Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7:43 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 17500 block of Twin Oak Drive said his garage door was written on with a pen and egged.

8:50 a.m., Jamestown Road area — A man on the 10500 block of Sunshine Hill Road said his vehicle was vandalized.

8:56 a.m., Sonora area — A woman at Mother Lode Job Training said covers were taken off water boxes.

9:18 a.m., Cuesta Serena — A woman on the 18300 block of Avenida Bonita said she learned flyers were being passed around Sonora High School announcing a large party at her house while she was scheduled to be out of town.

9:25 a.m., Tuolumne — A man at Bell Plastics of the Sierras on the 18600 block of Pine Street said teens have been jumping onto his roof from another building and have damaged roof tiles.

9:45 a.m., Mono Village — A man at Leasemobile on the 14500 block of Mono Way said a starter was unbolted from the engine of a 1992 Dodge van, parts were stolen off other cars and gasoline was siphoned out of others.

9:54 a.m., East Sonora — A woman said she left her purse on a bench outside a store at The Junction shopping center and it was stolen.

12:31 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 22400 block of Airport Road said the right passenger window on her vehicle was broken.

1:43 p.m., Tuttletown — A man said a house on the 7600 block of Reynolds Ferry Road was burglarized.

2:32 p.m., Crystal Falls — A caller said a neighbor was dumping trash from a red pickup truck on Wasatch Mountain Drive near Crystal Lake Drive.

3:12 p.m., Mormon Creek area — A woman on the 9600 block of Mormon Creek Road said her mailbox was stolen and her house littered with toilet paper.

3:13 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said two wallets were stolen from an unlocked truck parked on the 23000 block of Joaquin Gully Road.

4:08 p.m., Sonora area — A man said he was followed by an angry driver, who was possibly drunk, on Highway 108. The man said the driver yelled at him when the man stopped in front of the sheriff's department.

5 p.m., Groveland — A woman on the 19200 block of Pine Mountain Drive said candy and food were stolen from the swimming pool area at Pine Mountain Lake.

6:39 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a neighbor on the 23700 block of Leisure Drive was yelling at people across the street.

7:30 p.m., Tuttletown — A 47-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants at a house on the 8900 block of Highway 49 after a woman called to say the wanted man was there.

8:47 p.m., Crystal Falls area — A caller said a man without a shirt was on the Crystal Falls Drive shoulder near Longeway Road yelling at a woman.

10:42 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 22000 block of South Fork Road said a chain saw valued between $550 and $600 and a $150 power saw were stolen from his carport.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

10:16 a.m., Sonora — Rhonda Leona Waechter, 50, 23200 block of Italian Bar Road, Columbia, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and a misdemeanor warrant charging her with petty theft and failure to appear in court after an arrest on 1100 block of Highway 49. No details were available. She remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

MONDAY

9:05 a.m., hazardous situation — A caller said a construction vehicle parked at the Department of Motor Vehicles on Morning Star Drive was causing a safety problem.

10:44 a.m., hazardous situation — A caller said a disabled vehicle was on Mono Way near Truckenmiller Road.

11:08 a.m., trespass — A Subway sandwich shop employee said a man refused to leave the restaurant on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

11:17 a.m., controlled substance — A student was cited and released after being found with drug paraphernalia at Sonora Elementary School.

1:34 p.m., vandalism — A caller said a vehicle parked at Sonora Crossroad shopping center was damaged.

2:27 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured when one vehicle rolled into another one on South Norlin Street.

2:48 p.m., theft — An employee at Gipsy Rose and Friends on the 90 block of South Washington Street said a person stole items from the store.

7:22 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Locks were cut at the Sonora Elementary School bus yard on Greenley Road.

Fires

MONDAY

1:09 p.m., Groveland — Murray Smith of the 13000 block of Boitano Road was cited for burning on a no-burn day. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Groveland Community Services District Fire Department responded.

7:25 p.m., West County — A half-acre roadside fire was reported on the 11100 block of Highway 108. No damage was reported. CDF responded.

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7:12 a.m., Valley Springs — Two men were arguing on the 200 block of West Sequoia Avenue.

10:30 a.m., Arnold — Signs were vandalized by paint balls on the first block of Longman Lane.

10:56 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller said stereos were stolen from cars parked on the 700 block of Hogan Dam Road.

1:30 p.m., Burson — Two men were arguing on the 7000 block of Warren Road.

6:04 p.m., Murphys — Items were reportedly stolen and then returned to a house on the 900 block Broadview Lane.

8:18 p.m., Burson — A caller on the 7900 block of Cabernet Street said a neighbor was staring over a six-foot fence.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

James Francis Ablett, 25, of Columbia, booked at 2:50 a.m. yesterday after arrest near the intersection of Highway 49 and Murphys Grade Road in Angels Camp.

Fires

YESTERDAY

9:41 a.m., Rail Road Flat — A half-acre woodland fire was reported on the 1900 block of Garner Lane. Burt Dundenail of the same address owns the property. No damage was reported. CDF and Central Fire Protection District responded.

12:17 p.m., San Andreas — An escaped debris burn was reported on the 3000 block of Highway 49. Damage was estimated at $850. Russell Summer of the same address owns the property. CDF and San Andreas Fire Protection District responded.

2:13 p.m., Calaveritas — A small spot fire was reported on Highway 49 near the old Calaveritas Bridge. No damage was reported. CDF and San Andreas Fire Protection District responded.
