Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

10:04 a.m., Tuolumne — The caretaker of a property on the 18700 block of Main Street said a man lived in an apartment after the primary renter had vacated, and the owner was never aware he was staying there.

10:29 a.m., Sonora Meadows — A man said garbage was thrown onto his car, which was parked on the 10300 block of Preston Lane overnight.

11:48 a.m., Springfield area — A caller said someone was taking items from a residence on the 21300 block of Shaws Flat Road and loading them into a flatbed pickup truck. The caller believed no one should be there.

1:28 p.m., Sugar Pine — A caller said a woman who rented a space for two days at the Sugar Pine RV Park has since decided to stay longer without paying, and told the caller she would have to evict her. At 5:22 p.m., the tenant called to say her campsite and all of her belongings were taken. She said the managers had been asking her to leave, but she was trying to make arrangements to pay. At 9:25 p.m.,the tenant was reported sleeping inside a laundry room at the park.

3:03 p.m., Twain Harte — A man at Twain Harte Pharmacy on the 18700 block of Tiffeni Drive said a shoplifter was detained.

4:11 p.m., Big Hill area — A woman said someone broke into her garage and barn on the 14700 block of Northridge Road.

4:29 p.m., Willow Springs — A man said numerous youths were at the Willow Springs clubhouse on Willow Springs Drive, and he saw one boy show another a switchblade.

4:37 p.m., Strawberry — A vacation cabin on Leland Creek Road was burglarized.

4:58 p.m., Willow Springs — A man at Willow Springs Market said he had an adult male shoplifter in custody.

5:47 p.m., undisclosed location — A caller reported harassing phone calls, malicious hate mail and someone tapping and knocking on her windows in the night.

8:10 p.m., Phoenix Lake — A caller said a man was outside a residence on the 21900 block of Montgomery Road causing a disturbance with the landlord.

9:36 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said a man keeps calling her cell phone saying he is going to kill her and her fiance.

9:47 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said three men looked like they were about to get into a fight on the 22900 block of Twain Harte Drive.

10:11 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said several juveniles were drinking in a parking lot on the 10200 block of Preston Lane.

FRIDAY

1:25 a.m., Jamestown — A woman at Chip's Chevron on the 18100 block of Highway 108 said two men ran into the store and stole an 18-pack of beer.

9:33 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman said people were sleeping inside a car parked on the 22300 block of Ridge Road.

10:34 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman said someone vandalized a soft drink machine on the 22600 block of Twain Harte Drive the night before.

1:30 p.m., East Sonora — A caller requested extra patrol for an event at a business on the 19000 block of Standard Road.

2:06 p.m., Jamestown — A man said people who had trespassed on his property on the 18600 block of Jamestown Road left a spray paint can behind.

2:23 p.m., East Sonora — A man said he had been threatened at his job, on the 13700 block of Mono Way, earlier in the week.

4:04 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said his vacation home, on the 20000 block of Davis Flat Road, had been vandalized.

4:27 p.m., Big Hill area — A woman said her daughter had been bitten by a dog on Five Mile Creek Road.

4:33 p.m., Soulsbyville — A woman on the 20500 block of Sunshine Road said she found three cases of unused hypodermic needles outside.

6:16 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a group of children found a gun on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

6:31 p.m., Chinese Camp — A caller said two men were fighting in the front yard of a house on the 13500 block of Red Hills Road.

7:32 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said her rental property on Algerine Wards Ferry Road was vandalized.

7:39 p.m., Columbia — A woman from the 22400 block of Airport Road said her neighbor was yelling and screaming at other neighbors.

8:24 p.m., Tuolumne area — A woman said her mail was strewn up and down the 16400 block of Yosemite Road.

8:59 p.m., Willow Springs — A woman said her neighbors on Charlotte Court were setting off fireworks.

9:43 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said a live band was playing in the yard of a home on Cherokee Road.

10:34 p.m., Sierra Village — A man said a van was parked outside of a business on the 24200 block of Highway 108 and two men were walking in and out of the place.

10:38 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said she was assaulted as she walked on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

11:40 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said his vacation cabin on the 23200 block of Joaquin Gully Road was burglarized.

SATURDAY

1:26 a.m., Sonora area — The Sonora Police Department requested assistance with a fight on Shepherd Street.

4:08 a.m., Don Pedro — A woman said a man drove onto her property on Old Don Pedro Road.

10:03 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said mail was scattered around Belle Mooney Road and Jeni Court.

11:34 a.m., Phoenix Lake area— A woman on the 21700 block of Hyde Street said she thinks her two dogs were stolen the night before.

12:39 p.m., East Sonora — A woman said she went to pick up her vehicle at a business on the 14200 block of Tuolumne Road and found that it, and others, had been broken into.

1:06 p.m., Columbia — A man said someone put four large trash bags in R&L Mini Mart's trash bin on Parrotts Ferry Road.

2:39 p.m., Dardenelles — A man said his vacation cabin on Brightman Flat Road was broken into.

3:18 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said she saw people dumping trash on the side of South Fork Road.

5:09 p.m., Jamestown area — A man said his camping trailer, stored on Tulloch Lake Road, had been broken into.

5:29 p.m., Groveland area — A man said a transient was dropped off near his house on the 20400 block of White Gulch Road.

6:32 p.m., Sugar Pine — A man said that while he and his son were fishing, six jars of bait were taken from their tackle box and smashed against the rocks on Pine Lake Drive.

6:52 p.m., East Sonora — A woman on the 14200 block of Kelly Loop said her neighbor's dog jumped a gate and killed her rabbit.

7:30 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said teenagers were racing in a church parking lot on Tuolumne Road.

9:31 p.m., Mono Vista — A man said his son's truck windows were broken while it was parked on the 17800 block of Lucky Strike Trail.

10:21 p.m., East Sonora — A caller from a business on the 19600 block of Hess Avenue said two women were causing a disturbance.

11 p.m., East Sonora — A man said a group was fighting outside a business on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

1:26 a.m., East Sonora — Brian Anthony Eubanks, 36, of Ranchos Poquitos, booked on a felony parole hold after a traffic stop and arrest on suspicion of drunken driving on Highway 108 at Tuolumne Road. He remained held this morning without bail.

9:55 a.m., Sonora — Lee Ray Hugh Ashlock, 27, no address, Sonora, arrested at Washington and Solinsky streets on suspicion of an assault the previous night at a transient camp on Stockton Road. He remained held this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

FRIDAY

12:20 a.m., Columbia — Matthew Dustin Clements, 18, 23500 block of Highway 108, Sugar Pine, arrested on Columbia Street at Fulton Street on suspicion of auto theft, receiving stolen property and evading police officers with reckless driving. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

8:15 a.m., Sonora — Jesse Graham, 44, 20828 Saratoga Road, Sonora, arrested at his home on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, making threats with a weapon and making terrorist threats.

Larry Wayne Ferguson, 43, of the same address, was treated at Tuolumne General Hospital Thursday night for cuts he said were caused when Graham smashed a whiskey bottle over his head.

He didn't want to press charges then, according to the sheriff's report, but changed his mind later, saying Graham had threatened him with a shotgun.

Graham remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

John Worden Skewes, 55, 11300 block of Jackson Street, Columbia, booked at 6 p.m. Thursday after arrest on Mono Way at Fir Street, Sonora.

2:40 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a woman was walking down the middle of Mono Way.

3:07 p.m., fraud — A caller said someone had used lost checks at a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

4:46 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury traffic accident occurred in front of a business on the 1100 block of Mono Way.

10:29 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said it sounded like a vehicle went off the road at the hairpin turn on Shaws Flat Road.

FRIDAY

12:19 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a gate and a door were open at a business on the 700 block of South Washington Street.

8:41 a.m., traffic violation — A man said after a car cut him off on Yaney Avenue, the driver of the car chased and yelled profanities at him.

9:09 a.m., fraud — A man on the 400 block of North Shepherd Street said a man forged his name on a check and cashed it.

10:35 a.m., traffic accident — A man said he was involved in a non-injury traffic accident on the 800 block of Greenley Road earlier that morning.

6:09 p.m., theft — A man said his daughter's purse was stolen on the 400 block of North Washington Street.

6:12 p.m., hazardous situation — A caller said a truck was sitting in the middle of Elk Drive.

11:49 p.m., assault — A fight occurred in a bar on the 100 block of South Washington Street. A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery.

SATURDAY

12:24 a.m., public intoxication — A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on South Washington Street.

8:27 a.m., traffic accident — A caller said a hit-and-run accident occurred on the 300 block of North Shepherd Street sometime the night before.

5:20 p.m., fight — A caller said people were arguing outside a business on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

8:41 p.m., public intoxication — A 53-year old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at South Washington and Gold streets.

9:13 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man was outside a store on the 1000 block of Sanguinetti Road with a razor blade knife and other tools.

10:07 p.m., warrant arrest — A 20-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at a party on the 500 block of Snell Street.

10:34 p.m., assault — A caller said a person was jumped by 12 men in front of a business on the 900 block of Sanguinetti Road.

Fire calls

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

FRIDAY

2:05 p.m., La Grange area —A half-acre of trees and brush valued at $300 burned on the 29800 block of Yosemite Road. Cause of the fire is under investigation. Responding were California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department, an inmate crew from Baseline Conservation Camp and a CDF helicopter.

7:45 p.m., Twain Harte area — A citation for burning non-natural materials and burning during a no-burn period was issued to Joseph Summers of the 22600 block of North Tuolumne Road after firefighters responded to a smoke check at the same address. Responding were CDF, TCFD and Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department.

YESTERDAY

5:25 p.m., Lake Don Pedro — A trash bin fire at Fleming Meadows Campground caused $100 damage. The fire was caused by campers who dumped hot embers into the bin. CDF responded.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

1:08 p.m., San Andreas — A person at the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department office reported a stolen backpack.

1:32 p.m., Valley Springs — A purse was stolen from a thrift shop on the 200 block of Highway 12.

1:43 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said she had two babies wearing seat belts locked by other kids inside her car on the 3100 block of Highway 12. The woman said she didn't have the money to call a locksmith.

1:51 p.m., San Andreas — A deputy responded to a disturbance between neighbors on Pool Station Road.

SATURDAY

8:40 a.m., Hathaway Pines — A mountain lion attack was reported on the 5100 block of Darby Russell Road. A caller said six goats were killed and one was partially eaten.

9:18 a.m., Angels Camp — A missing person was reported on the 700 block of Casey Lane.

11:45 a.m., Arnold — The soda machine at Chapel in the Pines on Highway 4 was vandalized.

7:50 p.m., Arnold — Vandalism was reported on the 1700 block of Pine Drive.

8:20 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller on the 3600 block of Quail Hill Road requested advice on a family situation.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

5:50 p.m., Glencoe — Kenneth David Baxter, 37, of Independence Road, Glencoe, booked on an assault charge. Baxter remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

10:30 p.m., Angels Camp — Christy Lynn Willcox, 40, 1000 block of Bret Harte Road, Angels Camp, booked on two battery charges. As of this morning, Willcox remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $65,000 bail.

TODAY

12:15 a.m., West Point — Ralph Rodney Brick, 55, 29000 block of Highway 108, Cold Springs, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana and an assault weapon. Brick posted $15,000 bail and will be arraigned at a later date.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Stephan Lorus Evans, 33, 4000 block of Dunn Road, Valley Springs, booked at 8 p.m. Friday after arrest on Paloma Road in Valley Springs.

James Albert Smith, 48, 4400 block of Moran Road, Avery, booked at 1:30 p.m. Saturday after arrest at the intersection of Highway 4 and Moran Road in Avery.

Mario Coroba Perez, 29, 400 block of Willis Avenue, San Jose, booked at 6:30 p.m. Saturday after arrest at the intersection of Big Trees Road and Main Street in Murphys.

Abraham Baron Hernandez, 24, 8900 block of Paloma Road, Valley Springs, booked at 1:05 a.m. today after arrest at the intersection of Campo Seco Road and Waterton Road in Campo Seco.

Fires

Calaveras County

FRIDAY

7:04 p.m., San Andreas — A smoldering burn pile re-ignited at Gold Strike and High School streets. No information was available about who owned the land or whether a citation was issued. Responding were California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and San Andreas Fire Protection District crews.

YESTERDAY

4 p.m., Copperopolis — Three acres of grass valued at $600 burned on the 3100 block of Little John Road. The fire was caused by sparks from a tractor. The land is owned by Tom Papageorge of the same address. CDF, Copperopolis Fire Protection District, an inmate crew from Vallecito Conservation Camp and a CDF helicopter responded.
