Sheriff's reports


7:09 a.m., Jamestown area — Three people called to report that about 20 mailboxes on Rimrock Road were smashed overnight.

8:47 a.m., Groveland — A caller said a woman threatened to shoot another woman because of an argument over feral cats on Hidden Hollow Drive.

9:02 a.m., Cedar Ridge — A woman on Mt. Elizabeth Drive found a large pile of trash with mail in it.

10:20 a.m., Don Pedro — A woman said a house under construction on Canada Street was vandalized.

11:41 a.m., East Sonora — A freezer at Calvary Temple on the 19200 block of Hillsdale Drive was vandalized.

12:54 p.m., Columbia — A woman said a red Honda motorcycle was stolen from a locked garage on the 13600 block of Big Hill Road.

1:23 p.m., Mono Village — A man said a storage shed at American Geological Services on the 14800 block of Mono Way was broken into, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

2:01 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a teenage girl wrote on the side of a building at Eproson Park on Meadow Lane.

4:39 p.m., East Sonora — A television set valued at $600 was stolen from a conference room at Best Western-Sonora Oaks Motel on the 19500 block of Hess Avenue.

5:56 p.m., Soulsbyville area — A woman on the 20300 block of South Sunshine Road said another woman "socked her in the face."

6:46 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said a man driving a copper-colored pickup truck was sitting in a parking lot on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road drinking a beer while yelling and hitting the air.

7:54 p.m., Big Hill area — A man on the 12600 block of Gunsight Road said three men in a black Dodge pickup truck stole his woodsplitter and cut his garden hoses and telephone line before a neighbor was able to run them off.

8:32 p.m., Standard — A man said he and another man were arguing over a driving incident after rocks flew up from one man's vehicle into another's windshield.

9:33 p.m., Standard area — A caller said two women and a man were trespassing on the 13800 block of Tuolumne Road.


1:53 a.m., Columbia — A man said two or three people were in the parking lot on Parrotts Ferry Road near Sawmill Flat Road, but hid when they heard sirens.

Felony bookings


6 p.m., Sonora — Stephanie Marie Palmertree, 24, 11300 block of Silverpine Drive, Jamestown, and Gerald Norman Hazeltine, 29, 14600 block of Mono Way, Sonora, both booked on felony parole holds after an arrest at the Sheriff's Department by a state parole agent.

Palmertree was released yesterday after her parole holds were dropped. Hazeltine was returned to prison.


3:21 a.m., Standard area — Caleb Wilson Brinkley, 18, 15000 block of Lupin Road, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging him with felony vandalism and criminal conspiracy and misdemeanor petty theft after an arrest at his home. He was released without bail.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Cindy Maria Rubio, 34, 1200 block of Glencoe Parkway, Vallejo, booked at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday after arrest on Highway 108 at Rawhide Road, Jamestown.

Sonora police reports


8:49 a.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in an accident at the Department of Motor Vehicles office on Morning Star Drive.

10:28 a.m., traffic violation — A 42-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on Mono Way.

11:04 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man wearing only his boxer shorts was walking down South Green Street.

12:28 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a suspicious package from a Mississippi address was leaking a white substance. The substance turned out to be cornmeal.

2:40 p.m., theft — A purse was stolen from a truck parked at Timberhills shopping center.

10:49 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said four people were sitting on a bench at Sonora Elementary School. An officer dispersed the group.

7:08 a.m., Angels Camp — An argument was reported in the Calaveras County Fairground's main parking lot after a fair employee was fired.

9:22 a.m., San Andreas — A man yelled "boom" and made "gestures of an explosion" at the county assessor's office on the 800 block of Mountain Ranch Road.

9:55 a.m., San Andreas — An intoxicated woman was reportedly causing a disturbance outside of her apartment on the 500 block of Lewis Avenue.

10:08 a.m., Valley Springs — An intoxicated woman was reported yelling outside her apartment on the 200 block of Sequoia Avenue.

10:40 a.m., Vallecito — Items were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 3600 block of Poag Road.

11:11 a.m., Murphys — An intoxicated woman was reported causing a disturbance outside of her apartment on the 1600 block of West Springs Road.

11:19 a.m., Murphys — A caller from a hotel on the 400 block of Main Street said a person keeps getting access to keys and living in hotel rooms.

5:21 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the first block of Baldwin Street said a man ran him over with a vehicle. The caller also said the man went after another person with a golf club.


12:52 a.m., Valley Springs — The owner of a pit bull running loose on the 200 block of Sequoia Avenue was cited.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Larry Douglas Roberts, 31, 200 block of Oak Street, San Andreas, booked at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after arrest at the intersection of Laurel and Daphne streets, Valley Springs.
