Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

9:34 a.m., East Sonora — A caller said a man and a woman were arguing in front of a business on the 13400 block of Mono Way.

10:06 a.m., Don Pedro Reservoir — A Don Pedro Reservoir ranger said he has taken several reports of stolen wakeboards over the weekend.

1 p.m., Sonora area — A Ventura County Sheriff's detective said a 49-year-old man who disappeared in June may be in Tuolumne County.

2:21 p.m., Chinese Camp — A caller said he sold a car to a person in Canada, who then sent a check for double the price of the car. The caller thought it was a scam.

2:27 p.m., Gibbs Ranch — A man on the 20100 block of Leland Drive said an MP3 player was stolen from a vehicle.

4:02 p.m., Big Hill area — A woman on the 15000 block of Big Hill Road said a cabin had been broken into.

5:36 p.m., Standard area — A man on the 18300 block of Wards Ferry Road said a neighbor keeps watering where the caller parks his car.

6:03 p.m., Groveland — A man said two rooms at the Evergreen Lodge on the 33000 block of Evergreen Road were broken into.

7:31 p.m., Columbia — A caller said a man with a long dark pony tail was assaulting a woman at the end of State Street. A deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the man or woman.

7:56 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said two men in their 20s were fighting on Seco Street, then said they were going to Jamestown School to continue their fight.

9:05 p.m., Phoenix Lake Estates area — A woman said several people are living in an old school bus on Conklin Trail.

9:22 p.m., Crystal Falls — A man reported an ongoing problem with people setting off fireworks at night in Crystal Falls Park.

10:18 p.m., Jamestown area — A man said someone has moved into one of three vacant houses on the 17400 block of Highway 108 without permission.

10:30 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said his mother was beating up another man and trying to burn down a house on the 22700 block of Blackhawk Drive. A second caller said a man was beating up a woman.

Felony bookings

YESTERDAY

2:20 a.m., Standard area — Dale Allen Wade, 28, 1500 block of North Hull Avenue, Atwater, and Donna Sue Sandford, 44, 1700 block of Elayne Drive, Merced, both booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after an arrest on Standard Road at Highway 108 by a California Highway Patrol officer after a traffic stop.

Wade also was booked on misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Sandford was additionally booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. They each remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

12:07 a.m., traffic violation — A 33-year-old man was cited and released for driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop on South Stewart Street at Gold Street.

7:25 a.m., trespassing — A caller said an 8-year-old boy was trespassing on property on the 500 block of South Sonora Avenue, but was scared off by a barking dog.

7:27 a.m., miscellaneous — A caller reported a large amount of smelly garbage at a house on the 500 block of South Sonora Avenue.

8:25 a.m., miscellaneous — A city employee saw a man with an open alcohol container leaving a store on Stockton Road headed toward a park in downtown Sonora.

9:32 a.m., animal complaints — A caller said a dead stray cat was in her yard on the 600 block of Shaws Flat Road.

11:29 a.m., traffic violation — A caller asked for more patrol for speeders and crosswalk violators on Greenley Road near Sonora Regional Medical Center.

1:46 p.m., animal complaints — A caller said there was a sick horse in a field on Sanguinetti Road. An animal control officer checked the area and did not find the horse.

4:45 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on South Stewart Street.

4:56 p.m., theft — A caller said about 80 CDs were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of East Lyons Street about three weeks ago.

5:21 p.m., animal complaints — A man on the 200 block of East Live Oak Drive said there were two loose dogs on his property.

6:50 p.m., assault — A caller said a man assaulted him while the two were at Coffill Park.

10:06 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Three men, ages 29, 47, and 48, were booked on suspicion of public drunkenness after an arrest in Coffill Park on South Green Street.

TUESDAY

5:33 a.m., Valley Springs — People were diving into dumpsters at the Valley Springs Post Office.

8:05 a.m., Arnold — A caller on Highway 4 said his employee stole tools.

9:55 a.m., San Andreas — A man kicked a vehicle and threw an item at his girlfriend on the 400 block of Toyanza Avenue.

1:01 p.m., San Andreas — A threatening message was left on an answering machine on the 3100 block of Golden Gate Court.

4:37 p.m., Glencoe — A suspicious man was on the 17100 block of Highway 26 looking for water for his radiator.

5:33 p.m., Mountain Ranch — An ongoing neighbor dispute was reported on the 18300 block of Sequoia Road.

5:44 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2900 block of Cedar Court said his son punched holes in the wall and broke glass in front of their house.

6:28 p.m., Arnold — A man was assaulted at a bar on the 800 block of Highway 4.

6:51 p.m., Camp Connell — A caller on the 2100 block of Karock Road said what sounded like rifle shots were fired 22 times. The caller said people were revving a motorcycle to cover the noise of the fired shots.

6:56 p.m., Valley Springs — Several juveniles were involved in a fight at Valley Springs Elementary School. One student was injured.

9:04 p.m., West Point — Two wooden bear carvings were stolen from the 21900 block of Highway 26.

11:23 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2300 block of Danaher Drive said he thought he heard someone screaming.

YESTERDAY

1:59 a.m., Vallecito — A brown cow was on Parrotts Ferry Road, three miles south of Moaning Cavern. Deputies assisted the California Highway Patrol in herding the cow back to her field.

5:08 a.m., San Andreas — A stereo and CDs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 400 block of Russells Road.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

12:15 p.m., San Andreas — Alan David Seider, 49, unknown address on Hub Court, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime and driving with a suspended license. Seider was transported from a state prison in Tracy on the Calaveras County warrant charges. He remained in the county jail this morning in lieu of $43,000 bail.

WEDNESDAY

9:30 a.m., Valley Springs — Joseph Lee Fisher, 26, 200 block of Daphne Street, Valley Springs, booked on a felony battery charge. Fisher remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

4:40 p.m., San Andreas — Joseph Arthur Gomes, 25, 400 block of La Contenta Way, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of grand theft. Gomes was transported from the Amador County Jail on the Calaveras County warrant charge. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $15,000 bail.

6 p.m., Angels Camp — Margarida Maria Conde, 34, 1600 block of Gardner Boulevard, San Leandro, booked on suspicion of transporting drugs for sale, being under the influence of drugs and possessing marijuana. As of this morning, Conde was in custody at the county jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

6:30 p.m., Angels Camp — Michael Alexander Lorette, 41, of San Lorenzo, booked on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale and drug paraphernalia, transporting drugs, being under the influence of drugs in addition to possessing marijuana and burglary tools. As of this morning, Lorette remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $125,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Eric Eugene Rummerfield, 43, 700 block of Bald Mountain Road, West Point, booked at 8:50 a.m. after arrest on the 700 block of Bald Mountain Road in West Point.

Jason Todd Brown, 36, first block of French Bar Road, Jackson, booked at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Paloma Road in the Valley Springs area.

Wayne Richard Winfield, 49, 600 block of Sunrise Road, Copperopolis, booked at 11:28 p.m. after arrest at the intersection of O'Byrnes Ferry Road and Copper Cove Drive in Copperopolis.
