Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

7 a.m., Jamestown area — A man said a co-worker who has been harassing the caller at work followed him to work this morning on Golf Links Road.

7 a.m., Crystal Falls — A man on the 22400 block of Rhine River Drive East said a portable generator was stolen from the back of his pickup truck.

8:05 a.m., Sonora area — A man on the 10500 block of Mt. Brow Road said tools were taken from his barn.

8:52 p.m., Groveland — A man said a refrigerator was stolen and replaced with an older dirty one at a house on the 20700 block of Rising Hill Circle, possibly by the former tenants who had been evicted.

11:17 a.m., Don Pedro area — A woman on the 3800 block of Castillo Way said a man has goats and a boat on her property without her permission.

12:04 p.m., Crystal Falls —A caller on the 22400 block of Rhine River Drive East said a cell phone and other items were stolen from a vehicle parked there.

12:18 p.m., Groveland — A caller said an ornamental horse's head was stolen off a post in front of the Old Groveland Jail on Ponderosa Lane.

12:53 p.m., Crystal Falls area — A man said another man hit him in the eye while the two were at a convenience store on the 20900 block of Longeway Road.

1:47 p.m., Lambert Lake Estates — A woman said a man tried to pick up her daughter after she got off a school bus on Lambert Lake Road last week.

2:13 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a man and a woman in a Chevy S-10 pickup truck were fighting while driving on Tuolumne Road.

4:04 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a woman with crutches was sitting in front of a store at The Junction shopping center asking people for money.

5:42 p.m., Pinecrest — A woman who was hiking around Pinecrest Lake with two other women hurt her ankle and was unable to walk out. A fire crew helped the woman back to her car.

6:16 p.m., Twain Harte — A man with a baseball bat at Twain Harte Elementary School on Manzanita Drive was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness.

6:28 p.m., Groveland — A Two Guys Pizza Pie employee was assaulted by a teenage boy in the restaurant on the 18900 block of Ferretti Road.

7:06 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said teens were spitting, swearing and lying in a breezeway at Jamestown Terrace Apartments on Preston Lane.

8:06 p.m., Columbia — A 37-year-old Murphys man was arrested on suspicion of riding a bicycle while drunk after a California Highway Patrol officer stopped him on Parrotts Ferry Road at Church Street.

8:24 p.m., Big Oak Flat — A man said a 40-year-old woman smashed the window of a van parked on the 11300 block of Wards Ferry Road with a two-by-four.

YESTERDAY

12:09 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man said another man hit the caller in the face and caused an injury while the two were at the 24500 block of Highway 108.

4:40 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman said a strange man wearing red shorts and a black shirt was banging on the door at a neighbor's house and yelling.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

6:09 p.m., Sonora — Leroy Gary Wolvert, 43, of the 21100 block of Shaws Flat Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of aiding or concealing a felon, and Shannon Deeann Randi, 40, also of the 21100 block of Shaws Flat Road, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging her with forgery, burglary and false impersonation after an arrest on the 100 block of North Stewart Street.

According to a Sonora police report, Officer John Mager stopped a car driven by Wolvert in which Randi was a passenger. Randi ran away but Mager caught up with her and arrested her on the warrant. Wolvert was arrested because he knew Randi was wanted and did not turn her in, said Police Chief Mace McIntosh.

Wolvert and Randi remained held in Tuolumne County Jail this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail each.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Larry Keith Smith, 60, 7000 block of Dusty Lane, Modesto, booked at 12:35 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Tuolumne Road at Nugget Boulevard, Standard.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

9:25 a.m., traffic violations — A 48-year-old man was cited for driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop on Stockton Road.

9:51 a.m., theft — A man came to the police station to say items had been stolen from a house under construction on Morning Star Drive.

11:19 a.m., theft — A caller said a cash bag was stolen from the Victoria Room on South Washington Street over the weekend.

11:52 a.m., warrant arrest — A 21-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant after a traffic stop on Hospital Road.

1:14 p.m., theft — A woman said a purse with medication inside was stolen overnight from a vehicle parked at Tuolumne General Hospital.

5:39 p.m., animal complaints — A dog owner was cited for not having the animal on a leash at Woods Creek Rotary Park.

5:42 p.m., theft — A cell phone was stolen from a vehicle parked on Delnero Drive.

6:46 p.m., animal complaints — A caller said a 13-year-old boy was bitten on the leg by an Australian shepherd dog on the 800 block of Shaws Flat Road.

7:07 p.m., theft — A purse containing a driver's license, bank card, cash and keys was stolen from a business on the 80 block of North Washington Street.

Fires

YESTERDAY

8:30 a.m., Groveland — A small spot fire was reported on the 20800 block of McKinley Street. No damage was reported. Cause is under investigation. Eleanor Provost of the same address owns the property. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Groveland Community Services District Fire Department responded.

7:15 p.m., Phoenix Lake area — A small fire was reported on the 20600 block of Lower Hillview Drive. An electrical short sparked the flames, which caused $500 damage to the outside lights and siding. Norman Reed of the same address owns the home. Tuolumne County Fire Department and CDF responded.

7:30 p.m., Sonora — A small fire was reported at Banny's Cafe on the 80 block of South Stewart Street. CDF, Sonora City Fire Department and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Felony bookings

YESTERDAY

12:05 a.m., Copperopolis — Steven Stewart Beck, 46, 2100 block of Petersburg Drive, Milpitas, booked on a felony battery charge and suspicion of violating a restraining order. As of this morning, he remained in custody at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Amy Nicole Brodston, 21, 500 block of Williams Street, Murphys, booked at 12:43 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 4, west of Rolleri Bypass Road in Angels Camp.

Fires

YESTERDAY

12:45 p.m., Vallecito area — A small spot fire was reported at Natural Bridges off Parrotts Ferry Road. No damage was reported. A passing vehicle sparked the flames. CDF and Murphys Fire Protection District responded.

5 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A one-acre grass fire was reported on Highway 26. Damage was estimated at $200, and a vehicle accident ignited the flames. Robert Blakely of Valley Springs owns the vehicle. CDF, two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp, Mokelumne Hill Fire Protection District, San Andreas Fire Protection District, Foothill Fire Protection District and one spotter plane, two air tankers and one helicopter from Columbia Air Base responded.
