The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


1:05 a.m., assault — A man allegedly punched someone in the face for being told he couldn’t enter a bar with a bottle of alcohol on the first block of South Washington Street.

8:45 a.m., disorderly conduct — A report was taken after a disturbance on the 200 block of Greenley Road.

9:30 a.m., theft — Someone stole a trash bag from a business on Hospital Road. 

10:20 a.m., vandalism — People were defecating and damaging the exterior of a building on the 700 block of West Stockton Street.

10:55 a.m., drugs — A bag of white powder was found at a business on the 700 block of Morning Star Drive.

12:57 p.m., trespass — Officers helped remove someone from a property on West Jackson Street. 

1:24 p.m., traffic accident — South Stewart Street was closed briefly at Gold Street after a non-injury accident. 

1:54 p.m., theft — Someone said shoes were stolen from a business on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road. Officers concluded no theft occurred. 

2:36 p.m., traffic accident — Someone accidentally ran a vehicle into a business on the 800 block of Delnero Drive.

5:05 p.m., suspicious person — A suspicious-looking man wearing a black trench coat possibly with a bullet-proof vest and gun holster was seen on the 300 block of South Washington Street. Officers determined he was not wearing a bulletproof vest and had no weapons. 

6:39 p.m., theft — A woman stole slippers on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:08 a.m., Sonora area — Identity theft was reported on the 15400 block of El Mapache Lane.

9:21 a.m., Groveland — Someone attempted and may have succeeded in getting into a mailbox at a business on the 18500 block of Main Street. 

10:15 a.m., Tuolumne — A caller said a person has been parking at Porto Fino Road and Tuolumne Road North and staying in the car for an hour. 

10:46 a.m., Don Pedro area — A neighbor has been stealing water and may be getting into someone’s home on the 2200 block of Navarro Street. 

11:36 a.m., Tuolumne — A wallet was reported stolen on the 20700 block of Gerber Road.

12:30 p.m., East Sonora — A woman on the 20100 block of Highway 108 said a man she was letting stay at her house has threatened to kill her now that she has asked him to leave. 

3:53 p.m., Columbia — An assault was reported on the 11600 block of Columbia College Drive.

4:02 p.m., Moccasin — Theft of an American flag was reported on the 10500 block of Moccasin Switchback.

4:26 p.m., Jamestown — Fraud was reported on the 17600 block of Twin Oaks Drive.

5:38 p.m., Sonora — An assault was reported on the 1000 block of Greenley Road.

6:20 p.m., Columbia — A woman said she looked at a man from her living room while he was on his front yard and he turned to her and grabbed himself inappropriately and made obscene gestures on the 23700 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.


5:32 a.m., Jamestown — Someone reportedly broke into a shop on the 9800 block of Victoria Place and it was unknown what may have been taken.

6:34 a.m., Sonora — A man said he got intoxicated with his ex-girlfriend and when he woke up, his ATM, VA and ID cards were taken at Elsey Court and Mono Way.

7:55 a.m., Sonora area — A shop was burglarized on the 13600 block of Tuolumne Road.

Felony bookings:


2 p.m., Jamestown — Vincent Sumner Ramirez, 37, of the 18300 block of Ninth Avenue, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant after an arrest at his home. 


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:59 a.m., Murphys — A woman was arrested on local warrant for drug charges, intent to sell a switchblade, giving false identification to a peace officer and violations of probation at Highway 4 and Williams Street. 

10:10 a.m., San Andreas — A report was taken for assault on Mountain Ranch Road.

11:17 a.m., Mountain Ranch — An arrest was made for Health and Safety Code violations after an altercation on Whiskey Slide Road.

3:05 p.m., Arnold — Theft was reported from a business on Cypress Point Drive.

3:34 p.m., San Andreas — An argument took place over a dog reportedly defecating on a neighbor’s front porch on California Street. 

4:22 p.m., Burson — Air conditioners and wiring were reported stolen from a business on the 2700 block of Highway 12. 


5:54 a.m., Mountain Ranch — Vandalism to house and trees was reported on Michel Road.
