Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

7:19 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 17900 block of Chickadee Court said a large rock was thrown through a rear window on her car and someone stole her purse.

8:54 a.m., Columbia — A caller said a chain saw worth $1,000 was stolen from a storage shed at an undisclosed address on Parrotts Ferry Road.

9:04 a.m., Standard area — A woman said an outside light at Sierra Bible Church was broken out and several circuit breakers were shut off.

10:34 a.m., Groveland — A caller said a man was at Designing Woman on the 18500 block of Highway 120 causing a disturbance over a fish the man's wife had given the caller.

11:14 a.m., Wards Ferry area — A woman on the 18200 block of Kelly Ranch Road said the driver of a brown GMC pickup was in the area acting suspiciously.

11:36 a.m., Racetrack Road area — A woman on the 20100 block of Jamestown Road said another woman dented the driver's side door of her car and stole a cell phone.

1:01 p.m., Tuolumne County — An Arizona woman said she was looking for her sister, who has been missing for five years. The last contact with the sister was from Tuolumne County.

1:02 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A woman on the 24200 block of Oxbow Lane said her diamond ring set valued at $3,000 was stolen from her house in early August.

4:03 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 22000 block of Loop Street said a bank debit card was stolen from her mailbox.

5:14 p.m., Rancho Sonora Estates — A woman said several small children were playing "chicken" with passing cars on Jamestown Road near Johnny Avenue.

5:57 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said a 55-gallon drum with unknown contents had been left by the side of South Fork Road near Joaquin Gulley Road.

6:10 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said two boys were fighting at the Jamestown Youth Center on Seventh Avenue, and one boy's face was injured.

6:41 p.m., Crystal Falls — A caller said about 15 teens were near a car parked at Crystal Falls Lake and the caller thought the teens might be doing drugs.

8:43 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 22800 block of Fuller Road said a light-colored car pulled up to her house and shot a paintball at it.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

1:50 p.m., Sonora — Michael Chris Long, 39, 500 block of North Highway 49, Sonora, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs after an arrest on Hospital Road, Sonora.

According to a Sonora police report, Long and his estranged wife were arguing in a Sonora High School parking lot. A Sonora Fire Department crew saw Long get into his pickup and ram the woman's black car, the report said. The woman drove away and Long again rammed her car while the two were driving on Green Street.

The woman then drove to the Sonora Police station and a police officer caught up with Long on Hospital Road, east of Tuolumne General Hospital and arrested him.

He remained held this morning in lieu of $30,000 bail.

YESTERDAY

2:38 a.m., Sonora — Rodrigo Salas-Hernandez, 23, and Carlos Vella-Baez, 21, both of undisclosed addresses in Oakland, booked on suspicion of being illegal immigrants after a traffic stop and arrest on Greenley Road at Sanguinetti Road, Sonora. They remained held without bail this morning.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Todd Ewell Wilson, 42, 4200 block of Landing Drive, Modesto, booked at 12:09 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 108 at Rawhide Road, Jamestown.

Fires

TUESDAY

8:15 a.m., Jacksonville area — An illegal debris burn was reported on the 13700 block of Park Avenue. Stacy Trillo of the same address owns the land. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

11:40 a.m., Big Oak Flat area — A small spot fire was reported on the 1100 block of Priest Coulterville Road. The fire was caused by a campfire that was not properly extinguished. No dollar damage was reported. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department, all aircraft from Columbia Air Base, Bureau of Land Management, one crew from Baseline Conservation Camp, one crew from Vallecito Conservation Camp and one dozer from Baseline responded.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

3 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman on the 400 block of Greenley Road said a man with dark hair and an orange jacket was looking into her dining room window.

7:41 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A 1992 red Mazda was towed from South Stewart Street because it was parked in the middle of the street.

12:46 p.m., theft — A purse was stolen from a car parked on South Stewart Street.

1:50 p.m., controlled substances — A Sonora High School resource officer took drugs away from a Cassina High School student.

3:31 p.m., controlled substances — A caller said that while walking past Heaven for Kids Park on Greenley Road, he could smell marijuana. An officer checked the park and didn't find anything suspicious.

4:06 p.m., warrant arrest — A 47-year-old man was arrested on a warrant charging him with misdemeanor battery after he was stopped by an officer while driving on Highway 49 near North Washington Street.

5:45 p.m., theft — A Tuolumne woman said her purse was stolen from a shopping cart while she was at Wal-Mart.

6:19 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man said he purchased a vehicle he saw parked at Wal-Mart, but when he went to get the car, it was gone. An officer told him the car had been towed because Wal-Mart does not allow vehicles for sale to be left in the store lot.

Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

10:47 a.m., Mountain Ranch — The door to a house was kicked in on the 6000 block of Cedar Springs.

4:08 p.m., Copperopolis — A vehicle on the 100 block of Blue Oak Court was vandalized.

7:01 p.m., Valley Springs — A man said a woman scratched and bit him during a fight over cookies and milk.

YESTERDAY

1:39 a.m., Wallace — Darrell Lee Jenkins Jr., 23, 600 block of Germaine Avenue, Galt, booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit a crime after arrest near Ospital Road. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $105,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Deeana Elaine House, 36, 400 block of Foothill Court, San Andreas, booked at 11:40 p.m. Monday after arrest at unspecified address.

Teresa Gay Luddon, 42, 3000 block of Signal Hill Trail, Copperopolis, booked at 12:44 a.m. yesterday after arrest at unspecified address.

Fire

TUESDAY

3:30 p.m., Arnold area — A small spot fire was reported on the 1700 block of Meadowview Road. Cause is undetermined. Eileen Segale of the same address owns the property. CDF, Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District, Bear Valley Fire Protection District and all aircraft from Columbia Air Base responded.
