THURSDAY

7:56 a.m., Jamestown — A man came into the Sheriff's Department to report the loss of a book of checks from his Jacksonville Road home.

8:17 a.m., Crystal Falls — A caller said five to six teenagers were smoking cigarettes behind Crystal Falls Mini Mart on the 20900 block of Longeway Road.

8:54 a.m., Don Pedro area — A caller said a man just fired from a business on the 5000 block of La Grange Road stole pots and pans from the store.

8:56 a.m., Ridgewood Estates — A woman said two metal gasoline cans were on the east shoulder of Ridgewood Drive near Parkridge Avenue.

9:59 a.m., Tuolumne — A man said a $1,500 surround-sound stereo system was stolen from his house on the 16000 block of Anderson Drive.

11:03 a.m., Jamestown — The manager of an apartment complex on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said a tenant called him vulgar names during an argument.

11:28 a.m., Jamestown — A caller said a man was hitting a woman on Tenth Street, then dragged her into a house. A deputy arrested the man on misdemeanor warrants.

12:35 p.m., East Sonora — A man said a suspicious-looking woman with red hair and a purple jacket was ducking in and out of bushes between two stores at The Junction shopping center.

12:42 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said a man in his mid-20s was riding a go-cart in circles between Oak Street and Bodenhammer Avenue.

2:04 p.m., East Sonora — A woman from The Country Store on the 13700 block of Mono Way said a customer in Nigeria tried to place an order with a stolen credit card, but keeps recontacting the store trying to get the order filled.

2:46 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said a woman driving a gray coupe was going through mail boxes on Jacksonville Road. The woman headed toward Groveland when she saw the caller.

2:48 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said her stolen wallet was found in bushes behind the Veterans Memorial Hall, minus $50 in cash.

8:26 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 10200 block of Chili Gulch Road said a $5 roast beef sandwich was stolen from her house after the thief broke in through a garage door causing $200 in damage.

9:21 p.m., East Sonora — A man said four or five people were fighting in front of a fast food restaurant on the 13700 block of Mono Way. One person had a bat, but left in a 2001 black Volkswagen Jetta.

9:27 p.m., Jamestown — Nine callers said they heard rapid gunfire from near the 18700 block of Highway 108. A deputy saw flashes in the sky and heard what sounded like commercial fireworks, but was unable to find who was setting them off.

FRIDAY

6:39 a.m., La Grange — A woman said a bus was vandalized and had its battery stolen on the 3000 block of Merced Falls Road.

8:04 a.m., Dardanelle — A woman said someone broke the rear window of her vehicle yesterday while it was parked on Highway 108.

8:26 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said a generator and chain saw were stolen from her garage on the 17700 block of Yosemite Road.

9:08 a.m., Sonora area — A man wanted a deputy to meet him on the 22700 block of Keuin Mill Road, where he is with three children he suspects are under the influence of marijuana.

11:11 a.m., Groveland — Two callers said a flag was stolen from Wayside Park last night.

2:13 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a man jumped into her car and started hitting her last night on the 16900 block of Chicken Ranch Road.

2:47 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 16200 block of Apple Colony Road said her mailbox was stolen.

3:32 p.m., Jamestown — A man said people are continually trespassing on his property on the 11100 block of Golden Horseshoe Mine Road.

4:12 p.m., Belleview Oaks — A man said a wallet and purse were stolen from his home on the 16100 block of Hotaw Court Tuesday night.

7:13 p.m., Sonora area — A home on the 18000 block of Blue Bell East was broken into.

7:51 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road said one of her window screens was pried off last night.

7:57 p.m., Jamestown— A caller said she saw a woman slash the tires of a car parked on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

10:24 p.m., Sonora area — A man said a loud group of kids was hanging out in a parking lot on Chukar Circle, possibly damaging vehicles.

10:48 p.m., Soulsbyville — A caller said someone driving east on Highway 108 toward Twain Harte was shooting a paint-ball gun out of the vehicle's window.

11:29 p.m., Tuolumne — A man said five people who appeared to be intoxicated were on the Summerville High School campus.

SATURDAY

12:22 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said someone was throwing rocks at her window.

7:19 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said a bike that was stolen from her home on the 18100 block of Sixth Avenue was returned damaged.

8:23 a.m., Sonora area — A man said a cow was missing from his property on the 14800 block of Wards Ferry Road.

8:42 a.m., Sonora area — A fight was reported on the 100 block of Cemetery Lane.

9:11 a.m., Groveland — A man said the Groveland Post Office was spray painted the night before.

9:15 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller said an "out-of-it" man was lying alongside Middlecamp Road in some bushes.

9:22 a.m., Groveland — A woman said someone wrote "Die Clown" with orange spray paint on her building on the 18600 block of Main Street.

9:42 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said someone broke into her enclosed deck on the 14100 block of Tuolumne Road and slept there the night before.

10:08 a.m., Jamestown — A man said his vacation home on the 13900 block of Tulloch Dam Road was broken into.

10:32 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said a man was hitting a woman in a parking lot on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

11:20 a.m., Groveland — A man on the 12000 block of Breckenridge Road said 2004 tags were stolen off his vehicle.

12:02 p.m., Groveland — A man said a lock had been cut on the 8000 block of Priest Coulterville Road and 500 gallons of diesel fuel is missing.

3:44 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A man said three suspicious-looking people were hanging around the swimming pool on Creekside Drive.

4:24 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a house on the 22600 block of Virginia Avenue was broken into and ransacked.

8:58 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10100 block of Peppermint Lane said her husband just caught a 16-year-old neighbor looking into their 15-year-old daughter's bedroom window.

9:36 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said a woman came into a business on the 18700 block of Tiffeni Drive crying with blood on her face and hands.

YESTERDAY

12:26 a.m., Sonora area — A Sonora Police officer said someone broke the back window out of a car on Stewart Street and took off.

5:31 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A caller said someone egged his house and car on the 20900 block of Lama Taumete Drive.

10:14 a.m., Sonora area — A man said his mailbox on the 15600 block of Ridgewood Drive was destroyed the night before.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

10:01 p.m., Sonora — Tyson Douglas Miller, 22, 100 block of North Shepherd Street, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging him with unlawful sex with a minor after a traffic stop and arrest on South Washington Street at William Street. According to a Sonora police report, an officer stopped Miller because he was driving without his headlights on. Miller was released on his own recognizance Friday.

Maria Irma Chavez-Mejia, 35, 21400 block of Madre Drive, Sonora, booked at 1:10 a.m., Friday after arrest on Ridgewood Drive at Heavenly Drive, Phoenix Lake area.

Meri Evangela Johnson, 30, no address given, Jamestown, booked at 4:45 a.m., Friday after arrest on Wigwam Road east of Jamestown Road, Jamestown area.

THURSDAY

10:43 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman on the 100 block of North Norlin Street said two men were in her driveway taking pictures of her house.

11:24 a.m., warrant arrest — A 37-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant after a traffic stop on North Washington Street.

11:29 a.m., traffic accident — A 56-year-old man said he would seek his own medical aid after being struck by a car in a parking lot on the 600 block of South Washington Street. The man complained of back pain after the accident.

3:47 p.m., assault — A Wal-Mart employee said a young male customer assaulted him.

4:12 p.m. theft — A caller said two men in a black pickup truck parked on School Street were trying to siphon gasoline from cars parked nearby.

4:17 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man in his mid-40s and wearing a dark coat and dark blue pants was acting strangely as he walked south on Washington Street.

5:27 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man wearing a black baseball cap backwards and a leather jacket was seen beating on cars that passed by him on Hospital Road.

6:23 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on North Norlin Street.

7:47 p.m., theft — A man was detained on suspicion of shoplifting from Grocery Outlet on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

FRIDAY

12:48 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury accident occurred on Southgate Drive.

3:02 p.m., traffic accident — A hit and run accident occurred in a parking lot on the 900 block of Mono Way.

5:11 p.m., theft — A child shoplifted at a business on the 100 block of Stockton Road.

7:46 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said several people got out of a parked car on Lytton Street, went into the cemetery for five minutes, then got back into their car.

8:14 p.m., found property — A caller said a purse was in some bushes on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

9:24 p.m., fight — A fight was reported outside a business on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

9:54 p.m., vandalism — A man said another man threw a rock through his vehicle's window while it was parked on South Washington Street.

10:30 p.m., theft — A theft occurred at Wal-Mart.

SATURDAY

12:01 a.m., vandalism — A caller said a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street was vandalized.

7:23 a.m., found property — A bike was found in the middle of South Washington Street.

8 a.m., burglary — A caller said the back door of a building on the 400 block of South Washington Street was open and so was the safe door.

8:52 a.m., fight — A fight on Cemetery Lane was reported.

3:04 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man on the 500 block of South Stewart Street is bloody and looks like he has been in a fight.

5:21 p.m., property damage — A woman said her vehicle's side window was broken while parked on the 200 block of Southgate Drive.

THURSDAY

7:37 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller was having ongoing disputes with neighbors on the 7800 block of Cabernet Street.

9:31 a.m., San Andreas — A caller said a car was broken into while parked in a lot on the 700 block of Mountain Ranch Road.

12:49 p.m., Avery — A caller reported a dispute between neighbors on the 2100 block of Rancho Paridisio.

3:20 p.m., Mountain Ranch —A man said his generator was stolen from property on West Murray Creek Road.

Fire calls

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

THURSDAY

10:30 a.m., Tuolumne area — A half-acre of grass burned on land owned by Newt McKenna on the 22000 block of North Tuolumne Road. An escaped debris burn started the fire. There was no dollar damage. Responding were California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department.

SATURDAY

7:36 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — One room and its contents were damaged in a fire in an unoccupied house on the 20800 block of Telele Trail. Cause of the fire is under investigation, and the property owner's name was not available this morning. Responders were Mi-Wuk-Sugar Pine Fire Protection District, CDF and Tuolumne County Fire Department.

SUNDAY

5:42 p.m., Crystal Falls area — Smoke alarms at a home owned by Greg Thomas on the 24200 block of Awahnee Road alerted neighbors, who called 911. When firefighters arrived, they found a bucket of hot ashes in the house, and the fire was contained to the bucket. Responding were CDF and Tuolumne County Fire Department.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

THURSDAY

7:50 p.m., Mountain Ranch area — A flue fire was reported on the 8700 block of East Murray Creek Road. There was no damage and the landowner's name was not available. Responding were Central, Mokelumne Hill and San Andreas fire protection districts.

SATURDAY

8:06 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Firefighters from Mokelumne Hill and San Andreas fire protection districts responded to a flue fire on the 5700 block of Highway 49. The homeowner's name was not available.

SUNDAY

5:42 p.m., Arnold — Firefighters were called to a home on the 1000 block of Highway 4 because of smoke in the house. The source turned out to be a dryer belt. No damage was caused, and the homeowner's name was not available. Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded.
