The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


1:37 p.m., fraudulent activity — Someone reported fraudulent activity on Calaveras Way. 

5:11 p.m., traffic accident — A motorcyclist sought treatment for a solo accident on Highway 49. 

5:28 p.m., vandalism — A man reported sugar was put in his gas tank sometime last night on Summit Avenue.

5:50 p.m., fraudulent activities — Someone reported a possible fraudulent attempt to obtain a vehicle at a business on the 200 block of South Washington Street. 

11:43 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman requested police because someone knocked on her door on South Barretta Street. 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


10:09 a.m., Long Barn — A woman was reported acting strangely and refusing to leave the area behind the fire station on Long Barn Road.

10:38 a.m., Tuolumne — Fraudulent charges amounting to $232 were reported on the 18400 block of Chestnut Avenue.

11:37 a.m., Columbia — Assault was reported on the 11100 block of Jackson Street. 

11:56 a.m., Sonora area — Identity theft was reported on the 19800 block of Villa Drive.

12:49 p.m., Sonora area — A landlord was threatened by a tenant on the 16600 block of Ridgewood Drive.

1:02 p.m., Sonora area — Someone reported possible abuse, but officers determined the victim fell out of a tree on the 9500 block of Highway 49.

1:21 p.m., Twain Harte — A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and violating probation behind a business o the 22900 block of Joaquin Gully Road.

1:35 p.m., Sonora area — Two people reported seeing two men walking up Laru Lane and taking pictures of all the houses. One wearing a shirt that read “Guns, guns, guns.”

5:45 p.m., Columbia — A woman said she heard people say they were going to break into a shed and steal some things. She called back at 7:13 p.m. and said people pulled up in a truck at her home on the 27300 block of Italian Bar Road , there was a loud crash and she heard someone mention burning the place down. She said she is woken up every night by people throwing things at her windows. 

5:56 p.m., Pinecrest — Someone reported a man and woman walking on Pinecrest Lake Road and looking into several cabin windows. 

6:09 p.m., Tuolumne — A man reported assault at Overlook Drive and Black Oak Road.

9:41 p.m., Jamestown — Someone was reportedly banging on something and others got angry and yelled at the person and the person yelled back on the 17700 block of Woods Way.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:14 a.m., Vallecito — Trespassing was reported on Parrotts Ferry Road.

9:26 a.m., San Andreas — Grand theft was reported on East St. Charles Street.

10:59 a.m., Angels Camp — A residential burglary was reported on Riata Way. 

11:12 a.m., San Andreas — Someone was arrested on an out-of-county warrant at the Sheriff’s Office on Mountain Ranch Road.

1:55 p.m., San Andreas — A naked man was reported on Mountain Ranch Road. He was not found by deputies. 

2:06 p.m., Copperopolis — Items were reportedly taken from a vehicle on Steeplechase Drive.

4:59 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone went in to collect a prescription and reportedly found that someone had already picked it up at a business on the 200 block of Valley 12. 

7:11 p.m., Angels Camp — A man reportedly jumped a fence at the a shop on Monte Verda Street.


4:50 a.m., San Andreas — A man was arrested after a caller said that he was extremely drunk walking the roadway toward the Sheriff’s Office on Mountain Ranch Road.

Felony bookings


10 a.m., Valley Springs — Benjamin Samuel Harmon, 23, of the 7000 block of Cane Lane, was booked on suspicion of evading police with wanton disregard for safety and misdemeanor reckless driving after an arrest at his home.

Noon, San Andreas — Gregory Dean High, 23, of the 900 block of Feather Drive, Copperopolis, was booked on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury after an arrest at the Calaveras County Probation Department on East St. Charles Street. 

3:45 p.m., Valley Springs area — Brianna Nicole Smith, 27, of the 2000 block of Bald Mountain Road, West Point, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and two misdemeanor warrants after an arrest on Highway 26 at Smead Road.

6 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Ryan Nicholas Wallace, 29, of the 4500 block of Moran Road, Avery, was booked on suspicion of first degree burglary, battery of an officer and obstructing an executive officer after an arrest on Center Street.
