Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7:20 a.m., Crystal Falls — A man said a shed and firehouse on the 21600 block of Crystal Falls Drive were burglarized and phone lines were cut.

8:17 a.m., Tuolumne — A man said items were taken out of the back of his pickup truck parked on the 20700 block of Ponderosa Way.

10:20 a.m., Long Barn area — A man said he lost a shotgun out of the back of his pickup truck while driving on Forest Service Road 3N26 behind Hull Creek.

10:49 a.m., Jamestown — The owner of Jamestown Car Wash on the 18400 block of Jamestown Road said trash was illegally dumped in front of his business.

2:09 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said a "scruffy-looking man wearing woodsman clothing" was looking "tipsy" and bothering people at the intersection of Twain Harte Drive and Black Oak Elementary School.

2:11 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on Willow Avenue said she caught a 19-year-old man on her granddaughter's bed at 4 a.m.

3:21 p.m., Groveland — A man said he was assaulted by another man while the two were at Pine Mountain Lake Campground on Ferretti Road. The man was treated for injuries to his eye.

4:21 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said skateboarders were on top of a building on the 18300 block of Bay Avenue over the weekend and damaged it.

5:32 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man said a sign and a stand were stolen from the Mi-Wuk Water Co.

7:19 p.m., Columbia area — A caller said a possibly drunken man was walking south from the Columbia Post Office toward Sonora on Parrotts Ferry Road "flipping people off."

8:41 p.m., Columbia — A woman said a man in a Ford SUV was parked in the drive-through area at the Columbia Post Office coughing. She thought the man might be in distress. The man was gone when a deputy arrived.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

8:30 p.m., Groveland — Jill Heller, 37, 22900 block of Ferretti Road, Groveland, booked on suspicion of burglary, attempted grand theft, forgery and misdemeanor petty theft after an arrest at her home.

According to a sheriff's report, Heller is suspected of stealing her former employer's purse then wrote a check for $500 and tried to cash it at a bank.

The bank notified the check's owner that they could not cash the check because the signatures did not match. Heller was questioned and arrested at her home.

She remained held this morning in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Michelle D. Taber, 30, 12800 block of Chukar Circle, Sonora, booked at 12:03 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Greenley Road, Sonora.

Sonora police reports

MONDAY

8:42 a.m., traffic accident — Vehicles were damaged in an accident in the Sonora Regional Medical Center parking lot on Greenley Road.

12:11 a.m., agency assist — An electrical transformer blew up at a power pole near Mono Way and Greenley Road.

12:13 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller found a "beeping device" with a Wal-Mart label on it hanging on a tree on Stockton Road. The device was picked up by a sheriff's deputy.

1:42 p.m., traffic accident — A truck with a crane on the back got hung up on Shaws Flat Road past Sonora High School bus barn.

6:42 p.m., vandalism — A vending machine was vandalized at Tuolumne General Hospital.

9:57 p.m., warrant arrest — A 22-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants after a traffic stop on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

1:23 p.m., Wilseyville — A caller said irreplaceable items were stolen from a home on the 4200 block of Blue Mountain Road.

5:50 p.m., San Andreas — A vehicle parked in the Calaveras High School parking lot was vandalized.

6:09 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller said juveniles were loitering on the 1600 block of Sawmill Road.

7:55 p.m., Vallecito — A caller said a white truck backed up to a fence at a Highway 4 chain saw shop and three men were moving items into the back of the pickup. A deputy found one of the men moving items was the shop's owner.

9:48 p.m., West Point — A caller said there was a suspicious vehicle parked at the town's laundromat.

9:50 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 3900 block of Paolini Drive said her 17-year-old son was acting up, but she now had him under control.

11:37 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said a group was fighting in the street on the 6100 block of Hironymous Court. An arrest was made.

YESTERDAY

12:01 a.m., San Andreas — A suspicious person was reported on the 800 block of Highway 49.

MONDAY

9 a.m., Valley Springs — Derold Von Odom, 54, 5000 block of Cox Drive, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of transporting drugs for sale, possessing marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Odom was released from custody after posting $75,000 bail.

8:49 p.m., San Andreas — Steven Gardner Edwards, 51, 1700 block of Evergreen Road, Arnold, booked on suspicion of committing willful cruelty to a child and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. As of this morning, Edwards remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $85,000 bail.

YESTERDAY

12:42 a.m., Valley Springs — Erik Keith Wilson, 23, 4300 block of Rail Road Flat Road, Mountain Ranch, booked on suspicion of possessing drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia, possessing marijuana while driving, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to register as a controlled substance offender. Wilson remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.
