Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

8:33 a.m., Groveland — A Pine Mountain Lake security guard said a camper paid to stay seven days, but has been there two weeks and refuses to leave.

9:44 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman said her purse and backpack were stolen from her unlocked vehicle, parked on the 18500 block of Carter Street.

9:53 a.m., Columbia — A man said $60 was stolen out of his unlocked vehicle, parked on the 11500 block of Yankee Hill Road.

10:32 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a 6- or 7-year-old boy was walking alone on Highway 108. A deputy talked with the boy who said he was walking for exercise. The deputy took the boy home.

11:17 a.m., East Sonora — A building at Mother Lode Motors on the 13400 block of Mono Way was damaged two nights in a row by someone trying to pull metal siding off.

11:57 a.m., Tuolumne — A Mi-Wuk tribal security officer said a spool of copper electrical wire valued at $900 was stolen from a building on the 19500 block of Mi Wu Street.

12:10 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a woman wearing a skirt and a star-spangled shirt, singing, balancing a cup on her head and yelling about Iraq was in the parking lot area at The Junction shopping center.

12:17 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman on the 24000 block of Highway 108 said a girl's pink-and-purple bicycle was stolen.

12:23 p.m., Twain Harte — A house on the 23000 block of Black Oak Drive was broken into.

12:32 p.m., Ridgewood Estates — A woman on Ridgewood Drive said $40,000 worth of sterling silverware was stolen from her house sometime since Christmas.

1:23 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 22000 block of Twain Harte Drive said a neighbor was dumping cat feces into her yard.

3:38 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man said his vehicle was broken into while it was parked on the 20600 block of Haiapo Road. Miscellaneous tools, a flashlight and binoculars were stolen.

5:04 p.m., Standard — A woman said her vehicle was keyed while it was parked at Standard Park.

5:26 p.m., Don Pedro Reservoir — A caller said people on personal watercraft were chasing a boat on the lake and harassing the occupants.

6:55 p.m., Columbia area — A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after an arrest on the 22800 block of Four Wheel Drive. A sheriff's report said the man was on the property fighting another man.

FRIDAY

4:04 a.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security officer said the casino received three counterfeit $20 bills.

9:32 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said she was involved in an argument with a man on the 20100 block of Cedar Road North.

10 a.m., Don Pedro — A man said a construction site on the 2600 block of El Naranjo Street was burglarized.

10:23 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 18100 block of Sixth Avenue said she was being stalked.

10:36 a.m., Willow Springs — A man said the key to his motorcycle's gas tank was stolen on the 21000 block of Oman Drive.

10:45 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman said her boat was damaged while on a lake off Middle Camp Road.

11:14 a.m., Mono Village — A Live Oak Music employee said an instrument was paid for with a fraudulent credit card.

1:18 p.m., Groveland — A man on Jimmersall Lane, near Pine Mountain Lake Airport, said he got a call that a plane had lost engine power and was coming down in distress. The plane was reported safe on the ground at 1:38 p.m.

2:03 p.m., Jamestown — A man said his identification was stolen while on the 11500 block of La Grange Road.

3:05 p.m., Mono Village — A caller said several "carnies" were fighting in a business on the 14700 block of Mono Way.

3:39 p.m., Sonora — The Sonora Police Department asked county environmental health officials to look at fluids leaking from a truck that had been on fire on the 100 block of Hospital Road.

5:25 p.m., East Sonora — An Albertsons employee had a teenage boy in custody for shoplifting.

7:32 p.m., East Sonora — A man said pipes were taken from behind Sonora Mini Mart on Tuolumne Road.

8:51 p.m., Tuolumne — A man on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road said three teenage girls were handed alcohol by a man who had possibly shoplifted it.

10:28 p.m., Crystal Falls — A man said teenagers had started a bonfire on Crystal Falls Drive.

11:13 p.m., East Sonora — A woman said her wallet was stolen while she was at a business on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

SATURDAY

12:08 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said a person was lying on the ground near the passenger side of a truck parked on J-59.

12:20 a.m., Tuolumne — Two callers said a drunken mob was in Tuolumne Park beating someone up and running up and down Bay Avenue and Pine Street causing a disturbance.

1:51 p.m., Sonora — A Tuolumne General Hospital employee said a woman was in the emergency room after being pushed off a five-foot deck in Standard.

9:59 a.m., Sonora — A Sonora Police Officer said a woman pointed a handgun at someone after a road-rage incident on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

10:49 a.m., Columbia — A man said his motor home on the 12400 block of Big Hill Road was vandalized.

11:06 a.m., Columbia — A man on Forest Park Drive said someone dumped washing machines and other large items on his property.

1:38 p.m., Jamestown area — A caller said a man was exposing himself and yelling at him and two friends on the 18800 block of Rawhide Road.

3:17 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said her 15-year-old daughter was assaulted by another girl the night before on the 18300 block of Fir Avenue.

4:46 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said she was at a business on the 18100 block of Highway 108 when a man got out of his car and ran towards her like he was going to assault her.

5:55 p.m., Sonora — A man said he wanted to know if his friend had left a five-gallon gas can and a stick of dynamite in the Tuolumne County Administration Center on Green Street.

8:42 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman said underage drinking was going on at a party near her house on Kutci Court.

8:56 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man said someone was hanging on the roof rack of a westbound van on Willow Springs Drive.

10:53 p.m., Tuttletown — A New Melones Reservoir ranger said he caught someone siphoning gas from a vehicle parked on Reynolds Ferry Road.

YESTERDAY

3:19 a.m., Columbia — A caller on the 23200 block of Italian Bar Road said a woman walked to the caller's house after her friend drove off and left her. The woman said she and the man drove to Tuolumne County to go camping. She asked the man to stop the car so she could relieve herself and he drove off.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

4:43 p.m., Sonora area — Adam James Robello, 39, undisclosed address on Samon Road, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of possessing and transporting a controlled substance after an arrest on Highway 108 at Lime Kiln Road. No details were available. He was released Saturday after posting $20,000 bail.

4:45 p.m., Sonora area — William Augustus Nesler III, 22, 21300 block of Shaws Flat Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, violating probation and misdemeanor battery after an arrest at his home.

According to a sheriff's report, a man who rents a house from Nesler went to the sheriff's department complaining that Nesler was stealing his tools. Deputies went to the house and talked with Nesler who said the tools were his.

Deputies asked the man to come to the house and help deputies straighten things out. When the man showed up, Nesler ran toward him and punched him repeatedly before deputies could pull him off.

Nesler was arrested and held this morning in lieu of $30,000 bail.

11:37 p.m., Columbia — Ismael Thomas Viscarra, 19, 10 block of Brookside Place, Sonora, booked on warrants charging him with carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. He was arrested after a traffic stop on Big Hill Road at Sawmill Flat Road.

He remained held this morning without bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

James Paul Owen, 54, 28300 block of River Drive, Strawberry, booked at 10:55 p.m. Thursday after arrest on Highway 108 at Strawberry Road, Strawberry.

Jason Edward Redding, 30, undisclosed address in Twain Harte, booked at 1:10 a.m. Friday after arrest on Carter Street at Baker Street, Tuolumne.

Sonora police reports

THURSDAY

2:16 a.m., suspicious circumstance — A caller said a woman was lying in the grass in front of a motel on Stockton Road.

3 p.m., reckless driving — A caller said big rig truck drivers hauling rock to the end of Southgate Drive were driving too fast in a 15 mph zone.

4:11 p.m., theft — A caller said medication was stolen from a vehicle parked on North Stewart Street.

5:13 p.m., burglary — A caller said CDs and cash were stolen from a locked car parked on the 90 block of Summit Avenue.

9:05 p.m., miscellaneous harassment — A caller said a man was driving a white Pontiac Grand Am on the 400 block of Mono Way honking his horn.

FRIDAY

2:23 a.m., public intoxication — A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness on the 700 block of Barretta Street.

1:53 p.m., theft — A Mervyn's employee said a woman took several items from the store. When asked for a receipt, the woman ran off.

4:06 p.m., reckless driving — A caller said a man was driving "all over the place" in a parking lot on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

5:14 p.m., assault — An irate customer spit in a Gold Country Gas employee's face.

SATURDAY

12:16 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman said a business on the 300 block of South Washington Street was selling tobacco products to underage people.

9:03 p.m., theft — A Stockton Road Save-Mart employee got into a fight with a man trying to steal items from the store.

10:03 p.m., assault — A large group was fighting on the 100 block of Old Wards Ferry Road.

YESTERDAY

12:53 a.m., disorderly conduct — A caller said a car drove by a business on the 300 block of South Washington Street twice, yelling and screaming out the car window.

Fires

SATURDAY

4 p.m., Sonora — A grass fire was reported on the 200 block of Greenley Road. Sonora City Fire Department, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

YESTERDAY

5:15 p.m., East Sonora — A one-by-one foot spot fire was reported on Highway 108 at Hess Avenue. No damage was reported. Vehicle exhaust caused the flames. Caltrans owns the property. CDF and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

THURSDAY

5:59 a.m., San Andreas — Employees at a business on the 700 block of Mountain Ranch Road said a man was disturbing them.

8:10 a.m., Jenny Lind — A caller said a fraudulent credit card was used on the 5000 block of Siegel Road.

9:38 a.m., Sherman Acres — A caller said a house was broken into on the 25400 block of Highway 4.

9:47 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller said a gate was vandalized on the 5800 block of Carol Lane.

3:12 p.m., Burson — A caller said a neighbor ripped up a road on the caller's property on the 11700 block of Navajo Way.

6:02 p.m., Arnold — A money bag was reported missing from under the counter of Krafters Korrner.

9:36 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said a man was in the lobby of a business on the 700 block of Mountain Ranch Road causing a disturbance.

9:45 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said neighbors were fighting on the 500 block of Angels Road.

FRIDAY

2:09 a.m., Rail Road Flat — Several callers said shots were fired on the 700 block of Ridge Road, but it turned out to be people throwing rocks at a metal fence.

Fires

SATURDAY

Noon, Vallecito — A small spot fire was reported on the 3900 block of Highway 4. Damage was estimated at $200 to a lawnmower, which started the flames. Chalcedon Christian School owns the property. CDF, Murphys Fire Protection District, Angels Camp Fire Protection District, two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp, and one air tanker, one air attack and one helicopter from Columbia Air Base responded.

8:16 p.m., Vallecito — A one-acre brush fire was reported on Six Mile Road. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to brush and PVC pipe. The fire started after a bird flew into a power line. Bret Thompson of San Juan Capistrano owns the land. CDF, Murphys Fire Protection District, Angels Camp Fire Department, Altaville-Melones Fire Protection District, Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District and two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp responded.

9:33 p.m., Valley Springs — A trash bin fire was reported on the 200 block of Highway 12. Damage was estimated at $500. CDF, Foothill Fire Protection District and Burson Fire Protection District responded.
