Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

8:59 a.m., Willow Springs — A woman on the 20500 block of Adams Court said garbage was thrown into her front yard.

10:07 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said $210 cash was stolen from Mother Lode Coffee Shop on the 18000 block of Main Street overnight.

10:24 a.m., East Sonora — A man said his wife's wallet was stolen when their locked car parked at a motel on the 14200 block of Highway 108 was broken into.

10:36 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said while she was walking on Main Street, a man came up behind her and kicked her leg and spit on her.

10:46 a.m., Quail Hollow — A man said he saw a woman remove a screen from an apartment window on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle. The woman went into the apartment and brought something out in a hamper before driving away in a white car.

11:26 a.m., Tulloch Reservoir area — The manager of South Shore Tulloch campgrounds said a man and a woman were fighting. A deputy spoke with the woman, who said her boyfriend of two months broke an antenna on her car and she rammed his truck. The man left before a deputy could talk to him.

5:20 p.m., Racetrack Road area — A woman on the 19800 block of Panorama Place said a man with a long pony tail asked to use her phone because he was stuck. She sent him away, but called the sheriff's department because it seemed suspicious.

6:04 p.m., Columbia — A man said another man and a woman stole $30 from him while he was sleeping in a motel room on the 22600 block of Broadway Street.

9:32 p.m., Willow Springs — A man on the 20600 block of Tanner Drive said a guitar and snowboards were stolen.

9:40 p.m., Jamestown — A man on the 18100 block of Main Street said his house was burglarized and a computer and other items were stolen.

11:09 p.m., Columbia — A woman was booked on suspicion of being drunk in public at the Columbia College dorms on the 11700 block of Columbia College Drive. She was released after sobering up.

YESTERDAY

4:30 a.m., Long Barn — A caller found a small dead bear in the middle of Highway 108 between the east and west entrances to Long Barn. A larger bear was also seen sitting on the side of the road, but the larger bear was gone when a Highway Patrol officer arrived.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

9:03 p.m., Groveland — Steven Wayne Fagundes, 50, 1700 block of Lambaren Street, Livermore, and Rebecca Elaine Huger-Ornbaum, 38, 11900 block of Valbergan, Livermore, both booked on suspicion of felony battery and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm after an arrest on Merrell Road.

A man called 911 when he saw a man and a woman fighting in the middle of the road. A California Highway Patrol officer and a sheriff's deputy responded and arrested Fagundes and Huger-Ornbaum. They remained held this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail each.

10:49 p.m., Shaws Flat area — Gilles Jean Bourgeois, 18, unknown address in Los Angeles, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats after an arrest on the 10200 block of Von Kleiben Road.

A sheriff's report said Bourgeois and two other men were arguing and started shoving each other. One man said Bourgeois hit him in the side of his head and another said Bourgeois tried to stab him with a knife. Both said Bourgeois threatened to kill them.

Bourgeois remained held this morning in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Phillip Michael Kapp, 44, 21100 block of Jack Page Road, Sonora, booked at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday after arrest at the Division of Motor Vehicles on Morning Star Drive. He was also arrested on a felony warrant charging him with marijuana cultivation. He remained held this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Donald Frank Rosen, 65, 23600 block of Ontario Drive, Twain Harte, booked at 12:40 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 108 west of Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

7:13 a.m. hazardous situation — A caller said a truck was blocking traffic on Morning Star Drive and no flaggers were around.

8:46 a.m., traffic violation — A 26-year-old man was cited and released after an arrest on North Stewart Street by an officer who said the man was driving with a suspended license.

Noon — A man said a woman blocked his car in a parking space at Sonora Plaza shopping center because she said he ran into her car. The man told the officer the woman rolled into his car. There was no damage to either vehicle, the officer said.

1:38 p.m., traffic violations — A 30-year-old man was cited and released on North Stewart Street by an officer who said the man was driving with a suspended drivers license.

1:50 p.m., hazardous situation — A big-rig truck was blocking traffic on South Shepherd Street at East Lyons Street.

2:38 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on Gold Street at South Washington Street.

5:40 p.m., assault — A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after her roommate said she assaulted him at their house on the 600 block of South Stewart Street.

8:40 p.m., public intoxication — A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness on 80 block of McCormick Drive.

9:33 p.m., theft — A Ross Dress for Less manager said he has a store surveillance video tape showing a man and two women shoplifting from the store on the 1100 block of Mono Way.

TUESDAY

12:54 p.m., Valley Springs — A man was seen knocking over a stop sign on Huckleberry Lane.

1:21 p.m., Copperopolis — A house that is for sale was broken into on the 1000 block of Shoreline Drive.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

11:18 a.m., San Andreas — Richard Darrel Cadle Jr., 37, 400 block of Main Street, West Point, booked on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender with a previous felony conviction after arrest at the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department. Cadle posted $15,000 bail and will be arraigned next month.

11:35 p.m., Carson Hill — Charles Otto Kaul, 47, 200 block of Clifton Street, Angels Camp, booked on suspicion of possessing, transporting and selling a controlled substance after arrest at Carson Hill. Kaul remains in custody at Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $60,000. His arraignment is scheduled for today.
