The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

 1:15 p.m., Sonora area — Jewelry was stolen from a residence on the 16000 block of Meadow Lark Drive.
 3:29 p.m., Twain Harte — Multiple items were stolen from a vacation cabin on the 23000 block of Highlander Court.
    4:36 p.m., East Sonora — A man was caught shoplifting from a store on the 13000 block of Mono Way.
    8:02 p.m., La Grange — Suspected thieves cut the locks from 14 storage units at a business on the 5000 block of La Grange Road and emptied some of the units.

    Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

 12:48 a.m., Sonora area — Clayton Ronald Barnes, 29, of the 20000 block of Leland Drive, was arrested on Leland Drive near Harrison Drive.

    Fire calls

    Keystone — A vegetation fire broke out off La Grange Road near Diestel Family Turkey Ranch. One Cal Fire engine responded to the fire that burned through about 50 acres before it was extinguished. Cal Fire Battalion Chief Katrina Blumer said the cause is being investigated, but Cal Fire suspects it was accidental as a result of target shooting in the area. No structures were damaged, according to Blumer.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

    7:40 a.m., burglary — A locked truck on South Stewart Street was broken into overnight and debit and EBT cards were stolen.
    8:28 a.m., theft — Items were stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle on North Stewart Street.
    6:52 p.m., theft — Three men were seen trying to break into parked cars in front of Perko’s Cafe on Mono Way by prying open doors of the vehicles.
    9:57 p.m., public intoxication — A intoxicated man told another guest at a restaurant he was going to be waiting outside for them with a gun. The man was arrested on a public intoxication charge.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

    7:40 p.m., Copperopolis — A man was arrested on O’Byrnes Ferry Road on suspicion of public intoxication after he was reported screaming that he was “looking for the love of his life.”
    10:49 p.m., San Andreas — A woman was arrested on Pope Street on suspicion of public intoxication after she was seen walking around yelling and screaming.
