Street south of Pine Street.

Fire calls

SATURDAY

10:05 p.m., Rancho Calaveras — Fireworks ignited a small grass fire on the 5000 block of Thornicroft Drive. It took two fire engines from Valley Springs and Jenny Lind about an hour and a half to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported and only a small spot of grass vegetation burned.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

SUNDAY

2:30 a.m., East Sonora — A woman on who said she was kidnapped from The Junction shopping center and assaulted was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. 

11:59 a.m., Sonora area — A man on the 17100 block of Valley Oak Drive thought the cable guy stole his teacup chihuahua but ended up finding it later. 

MONDAY

11:37 a.m., Jamestown — A woman in Tracy said her purse was stolen at a business on the 16900 block of Chicken Ranch Road.

3:42 p.m., Sonora — Someone claimed that a woman stole jewelry and a credit card from a residence on the 17600 block of Yosemite Road.

8:32 p.m., Twain Harte — Someone called to report a 20-gauge shotgun was stolen during a burglary at a residence on the 23100 block of Chamise Drive.

9:02 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 17700 block of Rolling Hills Boulevard received a call from a man Friday stating she had a virus on her computer. She later realized she had been scammed.

4:45 a.m., Sonora area — Roy Allan Chandler Jr., 26, transient, was booked on suspicion of assault and burglary, after an arrest on the 19500 block of Callahan Road.

7:36 p.m., Twain Harte — Brian Henry Wilkins, 27, of the 22800 block of Miners Avenue, was booked on suspicion of robbery and committing a felony while released on bail, after an arrest on the 22900 block of Miners Avenue.

9:15 p.m., Jamestown — Pamela Lynn Patterson, 55, unknown address, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, after an arrest on Highway 120 at Keystone.

MONDAY

3:59 a.m., Soulsbyville area — David Earl Guerin, 28, of Sonora, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest on the 16600 block of Allison Way.

2:30 p.m., Tuolumne area — Bradley Jay Wolfley, 47, of the 1600 block of Sylvan Avenue, Modesto, arrested at River Ranch Campground on Cottonwood Road.

10:10 p.m., Phoenix Lake area — Jeffry Hugh Cochrane, 56, of the 3700 block of Farmhill Boulevard, Redwood City, arrested on Forest Road SN5L near Kewin Mill Road and Estralita Drive.

SUNDAY

1:34 a.m., Jamestown area — Jackie Lee Grider, 48, of Kentucky, arrested on Highway 49 at Montezuma Junction. 

7:19 p.m., Sonora area — Robert Michael Gomez, 24, of the 18700 block of Main Street, Tuolumne, arrested on Standard Road south of Mono Way.

8:05 p.m., Soulsbyville area — Michah Don Hicks, 27, of an unknown address, arrested on Soulsbyville Road at Highway 108.

MONDAY

1:30 a.m., East Sonora — Carl Scott Wolther, 63, of the 19100 block of Hillsdale Drive, arrested at Old Wards Ferry Road and Highway 108.

7:45 p.m., Twain Harte area — Robert Joseph Byrnes, 47, of the 35600 block of Cabral Drive, Fremont, arrested at South Fork and Little Fuller roads.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

9:53 a.m., animal complaints — A 30-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of having dogs at large after an officer responded to Cielo Vista Way and found two dogs loose in the area.

11:14 a.m., traffic accidents — There was a non-injury accident involving a Tuolumne County fire prevention vehicle at South Washington and Lytton streets.

12:47 p.m., traffic violations — A 70-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of failing to obey an officer on Sanguinetti Road.

2:49 p.m., theft — A report was taken for the theft of medications from a man’s unlocked apartment on Greenley Road.

8:57 p.m., weapons violations — Someone on Fairview Lane heard several firecrackers set off near the area. Officers were unable to locate any suspects.

11:55 p.m., public intoxication — A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at Sonora Regional Medical Center after becoming agitated when hospital staff would not let him in the birthing center to see his child because of his alleged intoxication.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

SUNDAY

9:36 a.m., Campo Seco — Theft was reported on Buckboard Lane.

7:17 p.m., Camp Connell — A home was broken into on Shoshone Drive.

7:32 p.m., Wallace — A person was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on Whalen Road. 

11:04 p.m., Angels Camp — A public intoxication arrest was made on Murphys Grade Road. 

MONDAY

7:12 a.m., Valley Springs — A house was egged on Gold Nugget Drive. 

9:03 a.m., Wallace — Someone called to report a theft on Ospital Road.

1:10 a.m., Valley Springs — Michael Garner Ward, 26, of the 30 block of Pelican Place, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, after an arrest on the 30 block of Pelican Place. 

10 a.m., San Andreas — Joseph Frank Solar III, 38, of the 1800 block of Gold Strike Road, booked on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm, after an arrest on Lewis Avenue.

MONDAY

8:48 a.m., San Andreas — Krista Lyn Jardine, 25, of the 400 block of East Saint Charles Street, was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary, after an arrest at her home.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

7:06 a.m., La Grange — Gas was stolen from two vehicles in the 14000 block of Isabel Way. One vehicle had its gas tank punctured while the other had gas syphoned. 

7:59 a.m., Jamestown — A woman in Oakland sent a picture of her son’s genitals to another person in the 17000 block of Shell Road. When police contacted the woman, she said that her ex-boyfriend kicked her son in the genitals and she sent a picture of the injury to a relative. The woman said she reported the child abuse and that the police were looking for her ex-boyfriend.

8:00 a.m., Columbia — A woman in the 12000 block of Sugar Plum Lane said she was worried that a man she met online would harm her and she discovered he was using a fake name.

8:06 a.m., Sonora — A woman in the 16000 block of West Brookside Drive reported that her 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun was missing.

8:30 a.m., La Grange — A woman reported that items were stolen from her unlocked vehicle in the 14000 block of Isabel Way during the night.

9:03 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman reported that she had been filmed on a “spycam” in the bathroom of a home in the 20000 block of Canyonview Drive. She was in possession of the camera and said that another woman had been recorded as well.

10:48 a.m., Twain Harte — A man reported that a neighbor was dumping dead fish into his construction trash bin in the 22000 block of Meadow Drive. 

10:58 a.m., Twain Harte — Someone thought they saw people stealing construction supplies from a house in the 23000 block of Old Meuli Trail. Authorities responded and found that the people were current tenants of the house and had not stolen anything.

11:49 a.m., Sonora — An air compressor, hose and two sets of cordless drills were stolen from a construction site in the 16000 block of Draper Mine Road.

11:59 a.m., La Grange — A man in the 1600 block of Zarzamora Street reported being scammed out of $2,000 by someone claiming to be a relative. The person called saying he was the man’s grandson and that he needed the money after an accident in Mexico. The man later found out that the caller was not his grandson.

4:48 p.m., Groveland — A woman threw a chair at a maroon Dodge pickup, breaking the vehicle’s windshield near the Iron Door Saloon in the 18000 block of Main Street.

5:18 p.m., Standard — At least one cow was loose near Standard Park on Tuolumne Road.

7:14 p.m., Sonora — A woman said she paid $30 for gas, but forgot to pump it at a gas station in the 8700 block of Highway 49. When the woman tried to pump the gas later, the clerk refused. The store eventually gave the woman her money back.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

1 p.m., Dog in distress — A dog was left in the back of a pickup without food or water for 10 minutes. Someone thought the dog was in danger and took it indoors and called the police. An officer determined the dog was not in distress and returned it to the truck.

3:41 p.m., Abuse — A woman reported that her son’s girlfriend pulled her hair, punched her and threw her on the ground. The woman wasn’t sure if her jaw was broken, but declined medical attention.

1:52 p.m., Columbia — Brad Carlton Damerell, 53, of the 22000 block of Parrotts Ferry Road, was booked on suspicion of bringing drugs into jail and misdemeanor disorderly conduct after an arrest on Parrotts Ferry Road.

4:04 p.m., Sonora — Deborah Anne Martin, 51, of the 300 block of Fairview Lane, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and the transportation and sale of drugs after an arrest at home.

9:26 p.m., Sonora — Harley David Maxwell, 43, of the 21000 block of El Conojo Way, was booked on suspicion of drug possession for sale and misdemeanor driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia after an arrest on Highway 49 at Sierra Rock Road.

6:58 p.m., Sonora —  Tracy Catherine Bentley, 43, of the 20000 block of Bay Meadow Drive, arrested on Highway 108 at Montezuma Junction.

7:53 p.m., Jamestown — Bryant Kevin Shock, 57, of the 18000 block of Main Street, arrested at Main Street and Highway 49.
