Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

8:06 a.m., Twain Harte — A 7-Eleven employee said after he looked at a store surveillance video tape, he saw a man he recognized take beer from the store Wednesday.

10:55 a.m., Big Oak Flat — A man on the 17000 block of Highway 120 said a garage was broken into over the last three weeks.

12 p.m., Don Pedro area — A man on the 8900 block of Las Cruces Road said a neighbor was shooting a gun and scaring his horses.

1:18 p.m., East Sonora — A woman on the 14600 block of Mono Way complained that a neighbor put a bag of trash by her can that was removed when a trash company picked it up.

2:25 p.m., Tuolumne — A man on the 18000 block of Fir Avenue said a woman, angry because she had been told to slow down a couple of days earlier, sped after him in her silver car, locked up her brakes and slid sideways.

2:49 p.m., Shaws Flat — A Tuolumne County schools employee found a brief case, a driver's license and several credit cards on near the old Shaws Flat School, on the 21100 block of Shaws Flat Road.

2:54 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said a man was hitting a woman while the two were in a blue Toyota Tercel on Seventh Street near Fifth Avenue.

3:48 p.m., Wards Ferry Road area — A woman on the 17800 block of Tinnin Road said someone set a dried plant on fire on her back deck, burning a hole in it.

3:52 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman found a wallet on Golf Club Drive near the Twain Harte Golf Course.

3:55 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 21900 block of Columbia Crest Drive said a metal cattle guard was stolen in the last week.

5:15 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a teenage girl was inside the fenced area of the Twain Harte swimming pool and appeared to be either drunk or on drugs.

5:47 p.m., Mono Village — A man on the 14500 block of Lolly Lane said a laptop computer was stolen from his house.

6:31 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 19500 block of Juanita Way said a diamond ring was stolen from her house.

6:46 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said her mother's neighbor has been acting strangely and left a lot of his belongings on her porch.

8:03 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said two teenage boys were drinking beer in front of a store at The Junction shopping center.

8:41 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller on the 19000 block of Middle Camp-Sugar Pine Road said a man showed up at the house and said his girlfriend smashed an ashtray over his head during a fight. Paramedics were called to the house to take care of the man.

8:47 p.m., Phoenix Lake area — A woman on the 21000 block of Phoenix Lake Road said a man wearing camouflage clothing was sleeping in bushes near her property.

FRIDAY

6:57 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said drug paraphernalia was found along the side of a building on the 18300 block of Highway 108.

10:50 a.m., Sonora area — A caller on Bergel Road said someone was living in a vehicle parked nearby. The person has been told several times to leave the area, the caller said.

1:02 p.m., Groveland — A woman said someone stole a telescope from the deck of an inn on the 18600 block of Main Street.

6:09 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said a man came onto her property on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road and chopped up two trees that had already been cut down and took the wood, she said.

6:57 p.m., Groveland — A man on Big Foot Circle said someone shot a deer with a BB gun.

7:16 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 10400 block of Mountain Brow Road said three men in a sports car drove up her driveway and asked her kids where they could get some cocaine. When the woman told the group to leave, one of the men said they were coming back for her, she said.

7:22 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said someone took her day planner from her car. The planner contained credit cards, a Social Security card and a driver's license, she said.

7:54 p.m., Sonora area — A man said someone in a truck was driving on the fifth fairway at Phoenix Lake Golf Course.

8:03 p.m., Twain Harte area — A woman said two men were fighting on the patio of a business on the 23300 block of Highway 108.

9:14 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A man on the 16200 block of Caddo Circle said he just arrived home and noticed his front door was broken. He said he was afraid to go inside.

SATURDAY

5:19 a.m., Pinecrest — A caller on Pinecrest Lake Road said a man showed up at his campsite with a bloody face. The man was disoriented and had no idea which campsite he came from, the caller said.

6:16 a.m., Sonora area — A deputy said the exit gate at Standard Park had been vandalized or hit by a vehicle during the night. The park's manager said the gate was valued at $1,000 and wasn't reparable.

8:27 a.m., Groveland — A woman on the 12400 block of Tannahill Drive said a man who used to work across the street at a construction site kept coming by her house. Her husband told him to leave, she said.

10:01 a.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 22300 block of South Fork Road said a vehicle's windshield was smashed.

12:39 p.m., Columbia — A man on the 11600 block of Columbia College Drive said someone slashed a tire on his truck.

4:56 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A woman said a man pulled up in front of her house on the 16500 block of Creekside Drive and started looking inside her car. The man eventually walked away, leaving his car behind.

6:21 p.m., Jamestown area — A guard at the Sierra Conservation Center on O'Byrnes Ferry Road said someone rammed a prison vehicle with a recreational vehicle, then took off on a bicycle into a ravine.

7:16 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 16800 block of American River Drive said a gray Chrysler has been parked on his property for about a week.

YESTERDAY

12:57 a.m., Jamestown — A man on Seco Street said three or four people were yelling and waving guns at a home on the corner of Seco Street and Preston Lane.

1:02 a.m., Twain Harte area — A woman said her friend's vehicle was vandalized while they were at a party. All the windows were kicked out and the hood was bashed in, she said, leaving the vehicle undrivable.

8:58 a.m., Sonora area — A man on the 21500 block of Phoenix Lake Road said someone was growing marijuana.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Sandi Louise Andrews, 51, 13100 block of Big Hill Road, Sonora, booked at 7:46 p.m. Thursday after arrest on Stewart Street at Gold Street.

Eric Christopher Kohl, 37, 24200 block of North Oxbow Lane, Sonora, booked at 9:45 p.m. Thursday after arrest on Highway 120 at Whites Gulch Road, Groveland.

Sonora police reports

THURSDAY

7:12 a.m., theft — A caller found a bag of cosmetology supplies on a fence on the 100 block of Columbia Way.

1:13 p.m., theft — A caller on the 400 block of Alpine Lane said items were stolen from a vehicle.

2:53 p.m., theft — A Grocery Outlet employee said two teenage boys took items from the store, then went to a nearby fast-food restaurant. The employee confronted the boys at the restaurant and retrieved the items. The boys then went to a hill near the store and made threatening gestures toward the employee.

3:34 p.m., traffic accident — The drivers of two vehicles that collided on Bradford Street at Green Street were arguing when an officer arrived.

7:13 p.m., public fight — An ambulance driver said as he was passing by Restano Way, he saw three or four women arguing. One woman then jumped into the road and was almost hit by a passing vehicle.

FRIDAY

2:01 a.m., assault — An assault was reported on the first block of South Washington Street.

10:43 a.m., theft — A woman said some items were take from her car while it was parked on the first block of South Forest Road.

1:43 p.m., theft — A caller said a young man stole meat and beer from Pak-N-Save.

1:48 p.m., vandalism — A woman on the 300 block of South Stewart Street said someone scratched graffiti onto her side door.

5:11 p.m., burglary — A burglary was reported on the 200 block of Greenley Road.

8:03 p.m., burglary — A caller on the 100 block of North Stewart Street said someone stole checks and forged them.

SATURDAY

1:58 a.m., traffic violation — A 44-year-old man was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license on the 500 block of Stockton Road.

8:36 a.m., traffic violation — A 21-year-old man was cited on suspicion of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license on North Shepherd.

12:40 p.m., traffic violation — A caller said a reckless driver in a pickup with a load of hay almost hit three pedestrians as he sped through the parking lot on the 300 block of Barretta Street. The man later went to the Sonora Police Department to apologize for the driving and said it would never happen again.

2:28 p.m., theft — A caller said a customer left without paying their $25 bill at a restaurant on the 800 block of Sanguinetti Road.

4:28 p.m., public intoxication —A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the first block of South Stewart Street.

YESTERDAY

1:22 a.m., public intoxication — Two men, ages 23 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the first block of South Stewart Street.

FRIDAY

7:51 a.m., Mountain Ranch — A business on the 6500 block of Rail Road Flat Road was reported burglarized.

7:02 p.m., Jenny Lind — A business on the 10000 block of Shalimar Drive was reported burglarized.

9 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A man on the first block of Ridge Road said someone who used to live at his residence broke in and took some of his belongings.

SATURDAY

10 a.m., Valley Springs — A cell phone was reported stolen on the 1800 block of South Peterburg Road.

11:22 a.m., Jenny Lind — A caller said someone broke the lock on a gate at a business on the 10000 block of Shalimar Drive.

12:24 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said a home on the 1800 block of Goldstrike Road was burglarized. A window was broken and someone threw paint on the back of the house, the caller said.

4:41 p.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 400 block of St. Charles Street said an elderly man accidentally got in the wrong car and did not understand it was not his car to drive.

7:37 p.m., Arnold — A caller said a home on the 2000 block of Thunderbolt Trail was vandalized. The gate was torn down, motion-detector lights were ripped off and screens on two windows were removed, the caller said.

FRIDAY

10 a.m., Murphys — Christina Marie Effken, 47, 600 block of William Street, Murphys, was booked on an out-of-county warrant for possessing a controlled substance after arrest at her home. She was transported to a jail elsewhere.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Scott Donald Chesnut, 48, 300 block of South Main Street, Angels Camp, booked at 9 p.m. Friday after arrest at his home. He was cited and released.

Edwin Moses Hart, 28, Highway 4, Hathaway Pines, booked at 12:15 a.m. Friday after arrest at Bret Harte Union High School in Angels Camp. He was cited and released.

Frank Joseph Poso, Jr., 21, 400 block of Russells Road, San Andreas, booked at 3:37 a.m. Saturday after arrest at a Russells Road apartment complex. He was cited and released.

Christina Richison, 33, 13000 block of Castle Road, Manteca, booked at 3:10 a.m. Friday after arrest at the intersection of highways 12 and 26 in Valley Springs. She was cited and released.

Fires

THURSDAY

11:20 a.m., West Point — A small spot fire was reported on the 2300 block of Spink Road. Damage was estimated at $250,000 to a 30-by-50 foot fabrication shop and its contents. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Jay Biern of the same address owns the property. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, West Point Fire Protection District, all aircraft from Columbia Air Base and Central Fire Protection District responded.
