Sheriff's reports

SUNDAY

1:16 p.m., Jamestown — A CHP officer asked for help dealing with several children on the roof of a Jamestown Elementary School building.

2:14 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10600 block of Campo Seco Road said her house was burglarized.

4:31 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman reported someone was in a vacant house on the 22300 block of Ponderosa Drive who should not be there.

5:20 p.m., Jamestown area — A woman on the 16100 block of Jacksonville Road said she was threatened by a man about a trailer she just purchased.

7:17 p.m., Mono Vista — A man on the 20300 block of South Sunshine Road said guns were stolen from his house.

7:30 p.m., Jamestown — A man said he saw three or more people in a nearby cemetery with night-vision goggles on, looking toward an apartment on Preston Lane. When a deputy was unable to locate anything suspicious the man said the sheriff's department was not working hard enough.

11:41 p.m., Twain Harte — A 40-year-old man was booked on misdemeanor warrants after an arrest on the 23000 block of Joaquin Gully Road.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

9:57 p.m., Sonora — Morgan Fay Carruth, 42, 10000 block of Park Avenue, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a warrant charging her with possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Sonora police report, Carruth went to Vic's Chevron Towing on Highway 49 to retrieve a stored vehicle and tried to use a credit card that had been reported stolen. A Vic's employee called the police and Carruth was arrested.

She remained held this morning in lieu of $15,000 bail.

SUNDAY

2:40 a.m., East Sonora — Gregory Christopher Hanson, 18, 16100 block of Big Hill Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property and vehicle theft after arrest on Phoenix Lake Road west of Hess Road.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, Hanson and a 17-year-old boy were arrested after being stopped by two officers answering a call about a stolen 1993 Subaru Impreza. The officers saw the car drive past them on Phoenix Lake Road and turned on the emergency lights to stop the driver.

But the driver sped away from the officers, traveling at times at 80 mph, the report said. The driver lost control and went off the right shoulder into a dirt field, and Hanson and the driver got out of the car and dropped to the ground when officers ordered them to do so.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, receiving stolen property, drunken driving and failure to yield. He was turned over to juvenile probation officials.

Hanson remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Monika Ann Sturgis, 21, 15400 block of Camino Del Parque, Sonora, booked at 3:10 a.m. Friday after arrest on Mono Way at Fir Drive, Sonora.

Robert Allen Carmichael, 54, unknown address on Willow Springs Drive, Willow Springs, booked at 1:20 p.m. Friday after arrest on Carter Street at Fir Avenue, Tuolumne.

Mitchell Lewis Schader, 40, 22000 block of Longeway Road, Sonora, booked at 12:40 a.m. Saturday after arrest at his home. He was also booked on suspicion of driving with a license suspended for a previous drunken driving conviction and evading a peace officer.

Evan James Holmes, 21, 84000 block of Wilcox Ranch Road, Tuttletown area, booked at 2:25 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 at Main Street, Jamestown.

Joseph Allen Warren, 34, 20900 block of Shaws Flat Road, Jamestown, booked at 10:15 p.m., Saturday after arrest on Jamestown Road at Fifth Avenue, Jamestown.

Michael Lee Clark, 52, 500 block of Maple Street, Sonora, booked at 6:45 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Shepherd Street at Mehun Street, Sonora.

Ryan Steven Newman, 20, 2000 block of Oxford Court, Turlock, booked at 8:50 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 132 at Arbolada, La Grange area.

SUNDAY

9:15 a.m., misdemeanor arrests — Two men were cited and released for drinking alcohol from an open container when an officer stopped them on Stockton Road east of the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.

10:19 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman said a vendor at a weekend flea market at Mother Lode Fairgrounds had some of her items that were stolen over a year ago.

12:10 p.m., found property — A woman's brown wallet found on Pesce Way was turned over to the police department.

10:55 p.m., found property — A briefcase found near Stewart Street at Jackson Street was turned over to the police department.

SUNDAY

10:45 a.m., Valley Springs — A citation was issued to the driver of a vehicle parked illegally in a handicapped space without disabled plates or placards.

11:57 a.m., San Andreas — A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public in front of Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital.

1:13 p.m., Dorrington — A vacation home was burglarized on the 3000 block of Ben Thorn Drive.
