Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

7:01 a.m., Columbia — A caller said a man who appeared to be drunk was sitting a gray car at Yankee Hill Road and Cattle Drive Trail.

8:57 a.m., Sonora — A man on the 11000 block of Highway 49 said a female neighbor grabbed his arm and threw him against a wall during an argument.

9:03 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller from the 22000 block of Wildcat Ridge Road said a neighbor tried to start a fight with the him when he was writing down the license plate number of an abandoned vehicle.

10:26 a.m., Twain Harte — A house on the 22900 block of Sunnybrook Drive was broken into.

10:47 a.m., Crystal Falls — A caller said a man was on the deck of a house on Smokey River Drive near Longeway Road throwing beer bottles into the street.

10:47 a.m., Jamestown — A man said his vehicle was vandalized with spray paint when it was parked on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

11:02 a.m., Tuolumne — A man said a line was torn on a water tank at the Tuolumne Utilities District water treatment plant on the 18600 block of Cedar Street.

11:20 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman said a bicycle was stolen from a house on the 23800 block of Yellow Pine Road, possibly on Friday night.

11:33 a.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 21000 block of Shaws Flat Road said a woman came to her house and threatened her.

12:38 p.m., Jamestown area — A woman on the 18900 block of North Drive said a rock was thrown through her son's car window and the stereo stolen out of the car.

3:58 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said a construction crew working on a house on the 22000 block of Bret Harte Drive was blasting and shaking his house.

6:16 p.m., Mormon Creek area — A 40-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor traffic violation warrants after a traffic stop on Highway 49 at Fraguero Road.

9:13 p.m., Columbia — A man said he was assaulted at a house on the 21800 block of Sawmill Flat Road by his son.

9:32 p.m., Standard — A woman said her son was assaulted while at Standard Park by a man with a pierced eyelid and lip.

9:34 p.m., Quail Hollow — A man on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle said 10 people were in the carport near his house smoking and drinking. He said there is an on-going problem with vandalism to cars in the area and they people in the carport might be responsible.

YESTERDAY

12:04 a.m., Wards Ferry area — A caller said two people were arguing at Morgan Chapel on Wards Ferry Road. A deputy talked to a man and his son, who were having "a heart-to-heart" talk and started to yell at each other at one point.

1:13 a.m., Sonora — A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness by a deputy who stopped the man on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

10:12 a.m., Mono Village — Michael Anthony Ferguson, 22, 19000 block of Hillsdale Drive, Sonora, booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property and on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with reckless driving after arrest in the Mono Village shopping center.

After a traffic stop, a sheriff's sergeant identified Ferguson, who was a passenger, and discovered the warrant. According to the report, the deputy found a driver's license belonging to another man in Ferguson's wallet and the man's watch on Ferguson's wrist. The man had reported the license and watch were stolen three months ago.

Ferguson remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

William Corey Street, 41, 24500 block of Highway 108, Mi-Wuk Village, booked at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Highway 108, Mi-Wuk Village.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

10:36 a.m., found property — A woman on the 100 block of East Lyons Street found a heavy-duty flashlight on her property.

10:54 a.m., animal complaints — A 5-to-6-year-old German shepherd dog was dumped at the end of Southgate Drive.

11:03 a.m., traffic accident — An elderly woman went to Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment following a traffic accident Monday. The woman said while she was at a cemetery for Memorial Day services when a driver ran over her both her feet.

11:35 a.m., theft — A woman on the 600 block of Sanguinetti Road said jewelry was taken from her house.

12:10 p.m., traffic violation — A man was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on North Stewart Street at Elkin Street.

12:53 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man walking unsteadily down Calaveras Way was approaching people asking for pain medication.

1:52 p.m., warrant arrests — A 20-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor traffic warrants after being stopped at Courthouse Square.

5:36 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said two older women were in a parking lot at Tuolumne General Hospital possibly doing drugs. An officer checked the area but did not find the women.

8:41 p.m., public intoxication — A 45-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after an arrest at Sonora Elementary School, when an off-duty officer saw the woman near the school office.

Fires

YESTERDAY

10:39 a.m., East Sonora — A small grass fire was reported on the 13100 block of Sanguinetti Road. A power pole transformer started the fire. No damage was reported. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Sonora City Fire Department responded.

TUESDAY

7:54 a.m., San Andreas — A man was arrested for taking off his clothes and throwing them onto Highway 12.

9:18 a.m., Valley Springs — Items were stolen out of unlocked buildings on the 22000 block of Highway 26.

10:04 a.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1800 block of Pine Drive said a huge black bear was in the area.

2:51 p.m., Copperopolis — Items were stolen from a boat on the 500 block of Delores Way.

4:16 p.m., Arnold — A person was throwing items into a pool at a fitness center on the 2100 block of Highway 4.

5:10 p.m., San Andreas — Someone stole a purse on the 300 block of Luddy Lane.

6:23 p.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1800 block of Fern Way said people passed through her back yard before climbing over and breaking her fence.

7:43 p.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 400 block of East St. Charles Street said she received harassing phone calls from her soon-to-be ex-husband.

7:51 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller on the 9300 block of Sport Hill Road said harassing phone calls were made regarding a real estate matter.

8:32 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller on the 9900 block of Springhill Ranch Road said a former tenant was evicted and trashed a trailer on the caller's property.

9:10 p.m., San Andreas — An argument and a shoe-throwing incident was reported on the 1000 block of Knief Lane.

11:04 p.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 200 block of Oak Street said he was assaulted by his girlfriend.

11:48 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller on the 200 block of Iroquois Circle said a suspicious vehicle was parked near a residence.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

10:34 a.m., San Andreas — Jedidiah Othal Blair, 24, of Stockton, booked on a San Joaquin County warrant for suspicion of receiving stolen property and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent. Blair remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

8:40 p.m., Valley Springs — Joseph Lee Fisher, 26, 200 block of Daphne Street, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary. He is suspected of stealing alcohol and car care products at a Valley Springs grocery store. As of this morning, Fisher remained at the county jail, held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Herbert William Hoffman, 66, 6200 block of Trout Lane, Mountain Ranch, booked at 12:43 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Ridge Road in Glencoe.

Fires

YESTERDAY

12:50 p.m., Burson — A one-acre grass fire was reported on the 3600 block of Helisma Road. Damage was estimated at $200. The fire was caused by a bulldozer. Michael Dean Kilpatrick of the same address owns the land. CDF and Foothill Fire Protection District responded.
