Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

8:27 a.m., Standard area — A man said a van parked at a PG&E yard on Nugget Drive was broken into. According to a sheriff's report, $4,610 worth of tools were stolen.

9:20 a.m., Jamestown — A man said he found an 18-inch pipe with a burned fuse attached to it at the base of a flag pole at the Jamestown Post Office on Main Street.

9:51 a.m., East Sonora — A woman said people have been living in a parking lot behind a fast food restaurant on the 13700 block of Mono Way for three days and they would not leave when asked.

10:11 a.m., Big Hill — A woman said her SUV broke down near an abandoned lumber mill on Big Hill Road on Sunday. When she returned to the vehicle, the wheels, tires, lug nuts and locking hubcaps were gone.

10:21 a.m., Rancho Sonora Estates — A woman on East Walnut Drive said a newspaper delivery man drives too fast in the neighborhood in the mornings. Monday she said she asked him to slow down and he yelled profanities at her.

11:18 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a house on the 22000 block of Tamarack Drive was burglarized.

2:01 p.m., Jamestown — An animal control employee said a man was arguing with another employee over a dog that was impounded and then put down.

2:26 p.m., Kennedy Meadows — A woman with a head injury she received about a mile east of Kennedy Meadows was brought out to an ambulance by California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection firefighters.

3:01 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on Seventh Street said neighbors down the street were arguing and throwing things around their house.

3:47 p.m., Crystal Falls — A woman said a washer, dryer, kitchen chair, table and a box were stolen from her recently sold house on the 21000 block of Feather River Drive.

3:56 p.m., Sonora area — A caller said a man driving a white sedan was chasing a 13-year-old boy down Shaws Flat Road.

4:19 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man said the passenger door of his car, parked at a restaurant on the 24500 block of Highway 108, was kicked in.

6:10 p.m., Crystal Falls — A caller said a man was walking on Crystal Falls Drive and told the caller he was in a paintball fight and fell on rocks. The caller thought the man had been drinking and needed help.

6:36 p.m., Groveland — A woman said three men were taking tires off a blue vehicle parked along Ferretti Road near Pine Mountain Drive. A deputy talked to the men, who said they were helping a friend, but agreed to put the tires back on.

7:44 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a man driving on Seventh Street was trying to hit a dog with his car.

9:16 p.m., Sonora area — A Sonora Mini-Mart employee said a woman came into the store covered in blood, bought some beer and left in a dark blue van toward Tuolumne.

11:05 p.m., Crystal Falls — A woman said there was a loud party a the 17000 block of Suez Canal Drive that had been going on since yesterday and involved minors.

11:27 p.m., Wards Ferry — A caller said the occupants of three vehicles were at the intersection of Old Wards Ferry Road and Jacobs Road shooting off fireworks.

YESTERDAY

1:54 a.m., Quail Hollow — A woman on the 20000 block of Sparrow Lane said her friend was assaulted by a possibly drunken relative.

4:20 a.m., Columbia — A woman said two young kids, one wearing a trench coat and the other a jacket, were running down Yankee Hill Road toward downtown Columbia.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

8:30 a.m., Columbia — Donald Ralph Simmons, 52, 10900 block of Green Street, Columbia, booked on a San Francisco County warrant charging him with four counts of welfare fraud after an arrest at his home. He was taken to San Francisco County Jail.

3:15 p.m., Sonora — Clifford Sheridan King, 43, 200 block of Greenley Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of bringing contraband and drugs into the county jail. King was on work furlough when he came back to the jail with marijuana, a sheriff's report said.

He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

6:48 p.m., Sonora — Michael Pete Linan, 51, 21200 block of Old Columbia Way, Sonora, booked on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a negligent manner after an arrest at his home.

According to a sheriff's department report, Linan fired a .22 caliber rifle out a window of his house during an argument with his girlfriend. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

10:38 p.m., Tuolumne — Michael Jay Dewane, 48, 3100 block of Kansas Avenue, Modesto, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia after an arrest at Black Oak Casino.

According to a sheriff's report, a casino security officer, via a video camera, saw Dewane smoking from a glass pipe in his pickup in the casino parking lot.

A deputy questioned Dewane inside the casino then arrested him.

He was released yesterday after posting $10,000 bail.

Sonora police reports

MONDAY

11:07 a.m., burglary — A house on the 10 block of Hope Lane was burglarized and liquor was stolen.

11:14 a.m., animal complaints — A pitbull dog was locked inside the garage of an apartment on the 100 block of Cemetery Lane by the dog's owner, who had been evicted. The owner was located and took the dog.

12:12 p.m., trespass — The manager at Nanna's Brick Oven Deli Cafe said a former employee trespassed.

1:39 p.m., miscellaneous complaint — A caller said a teenage girl threw cups from a car while driving in Sonora Plaza shopping center parking lot. The police tracked the car's owner and the woman said she would talk to her daughter about littering.

3:13 p.m., public fight — A fight broke out in the parking lot at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

6:31 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured when a rental truck ran into a wall at Sonora Days Inn Motel on South Washington Street.

11:29 p.m., warrant arrest — A 24-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

YESTERDAY

1:50 a.m., public intoxication — A 62-year-old man booked on suspicion of public drunkenness after an arrest on Stockton Road.

3:32 a.m., animal complaints — A officer on patrol on Hope Lane found a box with an abandoned cat and her kittens inside. He took the felines to the animal control shelter.

MONDAY

7:03 a.m., Hathaway Pines — A caller on the 5000 block of Hillcrest Drive said someone was brandishing a weapon.

7:32 a.m., Rail Road Flat — A caller said a suspicious-looking vehicle was parked in a driveway on the 9000 block of East Murray Creek Road.

9:51 a.m., Copperopolis — Street signs on Beaver Road and Cheyenne were vandalized.

11:30 p.m., Wallace — A campsite at South Shore Lake Camanche was burglarized.

Rory Bruce Fitzgerald, 45, 9300 block of Mountain Ranch Road, Mountain Ranch, booked at 7:55 p.m. Monday after arrest on Mountain Ranch Road at Upper Michael Road, Mountain Ranch.
