Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

7:33 a.m., Crystal Falls — A woman saw a group of teenage boys fighting with another boy on Longeway Road near Crystal Falls Drive.

8:56 a.m., Standard area — A sheriff's sergeant asked for an Animal Control officer to remove a large dog from a house on the 19000 block of Christie Mae Lane while the owners were being evicted.

9:28 a.m., Standard area — A woman housesitting on the 1500 block of Lupine Lane said three men in a white SUV were outside the house. She asked them to leave and they refused.

9:34 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A house on the 21000 block of Fools Gold Street said the back screen door was opened and a brick was thrown through a window to break into the house.

10:37 a.m., Campo Seco area — A sheriff's sergeant chased and stopped a car he suspected was had been stolen from Ellinwood Acres Road. Two men ran from the Red Honda Prelude and the car was towed away.

11:05 a.m., Standard area — A 1976 Chevy pickup truck parked at Sierra Bible Church on the 15100 block of Tuolumne Road was vandalized. A tool box was also stolen from it and gasoline siphoned.

2:26 p.m., East Sonora — A man said gasoline was stolen from cars parked at Steve's Auto Body on the 19500 block of Industrial Drive.

2:40 p.m., Mono Village — A man on the 14600 block of Mono Way said another man came up to his house and "flipped off his son."

2:42 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said wooden flower pots valued at $300 were stolen from Villa de Oro on the 23000 block of Joaquin Gully Road.

3:40 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A woman said a 15-year-old boy was out of control, threatened his mother and kicked out lattice on a deck of his house on Creekside Drive.

3:11 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man said the driver of a yellow 80s-model truck dumped caulking material on a driveway on LaVene Court. When the man asked the driver to clean it up, the driver yelled obscenities at the man and drove off.

3:14 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a man stole items from a convenience store on the 18300 block of Highway 108 and put them in his overall pockets.

4:26 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A woman on the 16700 block of Hackamore Court said her tractor snowblower was stolen. A deputy arrested a teen for the theft and the snowblower was recovered.

6:26 p.m. Sonora area — A caller said a man who had earlier assaulted a woman was at a house on the 21300 block of Shaws Flat Road.

7:40 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender when a deputy went to his house on the 24000 block of Kuien Mill Road looking for another man.

8:14 p.m., Ponderosa Hills — A woman on the 20200 block of Canyonview Drive said a bull was in the road near Stardust Way.

8:35 p.m., Mono Village — A woman on the 14500 block of Lolly Lane said her apartment was burglarized and a camera, a safe, a pistol and cash were stolen.

11:33 p.m., Columbia — A woman said three men were kicking another man on the 22400 block of Airport Road South

TUESDAY

3:06 p.m., Sonora — Justin Eugene Miller, 24, 190 block of South Barretta Street, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging him with burglary, vehicle theft and receiving stolen property after an arrest at his home by a Sonora police officer. He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

James Duane Kurth Jr., 32, 18700 block of Cedar Street, Tuolumne booked at 1:18 a.m. yesterday after an arrest on Washington Street near Tuolumne Street, Sonora.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

9:12 a.m., animal complaints — A caller said a rabbit was inside a cage without food or water at a house on the 500 block of Maple Street. The caller said it was possible the residents moved out and forgot the rabbit.

9:57 a.m., theft — A caller said about 50 CDs were stolen from a house on the 70 block of West Jackson Street.

11:30 a.m., domestic violence — A caller said several students were on stairs near Cassina High School on Barretta Street with a baby in a stroller. The caller said the baby had been crying for sometime and the cries were being ignored.

11:41 a.m., traffic violation — A 56-year-old man was cited and released on suspicion of reckless driving after a traffic stop on South Green Street.

5:06 p.m., child endangerment — A caller said a baby was left inside a locked car with the engine running at Sonora Crossroads shopping center. An officer counseled the mother and the baby was secured in a child seat.

7:37 p.m., miscellaneous — A caller said a man with short brown hair, blue jeans and carrying a water bottle was urinating onto Upper Sunset Drive.

10:56 p.m., traffic accident — A 19-year-old Jamestown man was injured slightly when his 1992 Nissan car drifted off the north side of Mono Way, struck a dirt embankment and overturned. The man received cuts to both knees, his right hand and left arm, but he refused medical treatment.

TUESDAY

8 a.m., Wallace — Wood was stolen from a Highway 12 construction site.

9:15 a.m., Arnold — A mother and her son were arguing on the 1800 block of Deer Run Way.

9:49 a.m., Vallecito — A business credit card was fraudulently used on the 3500 block of Main Street.

1:27 p.m., Valley Springs — A man and woman were arguing on the first block of Highway 12.

2:49 p.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 1600 block of Gold Hunter Road said a suspicious person was walking through private property.

5:45 a.m., San Andreas — A child's bicycle was stolen on the 200 block of North Main Street.

6:11 p.m., Burson — A man on the 8000 block of Olive Branch Lane said his drunken wife wouldn't leave him alone. A deputy mediated the situation.

7:36 p.m., Burson — A man and woman were reportedly arguing on the 11000 block of Arapaho Way. A deputy arrived and was told the pair had left together and that their disagreement was apparently solved.

11:22 p.m., Arnold — A loud party was reported on the 2600 block of Country Club Drive.

TODAY

5:44 a.m., Rail Road Flat — William Michael Williams, 35, 1400 block of Wells Fargo Road, Rail Road Flat, booked on suspicion of indecent exposure. He remained in the Calaveras County Jail this morning, held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Fires

WEDNESDAY

8:30 a.m., Murphys area — A discarded cigarette caused a fire that did $1,000 damage to the deck of a house on the 1400 block of Hanging Tree Road. The property owner is Mary Matzek of Murphys, and the tenant is Jody Walter. Responding were California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District and Angels Camp Fire Department.

5:30 p.m., Murphys area — A three-acre fire did $600 damage to grass on Highway 4 at Six Mile Village. The fire started at roadside. The cause is unknown and the property owner has not been determined. Responding were CDF, Murphys Fire Protection District, Altaville-Melones Fire Protection District, Angels Camp Fire Department, an inmate crew from Vallecito Conservation Camp and a helicopter from Columbia Air Attack Base.
