Sheriff's reports

WEDNESDAY

7:31 a.m., Tuolumne area — A caller said a vehicle was blocking the bus entrance to Summerville High School on the 17500 block of Tuolumne Road.

7:39 a.m., Standard area — Construction tools were stolen from the back of a pickup truck parked on the 14800 block of Peaceful Valley Road.

9:24 a.m., Jamestown area — A man at C&C Mini Mart said $103.20 worth of gasoline was stolen by someone who knew the pump codes to the gasoline station on the 9900 block of Victoria Way.

10:26 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man said a suspicious red RV-type vehicle with Oregon license plates has been parking all over Mi-Wuk Village.

1:48 p.m., Long Barn — A man said his pocket bike was stolen from outside his house on Long Barn Road near Highway 108.

2:24 p.m., Curtis Creek Ranch area — A woman found a purse on the 19000 block of Black Oak Road.

3:28 p.m., Sonora — A Sonora Regional Medical Center emergency room employee said a man was being treated for injuries he sustained in a fight on Sunday in Jamestown.

3:46 p.m., Columbia area — A woman on the 11400 block of Columbia Village Drive said someone punctured a tire on her husband's truck.

5:15 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a cell phone and a torch lighter were stolen from Villa D'Oro on the 23000 block of Joaquin Gully Road last week.

5:30 p.m., Willow Springs — A man said he received a phone call from a woman claiming to be part of the Soulsbyville Firefighters Fund collecting donations for burn victims. He felt the call was a scam.

5:45 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A man on the 16500 block of Brookview Drive said a golf ball was thrown through a skylight on his roof.

6:47 p.m., Sugar Pine area — A caller said a gate was unlocked and a security screen door unlocked at a house on the 25000 block of Long Barn-Sugar Pine Road.

7:58 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said five teenage boys and girls were hanging around Rocca Park causing problems.

8:29 p.m., Tuttletown — A man said a strange man was hanging around the boat ramp on Reynolds Ferry Road and tried to talk to the caller's wife and child. When the man saw the caller he drove off in a red sedan.

9:10 p.m., Columbia area — A man said a woman carrying a handicap placard, wearing flowered shorts and a sweater top was walking down the middle of Yankee Hill Road near town and appeared to be disoriented.

9:57 p.m., Jamestown — A man said he saw a young child screaming "I want my Mom," then running away from an adult on Preston Lane near Seco Street.

10:59 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A man said when he and some friends were out in the woods on Forest Service Road 3N52, one of the men punched him in the face.

11:02 p.m., Mono Vista — A caller said people were shooting a pellet gun on Sunny Circle.

WEDNESDAY

4:45 a.m., Twain Harte area — Ryan Anthony Thomas, 25, no address given, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and evading a peace officer and driving without a license, a misdemeanor, after an arrest on Tuolumne Road North at East Avenue.

According to a sheriff's report, Thomas sped past two patrol deputies in downtown Twain Harte. They chased him, at times reaching speeds of about 65 mph. When Thomas turned onto East Avenue, he attempted to make a left turn but instead crashed into an embankment.

Inside Thomas' car were two women who said they were pleading with Thomas to stop the car, to which he replied "I can't stop, I'm sorry." When the deputies searched Thomas, they found a small baggie of methamphetamine in his wallet. No one was hurt in the crash.

Thomas remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Sonora police reports

WEDNESDAY

8:12 a.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on the 400 block of South Washington Street.

8:15 a.m., parking violation — A caller said a vehicle up on jacks with the wheels off the ground had been parked in a three-hour parking space for the past three days in Old Town Sonora on South Stewart Street.

9:14 a.m., burglary — A caller on the 100 block of West Bradford Avenue said her house was broken into through a window overnight.

9:17 a.m., theft — CDs were stolen from a unlocked vehicle parked on the 600 block of North Arbona Circle.

9:20 a.m., miscellaneous — A caller said an abandoned vehicle was parked up against a fence at a shopping center on Stockton Road for the past week.

10:55 a.m., burglary — A caller on the 100 block of Tidwall Street said an unlocked car was gone through overnight.

4:20 p.m., assault — A man on Monte Vista Lane said he was assaulted by another man at a woman's house.

7:13 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said men were yelling from Coffill Park.

10:18 p.m., threats — A caller on Shaws Flat Road received a death threat via a computer.

10:29 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman on Orchard Avenue said a man stands on top of his vehicle and looks into her windows every night.

YESTERDAY

1:20 a.m., miscellaneous — A 19-year-old man and woman were cited and released for being in Coffill Park after hours.

YESTERDAY

8:26 a.m., Columbia area — An illegal burn barrel was reported on the 22600 block of Sawmill Flat Road. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Columbia Fire Protection District responded.

5:18 p.m., Big Hill area — A spot fire covering one-eighth of an acre was reported on the 23800 block of Stagecoach Road. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department, Mi-Wuk-Sugar Pine Fire Protection District, one crew from Baseline Conservation Camp, one engine from the U.S. Forest Service, and one spotter plane, two air tankers and one helicopter from Columbia Air Base responded.

12:48 p.m., Railroad Flat — An ongoing dispute between a landlord and tenants was reported on the first block of Ridge Road.

1:04 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said a car was broken into on the first block of Main Street.

2:14 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said two men were arguing on Pine Street. One of the men was later arrested.

2:56 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller said items were stolen from a construction site on Rockridge Drive.

3:28 p.m., Wilseyville — A caller said a vehicle was vandalized on the 5000 block of Blue Mountain Road.

3:45 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller said a house on the 3800 block of Little John Road was burglarized.

6:28 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said a man and woman were performing a lewd act in a car in a parking lot on the 800 block of Mountain Ranch Road.

6:46 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said hay was blocking Highway 12 near Briski Hill.

6:47 p.m., West Point — A caller said he was going to shoot hunters near his property on the 20700 block of Highway 26.

7:12 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller reported a verbal fight between neighbors on the 200 block of Highway 12.

7:28 p.m., Copperopolis — A woman on the 3200 block of Yana Court said she found a strange substance in a plastic baggy.

8:29 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said a man on the 1000 block of Mockingbird Hill was acting crazy and throwing things out the door.

10:54 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller said two men were walking on the 3500 block of Quail Hill Drive, close to a property line.

YESTERDAY

12:08 a.m., San Andreas — A man on the 400 block of East St. Charles Street said plants on his balcony were destroyed.

TODAY

4:22 a.m., Angels Camp — Kevin Lee Ellington, 44, unknown address, booked on suspicion of transporting drugs between counties, possessing drugs for sale, evading an officer, resisting arrest, being under the influence of drugs and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol with a suspended license. As of this morning, Ellington remained in custody at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $188,000 bail.
