Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7:17 a.m., Crystal Falls — A man said the Crystal Falls Association stables were vandalized over the weekend.

9:22 a.m., Belleview Oaks — A man on the 21900 block of Fortuna Mine Road said a woman stole his puppies on Saturday and dropped them off at Tuolumne County Animal Control.

9:59 a.m., Chinese Camp — A woman said trash was dumped at the Chinese Camp Post Office on the 13600 block of Red Hills Road.

10:07 a.m., East Sonora — A woman saw a bag beside a blue van parked on North Bergel Road. The bag had bloody meat inside. State Fish and Game officers were notified.

11:15 a.m., Tuolumne — A caller on the 18300 block of Yosemite Road said his blue 2004 registration sticker was stolen off his vehicle.

1:25 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 22700 block of Highland Drive said a motor home parked on his property was vandalized and it appeared someone was trying to use the motorhome's battery to jumpstart a car battery.

3:34 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said a man and woman knocked on the caller's door asking to use the bathroom.

4:20 p.m., Standard area — A woman said two older teenage boys were throwing rocks at cars on Camage Way.

5:40 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman taking care of a house on the 22800 block of Miners Avenue said when she arrived to check on the house, a man was sitting on the front porch. When the man saw her, he drove away.

6:18 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman saw a small girl wearing only her underwear at Brentwood Park lake while two other teenage girls were fully clothed nearby. A deputy checked on the trio and determined the little girl was hot and wanted to test the waters, but decided against it because the water was too cold.

7:23 p.m., Mono Village — An employee at a restaurant on the 14700 block of Mono Way said a woman came into the restaurant bleeding. She said a man hit her in the face and pulled out a third of her hair while the two were at a friend's house.

7:41 p.m., Jamestown — A deputy called for CDF to come to a house on Eighth Avenue because the homeowners were burning brush on a no-burn day.

8:14 p.m., East Sonora — A Flyers clerk said two men stole an 18-pack of Budweiser from the mini-mart on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

8:32 p.m., Sonora area — A man on Bay Meadow Drive said a woman broke his car headlights and bent a windshield wiper on a vehicle parked at his house.

10:13 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A man said four trucks went up Estralita Drive, possibly to go to a party at the end of the road with a bonfire.

11:20 p.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security officer said a man and a woman were fighting in a green pickup in the upper parking lot.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Douglas Edward Spraggins, 45, 10700 block of Algerine Road, Jamestown, booked at 12:45 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 108 at Main Street, Jamestown.

MONDAY

12:14 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a drunken man was at a business on the 300 block of Stockton Road. The man was gone before an officer arrived.

12:27 p.m., vandalism — A caller on the 400 block of Alpine Lane said a rock was thrown through a swimming pool cover.

12:47 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic collision on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

2:35 p.m., found property — A caller found a cell phone in the bed of her pickup parked at Sonora Crossroads shopping center on Sanguinetti Road.

4:29 p.m., public intoxication — A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a caller saw the man at Courthouse Square on North Washington Street.

5:23 p.m., theft — A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

5:36 p.m., parking — A disabled veteran said cars were parked in handicap zones at Sonora Regional Medical Center without the appropriate placards.

6:30 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said two men got out of a silver car near the skateboard park on Greenley Road with a large bottle of alcohol.

7:10 p.m., theft — An antique accordion valued at more than $500 was stolen from the a house on the 200 block of South Washington Street.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

9:28 a.m., Arnold — Signs were vandalized at Hazel Fischer Elementary School.

10:47 a.m., San Andreas — Paint thinner was poured over a company truck at Calaveras Tire on the 200 block of St. Charles Street.

11 a.m., Valley Springs — Stakes that marked property boundaries were stolen from the 3000 block of Stagecoach Court.

1:58 p.m., Arnold — Guns were stolen from a house on the 2000 block of Country Club Drive.

2:22 p.m., Dorrington — A vacation home was burglarized on the corner of Hangtree Trail and Indian Rock Road.

4:38 p.m., Arnold — A caller said a house on the 1000 block of Pebble Beach Way was being burglarized.

5:03 p.m., San Andreas — Two men at a gas station were arguing, and one was trying to persuade the other to get out of his van.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

2:40 a.m., West Point — Vincent James Valdez, 31, 1000 block of John Eaph Trail, West Point, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after arrest on Skull Flat Road. He remained in custody today in lieu of $20,000 bail.

1:08 a.m., Copperopolis — Levon Jacob Elizalde, 22, 2000 block of Cheyenne Road, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license after arrest at the intersection of Feather Court and Copper Cove Drive. He remained in custody today in lieu of $33,000 bail.
