Sheriff's reports

SUNDAY

2:40 p.m., Wards Ferry area — A man on Old Wards Ferry Road said he found a purse on his property.

4:11 p.m., Jamestown — A man said windows at his house on the 18100 block of Sixth Street were shot at either by a BB or pellet gun.

5:39 p.m., Groveland — A man said a woman with dark hair and a backpack was sitting by the side of Merrell Road near Highway 120 looking confused. The woman was gone by the time a deputy arrived.

6:07 p.m., Twain Harte — A man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after he was found in front of Twain Harte Market on Tiffeni Drive.

6:36 p.m., Sonora area — A caller said a man dressed in camouflage driving a white pickup truck was shooting from the cab across Highway 49 about 200 yards south of Parrotts Ferry Road.

7:06 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a woman in a red sweater and a man wearing no shirt were walking on Twain Harte Drive making obscene gestures at passing cars.

10:10 p.m., Jamestown — A man was cited on suspicion of possessing a hypodermic needle after being stopped by a deputy on Seco Street near Main Street.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

4:27 p.m., Sonora — Jimmy Don Harrison, 25, 1000 block of Fourth Street, Modesto, booked on a warrant charging him with possession and sale of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled narcotic substance, failure to appear in court and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle after he was brought to the county jail from the Stanislaus County Jail. He remained held this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.

11:17 p.m., Sonora — Stuart Maurice Watkins, 18, 11300 block of Columbia Village Drive, Columbia, booked on a warrant charging him with passing worthless checks after a traffic stop and arrest on School Street at Snell Street. He was released yesterday on his own recognizance after appearing in court.

SATURDAY

1:40 a.m., Twain Harte — Brian Matthew Corr, 19, 4000 block of Glenn Abby Circle, Stockton, booked on suspicion of a forged identification card and misdemeanor public drunkenness after an arrest on Fuller Road at Meadow Lane. No details were available. He was released Saturday after posting $10,000 bail.

4:19 p.m., Sonora — William Joseph Poe, 66, 1000 block of Casitas Pass Road, Carpenteria, Santa Barbara County, booked on a Salinas County warrant charging him with petty theft with prior convictions for petty theft and six El Dorado County misdemeanor warrants for possessing and passing stolen or forged credit cards after an arrest at Tuolumne General Hospital.

According to a police report, Poe was in the hospital emergency room lobby causing a disturbance and an employee called an officer to talk to the man. When the warrants were discovered, Poe was arrested.

He remained held this morning in lieu of $12,500 bail.

5:32 p.m., Columbia — Marvin Dale Coleman, 45, 22400 block of South Airport Road, Columbia, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor battery after an arrest at his home. He was released Saturday after posting $10,000 bail.

9:31 p.m., Sonora — Louise Ann Martinez, 22, 16800 block of Quartz Street, Jamestown, booked on a warrant charging her with possessing a controlled substance and failure to appear in court after an arrest on the 200 block of Greenley Road. She remained held this morning without bail.

SUNDAY

12:10 a.m., Sonora — Donald Marion Armbright, 43, 16100 block of Big Hill Road, Sonora area, was booked on suspicion of possessing and transporting a controlled substance for use and sale and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle after a traffic stop and arrest on Mono Way at Fir Drive. He remained held this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.

1:05 a.m., Tuolumne — Phillip Jason Pinedo, 36, 2700 block of River Valley Circle, Modesto, booked on suspicion of petty theft with prior convictions for petty theft after an arrest at Black Oak Casino.

According to a sheriff's report, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, a woman was playing a slot machine that had paid out a $274 ticket to be redeemed at the casino cashier cage. The woman turned to talk to another player and when she turned back she saw a man steal her ticket.

The man was later identified as Pinedo and he was detained by a casino security officer. Pinedo remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

6 p.m., Jamestown — Ernest William Richard III, 43, no address given, Sonora, booked on a felony parole hold and misdemeanor public drunkenness after an arrest on Main Street, Jamestown. He remained held this morning without bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Nila Cheri Shanley, 53, 23400 block of Italian Bar Road, Columbia, was booked at 9:17 p.m. Friday after arrest on Pacific Street at Cemetery Lane, Columbia.

Carrie Michelle Spowehn, 24, 22400 block of Ponderosa Drive, Twain Harte, was booked at 2:15 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Fuller Road at Joaquin Gully, Twain Harte.

John William Belcher Jr., 56, 10900 block of NE 23rd Terrace, Branford, Fla., was booked at 1:10 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 108 at Sunshine Road, Mono Vista area.

Elizabeth Marie Hansen, 25, 1700 block of Q Street, Sacramento, was booked at 3:05 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 108 at Mill Villa Road, Jamestown area.

Sonora police reports

SUNDAY

10:40 a.m., public peace — A caller on the 100 block of South Washington Street said a woman was creating a disturbance in the lobby of a motel.

3:52 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man on the 100 block of Elm Street said he was bleeding from an altercation he was involved in downtown earlier in the day.

10:06 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a possible drunken driver was parked on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

Fires

SATURDAY

10:30 p.m., Sonora area — A small spot fire was reported on Campo Seco Road near Campbells Flat Road. Cause is under investigation. Tuolumne County owns the property. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

YESTERDAY

1:45 a.m., Sonora — Smoke was reported at Blockbuster Video in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center. Sonora City Fire Department responded.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

12:20 p.m., Valley Springs — John Robert Biles, 44, 8700 block of Greer Way, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of not registering as a felony sex offender. Biles posted $35,000 bail and was released from custody at the county jail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Tyrial Joseph Demarrio, 18, 8600 block of Hautly Lane, Valley Springs, was booked at 3:15 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 26 in Valley Springs.

Timm Alfred Wulff, 34, 800 block of El Rancho Drive, Livermore, was booked at 1:40 a.m. Sunday on Highway 4 east of Copperopolis.

Edward Paul Grace, 22, 3300 block of Hartvickson Road, Valley Springs, was booked at 3:33 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 12 in Valley Springs.

Jolene Marie Metz, 19, 8600 block of Stinson View Road, Valley Springs, was booked at 11 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 26 in Valley Springs.

Fires

SATURDAY

1:45 p.m., Burson — A 10-acre grass fire was reported on Highway 12 at Burson Road. Cause is under investigation. Damage was estimated at $2,000. Landowners are unidentified. CDF, two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp, Foothill Fire Protection District, Jenny Lind Fire Protection District, Burson Fire Protection District, two engines from Clements Fire Protection District and one helicopter, two air tankers and one spotter plane from Columbia Air Base responded.

2:30 p.m., West Point — A small spot fire was reported on the 20500 block of Highway 26. No damage was reported. Someone using a grinder sparked the flames. Van Wilhite of the same address owns the land. CDF responded.

8 p.m., Copperopolis — A vehicle fire was reported on Highway 4 at Reeds Turnpike. Damage was estimated at $2,200 to the engine and contents. Joe Rabeneau of Copperopolis owns the vehicle. Copperopolis Fire Protection District and CDF responded.
