WEDNESDAY

7:08 a.m., Jamestown — A teenager was outside Jamestown Community Day School on Ninth Street smoking a pipe.

8:28 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 11000 block of McKibbin Drive said two unlocked trucks parked in his driveway were broken into overnight.

8:28 a.m., Tuolumne — Two women told a deputy they saw a man expose himself to them at Basin Creek on Buchanan Road.

9:14 a.m., Big Hill area — A man on the 12600 block of Gunsight Road said a satellite receiver was stolen from his bedroom Sunday.

9:20 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 16100 block of Jacksonville Road said a woman was yelling at a man trying to pave the caller's driveway.

10:49 a.m., Tuolumne — A 35-year-old woman was arrested on misdemeanor warrants after a traffic stop and arrest on Bay Avenue at Pine Street.

11:19 a.m., Jamestown — A man said he saw a woman hanging onto a pole on Willow Street at Main Street with a pile of clothes beside her as if she had been turned out of a house.

11:30 a.m., Sonora Meadows — A woman said a teenage boy was walking around Sullivan Creek School on the 16300 block of Hidden Valley Road tampering with cars parked at the school.

11:36 a.m., Columbia — A 35-year-old woman was arrested on misdemeanor warrants at her house on the 12000 block of South Airport Road.

12:39 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a Mercedes has been parked on the side of the 18000 block of Rawhide Road for two days. She thought the car might have been stolen.

1:20 p.m., Jamestown — A man on the 19700 block of Rawhide Road said a shed on his property was broken into.

1:26 p.m., Columbia — A man said tenants evicted from the 10900 block of Green Street were taking their belongings from the house and an assistant manager needed help from a deputy.

1:37 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 18800 block of Manzanita Drive said her vehicle was broken into.

3:20 p.m., Crystal Falls — A woman said there is an ongoing problem with a teenage boy who rummages through her neighbor's garbage on his way home from the school bus stop on Niagara River Drive.

3:38 p.m., Quail Hollow — A man said six boys were outside his apartment on Grouse Way yelling and screaming for a boy to come outside and fight.

4:45 p.m., Soulsbyville — Four rifles, together, valued at $2,700, were stolen from a gun case inside a house on the 16000 block of Corte de las Ninas.

6:32 p.m., Groveland — A man on the 10800 block of Merrell Road said his house might have been broken into because he received a telephone bill showing long distance calls had been placed from the house when he is not there.

7:51 p.m., Columbia — A caller said a man and woman were screaming at each other in front of their house on State Street.

8:55 p.m., New Melones Reservoir — A man said that as he was driving over the Highway 49 bridge over New Melones Reservoir, he saw a boat on the lake with someone flashing a light as if in distress.

11:06 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman at Eproson House restaurant on the 22900 block of Twain Harte Drive said a man was assaulted.

Felony bookings

WEDNESDAY

10:59 a.m., Sonora — Christina Renee Martinez, 33, 2700 block of Venado Drive, Arnold, booked on a warrant charging her with forgery, failure to appear and probation violation, as well as a felony parole hold, after an arrest on the 200 block of Greenley Road. No details were available. She remained held without bail this morning.

12:10 p.m., Campo Seco Road area — Wendi Lou Fields, 30, 18200 block of Berry Lane, Sonora area, booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana after an arrest at her home by Tuolumne County Sheriff narcotics team investigators. No details were available. She was released yesterday after posting $10,000 bail.

6:18 p.m., Sonora — Lee Ray Hugh Ashlock, 26, no address given, booked on suspicion of failure to register as a sex offender, animal cruelty and misdemeanor public intoxication after an arrest on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

According to a Sonora police report, a caller saw Ashlock sitting on a wall near a gas station. The caller said Ashlock and another man grabbed and shook a puppy.

An officer saw Ashlock grab the puppy and bite it on the back of its neck. The officer arrested Ashlock, and the 8-month-old pit-bull-mix puppy was taken to animal control.

Ashlock remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

YESTERDAY

1:23 a.m., Tuolumne — Eric Jonathan Newquist, 24, no address, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after arrest on Tuolumne Road at Carter Street.

According to a sheriff's report, Newquist was a passenger in a car stopped by a deputy for a traffic violation. Newquist agreed to be searched and a deputy found a smoking pipe with methamphetamine in it. Newquist remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Brian Joseph Carroll, 40, 1300 block of East 20th Street, Merced, booked at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday after arrest on Highway 108 at Tuolumne Road.

Sonora police reports

WEDNESDAY

1:04 p.m., public intoxication — A 37-year-old man was booked on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest in Court House park on North Washington Street.

1:08 p.m., animal complaints — A caller said a dog was in distress locked inside a vehicle at Sonora Plaza shopping center. The dog's owners arrived about the same time as the officer, and the dog was fine.

2:19 p.m., public intoxication — A 52-year-old man was booked on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest on South Green Street.

2:49 p.m., theft — A caller said $120 was stolen from a wallet while the caller was shopping at a store in Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

4:52 p.m., theft — Someone cut through the top of a convertible parked at Tuolumne General Hospital.

8:19 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on South Washington Street at Linoberg Street.

9:28 a.m., Dorrington — A door was kicked and its frame destroyed during a burglary on the 1800 block of Karock Road.

9:35 a.m., Wilseyville — A worker at a doctors office on the 1400 block of Rail Road Flat Road requested a welfare check on a patient who missed an appointment.

10:35 a.m., San Andreas — A visitor of the Calaveras County Museum on the first block of North Main Street walked out of the museum with some artifacts. When chased by the docent, the man put the items down and she recovered them breathlessly.

10:38 a.m., Valley Springs — Shrubs were stolen from Veterans Memorial Park on Highway 26.

12:03 p.m., San Andreas — A Broadway Street resident said she loaned her couch to a friend, who loaned it to another friend, who put it in storage. Another friend took the sofa home and sold it.

12:41 p.m., Arnold — A house on the 1200 block of Moran Road was burglarized.

12:57 p.m., Camanche — A woman on the 11700 block of Pattison Road said her drunken husband drove off with their baby in the car.

2:04 p.m., Copperopolis — A drunken woman was carrying a child at a grocery store on O'Byrnes Ferry Road. The woman's mother picked up both the woman and her child.

2:04 p.m., Valley Springs — A garage was broken into on the 3200 block of Silver Rapids Road.

3:29 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller on the 2300 block of Pamo Court said her boyfriend was harassing her. When asked if she wanted to file a report, she said she didn't have time, she had to sell Girl Scout cookies.

4:24 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller on the 4800 block of Little John Road said his ex-wife might be up to something.

4:32 p.m., Rancho Calaveras — A caller on the 7300 block of Jenny Lind Road said an adult was yelling at his son.

7:34 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2600 block of Danaher Drive said he or she had been hearing strange noises outside the window.

7:58 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 700 block of Gabor Street said she was going to her ex-husband's house to pick up her red goat and her custom goat house.

WEDNESDAY

12:25 p.m., Angels Camp — Charity Lee Chambers, 32, 1000 block of Tuolumne Road, Angels Camp, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance. Chambers, who was arrested on Highway 49 near Bret Harte Drive, was later transported to another county jail.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

John Vincent Kelleher, 49, of Lodi, booked at 2:45 a.m. yesterday after his arrest on Highway 26 in Valley Springs.

Fire

YESTERDAY

1:44 p.m., Arnold — An escaped debris burn was reported on the 1300 block of Linebaugh Road. No damage was reported. Ron Cooper of the same address owns the land. Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded.

2:26 p.m., West Point — An escaped debris burn was reported on the 4200 block of Poverty Lane. No damage was reported. Arvil Chandler of the same address owns the land. West Point Fire Protection District responded.
